You prey to your god while I pray that you never reproduce. (j/k)
in other news, yeah, Instantly thought Drake and I could’ve sworn I saw the guy from the RE:ORC game with the Middle Eastern scarf on pushing back Chris.
RE: Revelations demo is sick, surprisingly camera and controls are fine with just circle pad and face buttons. I’m surprised aim mode default view is 1rst not 3rd person which I like better. I guess they trying to really sell the 3d also I suggest turning up 3d slider in options to very strong makes for a nice pop to visuals.
Dont take this the wrong way…but what you want Resident Evil to do as a series is revert back to its old style, something that cant happen for two reasons:
1-The storyline has evolved from the “zombie” to the evolved “plagas” virus which gives its host rational thinking and decision making skills. They are able to run and use weapons, communicate and open doors…etc etc. On top of that we saw in Resident Evil 5 the pharmaceutical companies were dealing with black market merchants who were secretly developing more evolved types of “enemies” that push the boundaries in BOW technology. Essentially they were TRYING to make enemies that are as smart as humans and as effective as monsters. Any hopes that you have of zombies that drag their feet as they pile up like barnacles trying to chase you down a crowded hallway are over. If anything that would be the least fun experience you could imagine in this game. Its all about the enemies that can stalk you, the enemies who can take a barrage of bullets and keep coming at you. I’ll sacrifice sub-par “horror” from 1998 that wouldnt be as scary in today’s videogame world for some guns blazing action with hints of the old jeepers creepers style. On THAT note…the ADD enemies that can run, and NOW they have enemies that can jump…just to make you more aware of ho wmuch of a threat they can be, and this doesnt please you? This is why I’m confused at the rant.
2-Resident Evil 1-3 were scary because the system didnt allow much more than a 180 degree turn with limited bullets and even less room to move away. Yes it was creepy, but it was also annoying because you had to really conserve ammo to the point where it was better to just run past enemies in some spots. The earlier Resident Evil games taught you about ammo conservation but the element of danger and fear werent actually in something jumping out at you, because those moments are STILL in tact within the Resident Evil franchise, the scare in the old games came from the thought of you spending your last clip of magnum and shotgun rounds on a boss, and now you’re fucked because you have a knife and some shitty handgun bullets.
There isnt a Resident Evil fan on the planet with a brain who thinks Resident Evil 5 was SCARY. We do however thinks that it has it moments. And for every part that wasnt “scary” there is an equally satisfying adrenaline rush from one of the many scenarios you were thrown in.
Again, the series COULD stand to have more moments of fright, but they have done a lot of things to make the game scary, its just not THAT scary and its not going to be, most of us are adults now.
PS-I thought the mines and the shanty town cargo maze were creepy. But I’m tired of defending this series.
I dunno. I might be in the minority that thought the controls didn’t add anything special. Maybe at first, during RE 1. After a little while with the game they were second nature(to me). I can see how it would be for some, I guess.
I wish RE 5 had moments. The Mine was the only area that I felt like I should actually be careful walking through. The rest was the rush I get while I play CoD. Not the, “oh shit we’re fucked” feeling I had playing through the cabin section in RE 4. smh. It had nothing to do with co-op either. sigh…
The trailer for RE6 really wowed me. It looks like it’s got potential to be great, some of the new moves and things shown off look great.
I’m a little concerned about the fact that it might be centered totally around action (was hoping for half action, half survival horror at least) but I still think it will be great fun.
From the looks of it, Leon’s and maybe the potential Wesker clone/kid’s side of the game seems to probably be the more traditional survival horror, while Chris and possibly again maybe the potential Wesker clone/kid’s side are going to be the action side of things.Either way, the zombies getting shot, cut or kicked in the mouth.
Going by Resident Evil Umbrella chronicles, he patched her up and pretty much in a roundabout way guided her out of Raccoon City before the town got nuked.
