Because it bears practically no resemblence to the previous Re games. Some people are ok with that, but most aren’t. Different strokes, different folks.

Well, that’s fine but that is the reason. And you can’t expect people who have been playing the game since 1996 to unanimously be okay with the direction of the series. The game has already gone througha major overhaul and the fans were overwhelmingly pleased so it isn’t like they are adamantly opposed to change. It’s just that in this case most players seem to feel like the game is just all around bad. If you think the game is great than by all means happy gaming! But you’re going to hear that “excuse” a lot because that IS the reason.
To be fair, the older games had a lot going on that made them good. Stuff that would still work today with slight adjustments. But capcom wants to appeal to the COD market so…
at least hate it for what it is, not what it isnt.

People are hating it for what is, a crappy 3rd person shooter. The nostalgia only makes people hate it more.
A lot of people have said that Leon and Ada’s section are good, so it’s clearly a problem with the other half of the game where it gets really COD that people take exception to.
People tell me not to look at it with nostalgia goggles. That’s actually impossible for me seeing as I started RE with 4, but if I pretend I started with 3, and then take off the goggles, RE6 actually gets worse.
I only played Leon’s part, and I thought it was average. I have a big problem with the OTG attacks in the game. They should really be two seperate buttons. As is, you have to walk up to a downed opponent and wait for the prompt that may or may not come. If it doesn’t come you then have to desperatly attack which will more than likey make your character do a roundhouse kick 6 feet above the enemy so they get a free counter hit. shit is a mess.
When people argue that the old games had bad controls, I think they mean to say they just don’t like the high learning curve. Once you play a bit, the characters do exactly what you ask, unlike in RE6.
I still want a full blown separate The Mercenaries game. The controls are too far from being perfect in RE6. All we need is a $15 downloadable title for all the major consoles… Capcom could even bring in Dino Crisis and Onimusha characters for maximum moist dick!
Yea. Also have super hidden bosses like Tyrant, Nemeisis, Alexia, Ukastak…Wesker?? Have all characters from 0-6 and like 3 maps from each game.
Would be too dope.
Anyway, im kinda interested in the paid dlc coming soon. Predator sounds fun. So does Siege and Survivors was altered somewhat.

I keep telling people from a narrative standpoint, Chris’s campaign makes sense since he’s part of the BSAA which is out the quelch bioterrorism.
They could’ve made a situation where Chris was ambushed and was separated or the only surviving member of his team, and stuck in some dark, mysterious area with little ammo. And they could’ve played his PTSD into gameplay by making him hallucinate at times.

If they were making a game focused on his quest like RE5, I’d buy into that type gameplay.
