technically they can show them but cutscenes just waste time when doing a speedrun
if youre doing a speedrun you wanna use every second you can to finish the game
Speedruns are tough,especially when many of them don’t bother saving the game at all.
I watched the RE:Code Veroinca X run yesterday,and the guy had all of the scenes included,but he didn’t save the game at all.Dangerous considering the 1st time you fight Alexis she can kill you in 1 hit.

Carlos helped her ass out tremendously in Resident Evil 3.If it wasn’t for Carlos saving her she would have probably become another Birkin type mutant or a Nemesis.
Plus Barry helped her out in the original Resident Evil (Jill sandwich anyone?)
She’s good,but I wouldn’t rank her over somebody like Claire,who was only 19 years old during the events of Resident Evil 2 IIRC.She didn’t have any military background save for what we can assume her brother probably taught her on the side.
Anyway,I hope Resident Evil 4 isn’t the last of Leon.He still has to tie up loose ends with Ada.Side character or not,she is still alive,and she is Leon’s primary interest.

actually speedruns are easy because by the time the player thinks theyre capable of doing a speedrun most of the time they will know the game in and out and all the puzzles/traps/etc and know how to beat all the bosses
for re3 its a little harder seeing how the game is randomized

They are good at what they do.I just don’t see how they could go through the game without saving at all.A death late in the game on some bullshit like a radomn Nemesis pop-uup at a bad time would grind my gears.
On the subject of RE2,I watched a video of a guy that simultaneously beat the game as Leon and Claire.No he didn’t play as them at the same time,but he beat the game and edited all of the footage in a way that we would know who was doing what at a specific time
He even cut out door animation loading times,the menu screens,and he purposely made it seem like sometimes one character was struggling(In particular Mr.X).At the point after Leon is shot and goes unconscious,Mr.X becomes tougher after he wakes up.Everything plays out like a movie.

Been a while since I have played it.Capcom needs to come out with a collection of all the important games in 1 bundle.I know that a few of them were re-released on the Gamecube.

Shitty speedruns are easy. But those that can actually compete with stuff up on SDA and Twin Galaxies take a lot of time and effort. Months of constantly replaying the same game to the point where you grow to hate it.
I know I could never force myself to do those types of speedruns, so props to those who can.

Capcom hasn’t said anything about Steve in RE5. The IMDB entry is probably wrong. Someone added in Jill as a character just for fun and some of those voice actors haven’t heard of the game (like Osmund Saddler). Steve probably won’t be in RE5. Don’t worry. There’s no confirmation since that site that was linked in the PS3 thread had referenced the IMDB site and reported it as confirmed news. Tara Platt said herself that she is not working on RE5, just Umbrella Chronicles where she plays the Red Queen. That article still lists Tara Platt as a voice actor despite her saying she wasn’t in it and this person admitting to adding her to prove IMDB’s unreliability.

It’s been a while since I have played Veronica,but I do remember Wesker referencing Steve towards the end of the game,and how “He would make a fine sample”.
