Pft, fuck those lightweights.
Barry Burton needs his own game, Gaiden doesn’t count, Leon Kennedy’s role as sidekick in that brought the whole game down.

I been sayin Barry needs his own game since forever now. He really does. Him and Hunk.
Hunk couldn’t have saved that game…Gaiden…just never happened, sorry Barry.
But guys, remember, only two characters have ever had their own game, Jill and Leon. You think Barry deserves one before Chris (yes…this means you have to admit Sheva exists)?
Hunk could get his own as a spinoff, but what would you have him do? Isn’t he out of the job with Umbrella out of business?
Sadly Barry will not get his own title, the amount of awesome and death defying drama packed into the game would single handily end the worlds existence.
I expect Hunk to pop up in whatever that 3rd person shooter coming out is called. Rumors circulating he is in there so we’ll see.
Hunk would be the most versatile, story wise since he’s pretty much nothing more then a Merc. Dude loses his whole team on most missions to.
And people pretend Sheva doesn’t exist? I liked her. She’s not a bad character.
Sheva is not bad at all. Good character. Your AI experience doesnt mean shit.
We need to see Billy’s crazy adventures after 0. FACT.
HUNK can’t protect anyone but himself, and tbh, I dont know if I wanna play as him a FULL GAME.
Billy is sitting at a bar getting drunk reminiscing about the good old days when he defeated a giant maggot monster with a pre-teen cop he put the moves on. Roll fucking credits.
Sheeva is okay, if only for her being tap-able and her accent is hot.
I don’t mind Sheva because I didn’t have to deal with the AI lol. But I don’t need no zombie/BOW rookie with me. I need someone I know can get the job done.
Also, yeah, whatever happened to Coen? I doubt he’s just off the map not giving a crap what’s going on. Besides, I’m sure in the back of his mind, he hates the fact he didn’t nail Rebecca lol.
Oldie but goodie

I always just assumed Coen decided to lay low since he’s still a wanted convict afterall. Barry having his own game would be a dream come true but that’s about as likely as Steve Burnside getting his own game.
So I watched RE4.5, which was supposed to be a beta version of RE4…all I have to say is, wow, it certainly reminds me of Silent Hill.
Somehow stopping a BOW disaster, and likely having the entire BSAA backing him up (I would assume Rebecca told Chris about what went down), I think Coen should be in the free and clear.
And Barry has a better shot than Steve…I mean, for one, he’s not dead.
Which version? Resident Evil 4 had like four previous versions before finally being settled on, one of which was DMC.
May favorite was the hooked hand man one, I’d like to see him as a villain revisited.
Yeah, that’s the funny part. All those RE4 ideas…and all of them were actually good it seemed.
Yeah those were real interesting.
The only one I was skeptical on was the original, where Leon infiltrated the main Umbrella headquarters and was infected with the “Shadow” thing, and the game dealt with light/dark elements. Interesting, but a little peculiar.
RE I think has the most interesting dropped ideas, Hell Resident Evil 1.5 looks like the shit to me, I’d LOVE for that to be an easter egg in a future RE title since it was pretty much done (I’d say 80%?) before it was scrapped.
I was referring to this one:
RE 1.5 definitely looked interesting, and there were some things that were reused in the final product of the game (i.e. music, a few of the stage areas, and Sherry). Not too sure if it would have done as well as RE2 did though. The story would certainly have been different with no Claire Redfield.
RE 4.5 looks boss, like I said. My brother would love this type of game.
And again, it adds the one thing people seem to love. Fear of the unknown, which the…sort of fixed camera does. That probably wouldn’t have been as scary if the Shoulder Aim was permanent.
Yeah that is the hooked hand man version, he was supposed to be a persistent enemy throughout the game as Leon unraveled the mystery. That game looked amazing, don’t know why it was scrapped either. While I enjoy the final product of RE4 I don’t like the direction the series took from that point onward (Realistically CV, but that game still had some grounded elements and Horror themes built in).
RE 1.5 also had a talking Birkin monster, and seemed more involved in the story throughout the game.

EDIT: 1.5 fun facts I remember:
The game took place once more mostly in the Police Station, but while you searched for clues and a way out you had to defend the station from zombie assaults by using the gates barricades and other such stuff to hold out. The more time passed they would break in (Seen in the video) and make things harder for you.
Both Leon and Elza were given a partner character, two characters who would pop back up in RE2 in smaller roles. The gun shop owner Robert Kendo (Famous owner of the Kendo shop and maker of the Samurai Edge along with Barry) as “John”, and Leon had Marvin the Steve Urkel cop who zombies you.
Leon and Elza had separate campaigns and never met.
The game had dropped ideas that were explored again later. Upgradable gear and Body Armour, which allowed you to carry more gear (A method like this was used in RE2 and such with the Back Pack) and defensive weapons that could be used for a quick escape or to get out of a sticky situation (REmake employed this).
