Resident Evil 6

ya , i know man. i’m just not very good with the timing of them and whenever i go for it i end up just draining my health and on top of that losing alot of time.

I presume as long as Capcom keeps making action games with the RE/Biohazard name on it.

They are never going to get over it.

I noticed a lot of aesthetic details that made no sense. Like, early on in Leon’s campaign, you walk through some guy’s house. The news is on the TV and the reporter, though his mouth is moving, has no real animation and looks worse than a puppet. But that’s not the point. If you look around the house, there are no bedrooms or hallways that can lead to a bedroom. Capcom made a house that only has a side door, back door, and living room.

It does take practice. For me I started with getting the timing down for enemies with weapons in their hands. Then I started working on countering regular zombies. Once it starts to become second nature it’s awesome. I just hate that that stage forces you to do so many.

after watching Ex vid I gotta get my skills up i get to my magic number of 80-90 kill combo and there’s that one fucker that dont die lol. I finally learned not to rage quit trying to get all 150 lol.

If I can get to 91 kills im good till 130 then its really a wrap lol.

Man, after I finished all campaigns I noticed it didnt count chapter 1 of Leon cause I played online right after that person had started. So I re did it and got damn that shit felt like it took forever and played out way to long for a fucking chapter. THAT WAS ONE LONG ASS BORING CHAPTER. even with me rushing

I especially hate how game game forces me to walk so often. Again, why is this neccesary? Did the game think we wouldn’t take in the scenery if we could move at our own speed?

hey i went over to a buddy’s to fire this up on some split screen co-op shit but couldnt figure out how to do it. any help?

What happened with RE6 is that it tried to bite off too much from other third person shooters that were inspired by RE4. Really strange state off affairs. Instead of drawing more from their own DNA they start siphoning off from the second tier offspring.

  • Like slowing down to walk and talk to your handlier. In Gears this is always done after or before a big fire fight and the talking and walking doesn’t last that long. These moments move the story forward and set the stage for the next battle. RE6’s seem to be done at just really bad times. They feel out of place for some reason.

  • Another thing that RE6 does poorly is how it forces you to look at shit. In Gears (and I think even Lost Planet 2) your character won’t look at that plane crashing down unless you press a button that forces the camera in that direction. That’s the smart way of going about it. If we want to see some crazy real time event then give us an option. Don’t force us. RE6 makes it as jarring as possible.

  • And of course the crappy cover system. Like I don’t even mind the world going blurry when you are in cover but once you start aiming from it’s actually pretty annoying. They should have taken more notes from like, everyone, on how to do cover shooting right.

Did you try starting a campaign? After you choose which campaign you want to play it’s literally the next question (along with difficulty) that the game asks you. And the option for split screen mercs is on the main mercs screen.

BIG QUESTION TO ALL YOU RE6 PLAYERS!
Would you have minded if Left Click/L3 was the sole sprint button with A/X being instant ducking (along with a direction to roll and slide appropriately)?

(So no need to actually hold L trigger/L1 to activate your slide. You simply sprint forward then press A/X to slide.)

The reason I ask is that I’m finding it “easier” to just click in the left analog stick and sprint because it allows my right thumb to control the right analog stick so I can make tighter turns and generally just have more control over my direction. I think this is a case where the redundancy in buttons was a missed opportunity in refining the controls further.

Bonus Question: Who else is finding that the classic 180 move doesn’t work as well as it used to?

Just start a campaign, and at the screen before you pick which character you want to be (I think), scroll down once and choose “split”. You can’t do split screen co-op in the demo btw, if that’s what you were playing (just to make sure).

'Just beat the campaigns the other day. Wasn’t too bad. I guess my biggest gripe are the QTEs or events that you can’t possibly see coming the first time through so it’s a luck reaction and kind of a waste of time that may add to your death count… that’s annoying.
Also, I switched my controls to classic style before I played through and I don’t think the cover system works too well with those controls. The other controls are fine when you get the hang of them though.

I do like busting out WWE shit on zombies a lot and found myself having to mix melee attacks and firepower often when fighting and I like that balance. However I didn’t really feel the need to run and avoid enemies that often and you’re almost never in true danger (surprise QTEs are more dangerous lol). That’s something the series lost since RE3/CV. Also there was a certain charm to finding all these special types of keys and objects to unlock doors and solve puzzles. I like the game but I’d be happier if they put more of that back in. I DON’T miss ink ribbons though. I think RE4 got it right with deliberate save points where you could choose to save, but also with checkpoints to respawn at if you die instead of forcing you all the way back to the title screen.

Anyway I haven’t played Mercs mode yet (haven’t played Mercs in general since RE4), so I’m looking forward to that.

I just sat down for like, 30+ minutes, waiting for someone to join for coop and no one did. What the fuck man? I’ve had to wait less time for a match in SG. And playing the first part of Leon’s campaign again, but rushing through it (mini speed run), the slowness of it is very apparent. The game tries to immerse you in the setting, but it forces you to do so. As the player, I shouldn’t be forced to do something I don’t want to do because that’s not fun. I start looking at the part as less of it trying to be creepy and more of it taking away control from me.

Because modern game designers are under the delusion that they are making movies instead of games. Lots of gamers are under this delusion to. Same people who think the “Games are art” discussion is a worthwhile discussion.

nah man it was the real game. my boy just bought it, popped it in, there was a title screen with no options and the game started single player… does he have to beat that first bit of the game before i can join or no?

Yeah he has to beat that first. It’s just a short prologue.

So yeah I heard RE6 did about 2 million in sales so far. Don’t know whether thats good or bad.

IIRC, 7 million was the goal. Not sure what time span though, would be pretty funny if that was the projected number for just the first month.

I wouldnt join your game either…lol

Got to remember you’re not the only one playing online and also depends what your settings are on/chapter you are on. Game is still kinda new so some people may not be on the chapter/campaign you’re on.

I’ve beat the entire game so when I hop online to mess around I only look for “serious players only” and veteran/professional. No infinite ammo and preferably no agent hunt.

Which reminds me, I find it so stupid when people play on fucking Amateur with infinite ammo and say “serious players only” take your seriously scrub ass somewhere else lol

Idk even know how people can play on Amateur, Normal is already easy.

They be scrubs.
