Resident Evil 6

because if all the doors looked exactly the same players will keep running into them in hopes of it opening. hey while you’ve made all doors look the same why can’t we get in? I Want to Get IN.

anyway

having completed resi 2 I COMPLETELY understand what capcom are doing with resi 6

I’m liking the classic RE atmosphere in these first 20 minutes. I’m not feeling the waypoint marker. With the linear progression it doesn’t seem necessary

Someone on neogaf said that the waypoint markers and crosshairs can be toggled on and off if you don’t want them. I’m hoping that it’s true and we can hopefully confirm that when the demo comes.

This game actually keeps you in suspense when something happens…

When you hear a weird sound, they don’t immediately tell show you what it’s coming from…

I want RE6 now… I was about to overlook the shit out of this game…

Hope they took the co-op bullshit out… I want to play alone…

meh. you missed RE3: Nemesis Veronica and REmake.

after that, not much. this RE6 tries way too hard.

It’s the “Micheal Bay of Survival Horror”.

All I have to say is: Co-Op a la RE5 = Opt-Out, for me.

Ashley was tolerable, because her part was very limited, and you were protecting her, when you were not controlling her.

Shiva was a CoD player.

Fuck that shit.

If Capcom wants that in RE, they do not want my money.

“S-Kill was right.”

Capcom is out of its goddamned mind.

I really like what I saw from Leon’s first 20 minutes. I hope his campaign is the longest. :frowning:

One thing though. His inventory was way to fucking gdlk. Kinda outrageous how much green he had on him. I guess it’s like that for demo purposes? I know they said something about an upgrade system. Maybe some points can been sent to inventory space.

Don’t see how its trying way too hard when Capcom is pretty much giving what the fans wanted.

I’m in love with this game!!!

After seeing the first 20 mins I mean…

I can see what he means. Capcom is trying to please everyone with this game. Not just the fans who continue to complain about the lack of survival horror.

Unlike RE5 the co-op doesn’t seem to be forced in this game. In the 20 minute walkthough, Leon’s partner didn’t do shit and wasn’t present most of the time. The escort put in more work than she did.

I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with trying to please everyone. Obviously they know there were people who genuinely enjoyed the action aspect of RE5(me included) BUT they do know that people want that Survival Horror aspect to the game(Again me included) so they threw those aspects in as well.

Thats unfair to a degree since that game was given reviews about 15 years ago and one really cant give it an unbiased review anyway since RE5 is compared to RE4 and even then 2 and 5 are too different.

If i could play 2 like in 4 style then i would no doubt. Fuck old style RE.

I want a game thats more about puzzle solving and exploration. Not a game thats just a point a to point b shootfest. And I’m pretty sure thats what the older fans want too. I could care less about them bringing back the cheap thrills.

i’m sorry i just do not consider someone an RE fan when they say RE 4 and 5 are better than 0- code veronica
not saying RE 4 and 5 were bad sure they were fun but there is no way those games were better.

RE4 is definitely better than Zero. There was a lot of things in Zero that was down right retarded. How Rebecca managed to get to turntable evaluator and underground lab from RE2 from the Arklay Mountains which is on the outskirts of the city for instance. No chests to keep your items in was crap.

Exploration didn’t go away. RE4 and RE5 still had plenty of it. Straying from the path provided good rewards. From money, extra ammo, emblem locations to complete that particular side objective, rare treasure (RE4) and finding new weapons. Outside of cheap thrills, the puzzle solving is what the new game needs.

well there might actully be some puzzles in it. if your going on the memory of resident evil 2 the “puzzles” were so easy I didn’t even realize there were any puzzles at ll, seriously I felt like there wasn’t one moment where I stopped to think, I think there were two points where I headed in the wrong direction

wait but don’t you play fighting games? maybe all games should be like rachet and clank or jak and daxter

the first part of this clip with leon was a homage to House of the Dead 4

the chris part shows the dive mechanic will be very useful

and the wesker jr part shows you might get the same feeling you got from resi 3

these are the things you need to pay attention to- The Feeling. too many people just look for surprises. in this day and age we have come so far in divergent thinking, certain things aren’t gonna scare us anymore. the angle they’re taking right now is the correct one

they would have to make some MAJOR enhancements in pre rendered backgrounds for resident evil 2 REmake to work. some of the textures in leons mansion part look really good so we may get with this game the same effect REmake left.

im pretty impressed with what they’ve done. just hope it’s move compatible  I actually think the original release date was nov so they could also release it on the wii U at the same time, but I think Nintendo has other plans, probably will release Zombie U first then have a tweaked version of resi 6 come out 2013

EDIT:

omg I just realised, Wii U with single screen co op :amazed: thank you nintendo

I love that trying to bring key elements of the majority of its predecessors is “trying too hard,” but if Capcom chose to ignore the elements you wanted RE6 is a shit game.

People just refuse to be satisfied.

or people refuse to read with comprehension.

RE1-RE3 were scary for their times, RE6 is not scary and the demo proved it in 2012. turning the lights off, have random white girls appear outta nowhere, “jump/startle scare” tactics is in fact “trying too hard”. that’s elementary shit with a over-sized budget.

If you’re trying to recapture the past then RE6 isn’t doing it right. I’m saying, raise the bar; not just go to depending on past accomplishments. It could be done better. This is a movie and not a gaming experience.
