‘Survival horror’ market too small for Resident Evil, says Capcom producer

Seriously though this whole ‘we absolutely have to appeal to the west’ thing is starting to annoy me…especially when you’re going ‘survival horror doesn’t sell like call of duty so there isn’t a market for it’.
If they go back to the standard that RE4 set (which i get that feeling RE6 will by the trailer), then the numbers will come. Thats the reason why RE5 was just “aight”. It got too caught up in being more action instead of balancing the action and horror elements. Also the story for Resident Evil made it to where it got too big to be simply a survival horror game.

That’s pretty much all I want from them is to have the balance that 4 and Revelations have within their respective games. When they say stuff like that in that interview though it just makes me shake my head because I know all the companies want CoD money and if that means forgoing any sense of what the series was about then they’ll try to do it.
I own it, story campaign is super short but the story does tie in some parts from re2/re3 if you played those games which Im sure everybody has then you say oh wow so this is what was going on when i did this.
Im guessing the focus on this game was multiplayer. I enjoyed it plus if you want a challenge game has it.
The Challenge for me was the stupid A.I that my team members just stand around and don’t do anything and die. Then I have to risk my Life trying to revive all of them.

RE:ORC is hilariously bad as a whole, if you like it then it is fine I guess. Not worth 60 bucks imo, wait for the price to drop at least. I will probably trade it in next week tbh, kicking lickers is an insult to the franchise. As much as I can blame slant six for the game it’s Capcom’s fault trying to appeal to western audiences like Sonichuman stated. Multiplayer is the best part of the game but has tons of balance issues and bugs. I posted about my multiplayer experiences in the PSN thread but save your money and wait for RE6.

I am at the point where I killed 2 tyrants and now in some kind of umbrella lab. how far am I from beating the game? just wanna get it over with so I can delete it…
I can only play around 2 hours before bed time. because I get a royal headache from motion sickness and pass out weeeeee:sleep:
Halfway I guess? There are only 6 stages the game is 5-6hrs.

this game is purely “what-if”.
and it sucks.
If your’re not gonna have people to play this with then definitely pass.
But if you’ve got a squad together its pretty enjoyable, but still not great.
RE:ORC is the worst RE game I have ever played…but it is somewhat salvageable with four people…

I know it’s about 90%what if but there are small parts that were in the background from re2 and re3. I did a r.e. run from 1 to 5 no side games like code V. but 2 and 3 in this game there were small parts not big ones small ones that tied in that i liked.
I will agree that it could have been a lot better, IMHO I was waiting for a re game where you clean up versus survive.
CVX isnt a side game.

No disrespect i like code v i was saying no side games like games w/o numbers. I did a play through of 1-5.
