If what you mean as DLC being an extra mission starring Carla I’d have to say that that’s pretty lame. I’m already playing as Ada wtf do I need to be Carla for? Carla is lame. I hope that trite shit never comes back.
With 4 campaigns I’m not seeing any strong reason to have any single player DLC. All the blanks of the story get filled in via the campaigns. I honestly rather them just focus on the Mercs content this time around. More maps and more characters and bring back new and old weapons alike (I need access to a mini gun, the RE2 sub machine gun, Barry’s gun, Becky’s fire spray, flame thrower, bow and arrow, etc.)
What’s wrong with Carla? Her character would have been a lot better if the game actually took the time to explain her reasons, and maybe other things, instead of cramming everything into files that explained more of the story and shoving in multiple characters and scenarios, thus having Carla as the crazy bitch wreaking havoc while calling herself Ada Wong.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind if they gave her a DLC, you know…

Resident Evil has always had those long files that elaborate further into the story without using up too many resources in the form of cut scenes and dialogue. I thought that was one of the best things about the series, seeing as its really cheap to do and really gives you the entire story.
They did it in interesting ways as well with the files in the form of actual things later in the series ie: flyers posted around the city, text messages and emails etc etc
It would have been better if Capcom kept the files like they always did but letting you find them throughout the game and storing them in a in-game menu for repeated reading instead of locking them away as a reward for the emblem hunt and having to exit the game to read the contents.
This. Having those files are fine, I tend to enjoy reading things like that. Other people hate things like that but I do enjoy it…you know when the interface for it is good. But they made it a pain in the ass for the files in this game for reasons I cannot fathom since background shit is even more important in this story than it was previously.

I dunno. I remember really liking RE6, but I havent played it in 2 months rotfl. I loved reading the lil gumball machines at the end. Like I found it interesting about how the Tall Oaks outbreak occurred etc etc

I can understand the disappointment but it was far from a terrible experience IMO. The game isn’t perfect and not quite RE4 good but is enjoyed myself and even liked the story.
Ultimately I’d give it a 8/10
On a side note I think we have a clear winner between Leon and Chris. It’s clear they are on par in terms of H2H but leon falls behind massively because he’s bitch made for Ada. The way he white knight her against Chris was disgusting…
I think ada finally did leon in which is odd cause leon did not come off nearly as pussy whipped in RE4.
Chris was just the typical angry grunt which has been his thing as far back as I can recall. The only time I stopped liking him was during his conversation with jake…like dude WTF.
Leon’s pretty much the man…until Ada shows up which unfortunately for him is every fucking time he has to do anything relevant to the series. It’d be nice for Leon to get a game without Ada fucking him up. She’s even showing up in his fucking movies…
Chris just became annoying and selfish, trying to hunt down Carla when the world’s well-being is at stake and basically ignored that. Plus, if she trolled him for that long, what the hell made him think basically starting a witch hunt solved anything, especially in the end she had missiles headed all over China, so in a way she basically got the last laugh. The conversation with Jake just caused a lot more shit, too.
I almost said RE4, but even she trolled him there. The only exception was 2, because that was practically her introduction game and she was under the alias of a woman looking for her reporter boyfriend. I just wish they used Leon for a role in Carla’s storyline, where she could have manipulated him while posing as Ada.
It’s just…ugh, it’s fine to have Ada around especially since with Wesker gone we need some kind of looming figure for the behind the scenes crap. But they don’t need to throw it in our face every two seconds that yes Ada and Leon love each other but they can’t be together. It’s really fucking annoying.
I mean, when RE6 was announced I wasn’t looking forward to more of the Leon/Ada story. I wanted to see how Leon dealt with essentially failing his mission and having another Raccoon City incident. I wanted to see how him and Chris would coexist considering their very contradicting styles and personalities. Instead his scenario became a lot more about Helena (which is fine, I actually like Helena for the most part) and he barely gets any interaction with Chris.
Leon needs time to develop himself without being attached to the hip with Ada. Chris has it without Wesker, let’s give Leon some courtesy there too. Ada can still be around doing things but let’s not have Leon know about it at least. Either that or wrap up their fucking love story in some way. Stop dragging it over the course of these games please in either case. Leon needs time to be badass on his own.
Matter of fact, Damnation was a good example even though I used it as a negative before. Ada was there and had her interaction with Leon but it wasn’t all consuming and Leon came into his own. He needs more of that, preferably in game form.
Speaking of Damnation, they need to bring back Svetlana as a villain. Someone able to give Ada a run for her money and take down Leon in a few seconds is a character you can’t just use once. I just hope they won’t pull an Excella/Carla twist. Can’t we just fight a human boss for once?
We do indeed need Svetlana back. Able to beat the shit out of the protagonists without being superhuman, and she also has the intellect and social powers to be a threat. Seriously, no one else was really touching Leon and Ada in hand to hand until her. If nothing else, put her in Mercs or some shit. She just cannot be a one-off. Especially since…you know, RE tends to like to kill off people that have no intention in using again and she’s still perfectly fine.
You can say that shit again. Killing off Excella still gets me warmed up.
