Yeah they did find something in there about that but until someone can confirm that it’s an option for the end user to change it’ll all be for naught.
And tinkering with the settings in the demo DOES NOT fix the field of view issue.
Yah yah when has anyone ever complained about changing their controls to suit their needs? I don’t think that will ever be an issue at all. Especially on SRK when we have to do that with like every fighting game to match all our picky button placements on our sticks. In fact the issue of not having more customization controls has been raised in the gaming community for those with disabilities. That would be like me complaining that I have to invert my aiming all the time (which btw, on the 360 you can set that as a default game option but very few developers use it).
Yeah the graphics being a bizarrely muddy and dark mess with low res textures and low framerates is quite strange considering how much of a looker RE5 was and most MT Framework games are. Not sure what the hell happened here. It’s like if RE5 were Mass Effect 3 and RE6 is Mass Effect 1 in terms of graphically fidelity. But worse.
I think my final word on all of this will be said by some guy from the Capcomunity forums:

Like I hadn’t realized it so much until I read that but when you aren’t aiming hitting down on the analog stick doesn’t make your character back up. You start running towards the screen but the camera is still too close. Same as how you don’t strafe but you start walking/running left or right (and that’s after a little weird spin in place).
So really the :d:+A 180 turn is really more about turning the camera around and not so much the character. Like he said, in those games where you run in any direction the camera is much further back giving you a clearer view of your surroundings. So when you start running towards the screen you can see what you are running towards. You can’t run toward the screen in games like RE5, Gears of War 3, and Mass Effect. The camera is always right behind you because the scope of your environment is smaller. Hmmm, now I can’t wait to dig into the final game. Must study more…
I recall a few pages back. Regardless there are lots of tears and to be one of the people who enjoyed this out the box its just a drag to read. Like some trolls on gamefaqs were complaining about the zombie jumping so far and the invisible wall in chris’ demo…blah.
Brb…apparently all the hardcore cool kids are doing knife/meelee only runs in Leons demo, including killing EVERY zombie at the end while running to the police car.
My ego is so bruised im about to try this shit. Im going to be so OG when the game comes out.
I was kind of fine with the camera, only was an issue in a couple of spots. Main thing that annoyed me was outside of Leon and the zombie bunch shooting enemies felt like it did nothing, no impact or any kind of reaction really. Sometimes I thought I just missed but there would be a little splash to confirm I was hitting the targets, just felt…I dunno…anti-climactic.
Also not being able to shoot trolling zombies on the floor when I clearly know they will be getting up if I pass by them is supremely stupid, considering it was a viable option in just about any other RE.
Was ok, I don’t have that many complaints, but I’m not about to run out and buy this for full price.
The release date for this is near. Not sure if this was been mentioned yet. There are quite a few pre-order offers going around in different places. Hmmmm…
What does everyone think of these? What do you guys think is the best offers or what would you choose? Seems like it’s just different Mercenaries Stages and etc…
These offers are for both PS3 and Xbox 360.
Also, I’m not going to bother getting the Anthology/Archives versions of the game(since I already have all the previous RE titles).
Man, fucking jumping zombies cause me to rage so hard. They’re messing up my no damage / knife run. The knife part is easy as hell, but I just can’t seem to not get hit. Lawl. I feel like my lack of knowledge in regards to countering, is stopping my progress.
Can you avoid that zombie that flies at you when you open the door? Do the zombies ever stop coming in the very last segment? I felt like I was there all day killing shit, before I decided to go on about my life.
I think I want to try knife only on Chris’ campaign. I dunno if I’m one enough with the battle system yet. lol. I still take to much damage if I try and kill them all up close in the end. I ate like 3 rpgs to the face…
So I played the demo a few more times. I am trying to get used to default controls, but am still having trouble with the cover and everything. I played with online co-op and it was pretty cool. If anyone is on PSN and wants to add me to play later I am Djhyperkid. I am wondering how old this demo really is, because I can’t see Capcom releasing the final product like this. I think all in all it will be a great game, I just have to get used to the fact that it isn’t 4 or 5.
So, I don’t know if Chris’ should even count as knife only, considering how many homies he’s rolling with, but I did it. I took a ridiculous amount of damage from the boss, because I’m not sure how to approach it with the knife, and the segment with the truck, thanks to carelessness.
Thanks to the FOV, I can’t really tell what attacks the mini-boss is doing while I’m on the ground (wasn’t checking for sound cues). Can’t see shit. Seems like he has:
-an OHKO if you let him charge his foot up in the air?
-Acid dropping from his stomach?
-A swipe with a large ass amount of range. If it misses, then you get stunned by wind
-A regular kick
Didn’t seem like I could knife him at certain angles. Also kinda hard to judge distance to see what was connecting. It’s hella disorienting trying run beneath him and what not, thanks to how close the camera is. I think I stunned him once or twice, but I couldn’t really tell, nor did I have enough time to make it up there to his arm. It feels like they really don’t want you to fight him that way.
While in the area up the stairs, with the pipe, it was a little easier. Had the same problems judging distance with the knife. All in all, time ran out before I could initiate the QTE. I’ll have another go at it again later.
If this was pro-mode or even hard, I probably would have died ten times over. heh. That stun you get for getting shot is going to cause a lot of problems…
