Eh I’m fine with the change as long as it’s a good game. Niggas forget that Resident Evil is an innovator. They started with the fixed camera angles, shit got a little stale, flipped the shit to over the shoulder which breathed a little life into the game(As far as RE 4 and Revelations series is concerned), shit spawned a whole league of spiritual successors (Dead Space series, Evil Within, etc…) and now they’re trying something else. Other developers have gotten inspiration for their games from the series. Don’t see why RE can’t bite some inspiration from other games(Outlast, and PT are what people are throwing around now).
VR will be a requirement for this one. That only thing that sucks is that these companies never make use of their accessories(Just like Kinect 2 was supposed to be the next big thing, but might as well be shelved). I’m gonna be pissed if I spend $300+ on a VR set and no good games are consistently released.
Lol people who dislike first person/FPS get rekt. Unless you’re that Xvideos guy who gets motion sickness from playing FPS games. That sucks man, you’re missing out on so many great games.
More like you failed The Evil Within by not bothering to learn the game and its awesome mechanics. Remember, the guy behind TEW was the main guy behind RE1. I liked TEW more than the Revelations games.
Also lol @ “im done with the genre” immediately followed by “ill stick to revelations 2”
can’t say it’s the most original concept since metroid turned the genre on it’s head when metroid prime was released and look at how that turned out.
RE going first person isn’t too surprising with the PT demo beating it to the punch back in 2014.
it showed how the genre can accommodate a survival horror/supernatural thriller setting if done right.
Seems ripe for some kind of stalker mechanic being the main threat. If there’s a lot of enemies on that plantation I’d love to hear why they are even there. At least the accident in the secret laboratory thing was a somewhat passable reason to place a lot of enemies in that building.
So it’s Silent Hill in first person view. I’m fine with that I guess, though Capcom has been letting me down without fail this decade, so I don’t have high hopes for this to be good.
Capcom were quick to pick up on the P.T hype and that’s a good thing if they want to make the RE games somewhat scary again , and since NOBODY else is making a “P.T” this is a pretty smart and strategical move from Capcom. They are appealing to fans and are at the same time flipping the bird @ konami.
First person , some juicy guns , heartstopping jumpscares , GORE (wishful thinking) , EXPLODING HEADS (wishful thinking)… Plz !
Games like this are what can manage to make me excited for VR.
Played the demo a couple of times. I found an axe during one of my playthroughs so there will definitely be combat in some form in this game. It did nothing to stop me from being “welcomed to the family”. You’ll get different item depending on what you do first which is cool.
Leon is battle hardened at this point, but prior to Resident Evil 5 he really wasnt all that.
Jill and Barry are probably OG resident evil for the simple fact that they have spent a good part of the series doing shit alone and surviving by the skin of their teeth. Especially Jill after the destruction of Racoon City, and then during the events of Desperate Escape in RE5. The only criminal thing is how they made her a blonde after being ironically brunette.
And lets give an honorable mention to Sheva Alomar for being a ride-or-die that never played a damsel in distress accompanying Chris in Africa. I wanted to see more of her she was pretty cool.
