It’s funny about all this talk about EPIC games, I really dislike this gen. they’re just playstation 2 games with the notches turned up
the lack of VR hype disturbs me. imagine Resident Evil VR :amazed:

Don’t diss the PS2 era, dude.
who said I was dissing the ps2 era I like ps2
He dislikes that nothing has really changed. Very few devs take advantage of the better hardware and instead make PS2 games but with the fluff stuff turned up.
I am aware you are probably aware of this.
What exactly was supposed to change?
No clue. That’s not my job.
Shevas probably dead cause shes black. And shes never coming back. I think Capcom just wants to act like RE 5 didn’t happen. Kinda like Stallone and Rocky 5. Retcon city baby.
Or again, since people seem to have a meh memory, it’s due to the fact Ada transformed his entire squad in monsters while he couldn’t do anything. That, on top of the whole RE5 incident, broke him down. And he was already a bit jaded in RE5.
tldr, but yeah, shame sheva is gone. she was the finest piece of re ass ever, and that south african accent. oh my . if i have to kill her in re6 because shes a zombie, im going to hardcore rape an capcom employee. LOL
Sheva would have been AWESOME in mvc3…far better than weak-ass Jill. Level 3 Poison Arrow ftw.
Where is the proof that she is dead? Since when do main characters die in RE and stay dead at that?
Edit: Not including Wesker.
The only way Wesker is coming back is by the ol’ cloning process ploy.
The demos for RE6 at SDCC are new. Gaf thread has links up the collection of vids on IGN
Not sure but I think they must have fixed the camera since I’m watching Jake’s gameplay right now and I can actually see around him.
Edit:
people on Gaf saying camera isn’t fixed so I guess I’m wrong on that.
Capcom community will have a stream starting today and through the weekend. Schedule is here.

Very wrong sadly.[media=youtube]6pyjiFOsrno[/media] Just watch RE5 footage (everyone watch some Mercs footage too)
You can still see in front of you when you aim. Not only that but Chris takes up much less space and it’s such a non-issue in RE4/5 that we don’t even talk about it because it was so well done. When you aren’t aiming and you are on the move the camera pulls back so you can get a better view. You can certainly see a full character’s width to your left and plenty of space to the right. RE6 looks like they are squeezing through vaginas all day the camera is so tight.
The fact of the matter is is that Capcom fucked it up. I’m not trying to troll or start some argument but it’s evidently clear that something got screwed up somewhere. Even if there are options in the final game to make the camera pull back off the character it shouldn’t have been done the way it is in the first place. You get the camera right two games in a row and then suddenly it changes and for the worse?

I can literally go all day with examples but I think after five different games everyone gets the picture. Fucking Capcom ughhh! [/details]
I see it now after comparing it to the RE5 vid. Looks like the camera only returns to RE4/RE5 standard when you’re moving and then gets closer than usually when you’re aiming. There’s no gap over the top of Jake’s head either to allow you to see over to the left side. That’s an easy fix…Capcom probably won’t fix it.
So far , there isn’t a damn thing that entices me to even want to begin Chris’ campaign. The more they show, the more it looks like a failed attempt at CoD and Gears, without any of the polish. On the other hand Leon’s section is starting to look like how I would have imagined an old RE game to look, when updated with modern controls and a camera. Chris’ campaign is starting to look really soulless in comparison, even up against Jake’s. It’s a damn shame too.
So, it looks like some of the enemies have three forms? Regular dudes with guns -> Mutated Creatures -> Crystallized Monsters(the few showcased acted like the Dino like necromorphs in DS2…oh joy). I wonder if you can break them out of their cocoons. It looked like he just jumped over it when he ran up to it?
Enemies seem to react to bullets as they should now, or so it seems. It still looks like the zombies have that weird moment when you kill them, before they drop.
Spoiler for an enemy found in the demo data:
[details=Spoiler] I wonder if Leon is going to get lighter fluid and a lighter for the zombies, or if you’re going to have to stomp them all in the head, or do your best for headshots. Even with the melee system, I’m still more worried about those bastard Crimson Heads, then the other creatures… >.> [/spoilers]
edit: They changed Jake’s Hud?
Not for nothing but isn’t Chris’s campaign supposed to be the run and gun CoD/Gears inspired gameplay since you know he’s a part of the BSAA? Just sayin.
It is. I don’t know if it’s because I just don’t like the direction, or because it doesn’t seem like Capcom even bothered trying to 1up the people that they’re letting influence them the most. It looks like Modern Warfare 3(the tank intro looks straight out of the European section) with monsters instead of Russians, with a much slower pace to the combat. Which is cool I guess, if Gears didn’t already have creatures doing similar stuff. I’ll* gladly* eat crow if it turns out to be better, but if they want a fan of those games to play through his campaign, the combat needs to be up to snuff, and the set pieces should probably be a bit different.
DS3 looks to be headed the same direction, but the level of fucked-up’d-ness (and more importantly, Identity), still seems to be on par for for it’s known for.
