Well, I know that with Umbrella Chronicles, it’ll be the end of the Umbrella Chapter of the series. We get to see how it happened and who was involved in bringing down Umbrella.
The next enemy is the organization that Wesker is affiliated with until the next villain emerges. I think RE5 will bring us closer to the end of the Wesker era as well.
Really? Isn’t Umbrella Chronicles merely Gun Survivor on rails next-gen? With the chronicles referring to the RE1, 2 and so on stages? The game really doesn’t look good enough to warrant any purchase personally, except for the fact that they seem to have the original Jill and Chris voice actors which is awesome.
They should stick to the Umbrella got messed up through funding idea because the whole S.T.A.R.S versus Umbrella thing would go nowhere. You’d have to make everything so grand, that it’d never work, Umbrella had way too many political ties to get taken down by some special forces and Army drop-outs or Police officers from some backwater city. It’s like the change between Leon in 2 and Leon in 4. I mean he’s cool now and whatever, but it feels so forced sometimes.
Half of the game will be about the older games in the series including RE:0 and the final half will be new section revealing new info about Umbrella and their downfall while adding in some new characters as well.
Those are Crimson Heads. They’re zombies in the V-Act stage. They’re only in the remake.
It’s more of an underlying series thing, so mainly from the Wesker Reports and stuff. IIRC, Umbrella’s biological weapons were mainly for U.S military application, they gain military grants and so forth and that’s some more money on the side. The major problem in the T-Virus is that it’s hard to control those afflicted and therefore unsellable. The plagas could allow for completely controllable super-zombie soldiers and if transmitted to enemies through the blood would turn enemies into allies.
Nothing’s stated in 4, so I could be completely wrong and since Umbrella is gone that may not be Wesker’s plan at all, but since he wants to rebuild the corporation, he must be looking to acheive profit and a controllable virus is the best way.
EDIT
Shatterstar - I’m gonna sound like an idiot, but Dead Aim did all that stuff too. I’ll admit that with every video it looks better, but I can’t buy a Wii solely for it, I did it for the Gamecube and I regret it.
1 - That sounds interesting, I still have major doubts over how it’ll be done though and even more characters just makes me more worried. Why not just use existing characters? The Outbreaks already have two characters that could honestly work.
Basically you had to incinerate the zombies or they come back stronger than they were before.I believe they also had the ability to follow you inside rooms
hey i heard a rumor that leon in RE4 was supposed to have a “Power” in one of his hands that got cut out at the last minute… anybody know anything about this?
Capcom has said that the game will be a “couple dozen hours in length” so I know there’s a lot they can cover in the game. I doubt it will be less than full price ($49) because of this.
Well the Hong Kong comic for Code Veronica released in English a few years back is actually good. Yeah I know, a Hong Kong video game based comic being good WTF… but it is. So an anime along those lines could work. The HK comic was a little too close to the game with finding weapons and solving puzzles and stuff like that, seems funny in something that’s not a video game after a while. Other than that it was great. Never played Veronica myself though but people who have tell me it’s very dead on.
There was a few American comic magazines of Resident Evil too, top tier art with Jim Lee doing one of the covers, but nothing major or memorable.
I thought it was a cool play mechanic at the time, since Chris already had the lighter anyway, but I think it would have been MUCH more practical to, say, put the barrel of a .45 next to the downed zombie’s cranium and ventilate its head. No need for pyrotechnics, no worries about crimson turbo zombies. What REALLY fucking annoyed me about REmake was the ‘One Dangerous Zombie’ scenario that was mandatory after your first all-clear. I stabbed the fucker with my knife just to see if they achieved maximum phail with the idea and, sure enough, he exploded the entire mansion when I stabbed him with a fucking Ka-bar combat knife. That crap really bumped REmake down my favorites list.
