Resident Evil 6

I stopped reading after that comment…:bluu:

I think they should of had more large scale puzzles like the maze in jakes campaign, and the team pong moment in chris/spoiler.

If they work out how to do more of that it could be a good DLC pack at least. But I’m in the pre rendered camp. All games should be pre rendered unless your inside the game

I think I’ve been vocal enough about my dislike of the game, but honestly i didn’t think graphics were that big of an issue. The only time I looked at my screen thinking WTF was when Leon was running around that crypt in the rain, and it looked like the buildings were oozing out water.

I think a large part of getting away from puzzles is that they kind of don’t make a whole lot of sense realistically. I know talking about RE and realistic is like comparing apples and oranges, but why exactly did you have to collect gemstones to open the city hall gate, or collect chess pieces to get into the damn sewers? Because every architect is insane? Honestly though, realistic or not I do miss them and want them back.

PSN is suppose to get all the maps next week october 30th…

Even though I will most likely buy this game in the future, I will admit that the lengths of the boss fights are just outlandish, especially the final one. I swear when I was watching walkthroughs, it took about fifteen minutes to kill it. Not only that, it’s rather dragged, fatuous, and repetitive. It actually conflicts me whether to buy the game or not. Yes, Final Fantasy X had some pretty long boss fights, but at least the game told you when it was going to die.

And before I go into my thoughts on finishing watching Ada’s campaign, I will say one thing to the fan boy who can’t seem to keep Wesker’s dick out of their mouths: he’s not coming back. Adding the overdose of the virus that Chris and Sheva gave him in order to poison, the jet crash, Sheva skanking the hell of him, him sitting in a pool of scorching lava in a volcano, and the impact from the two missiles that were fired at him, **that man is dead. **In fact, I hope he doesn’t even come back. He’s had his run from about how many games now? I still remember in Code Veronica X, he whooped Claire’s ass for no apparent reason. :bluu: Shit, EXCELLA and CARLA both had great potential to being great villains if Capcom would stop turning female antagonists into stupid, love-drunken bimbos, though Carla did do a much better job than Excella. Excella had potential too, but look how they handled her.

That’s being said…

ADA’S CHAPTER IV CAMPAIGN

Spoiler

**Dat Carla boss fight. **

Capcom really outdone themselves this time. Everything nearing the end of this chapter leaves me almost speechless. Ada sympathizing with Carla exposed more of her character, but seeing her reactions to the transforming Carla also played parts in this. They were small reactions, but in a way it’s rather nice to see compared to her tranquil and stoic demeanor back in Resident Evil 4’s Separate Ways. The atmosphere in the boss fight gave off similarities to Silent Hill, with Carla spreading through the cracks of the poorly-lit ship, chasing you while her face appears in several areas. The escape grew more tense as you race through a hallway and run along the wall to outrun Carla who wants to eat you like a human drumstick. The dialogue between both her and Ada were also amusing in its own way, though it would had been nice to shred some light on why she wanted to be Ada so badly.

I’ll post about CH V later.

so yea…can we get some alt outfits as well? Did they mention anything like that with the patch or new dlc??

I disagree entirely. [details=Spoiler] I found the boss fight to be terrible actually, and a big reason is how they handled certain aspects of the story. So most of Carla’s backstory is (supposedly, I never personally checked) placed in files. Files aren’t read during gameplay, but in the special section. So when we get to this fight, all we know about Carla is she’s some evil woman whom had a connection to Simmons (having being created by her) and wants to destroy the world. In addition to this, while this may be myself personally, we’re led to believe that the only reason Carla is using Ada’s name, is to frame her for everything. She never shows even a hint of identity crisis throughout the entire game until that moment, and because of that, it makes the fight forced. She starts going crazy, spouting out that she’s “the real Ada Wong”. But there was nothing ingame to let us know why she’d feel this way. It could have more meaning if there was the possibility that she WAS indeed the real Ada Wong (keep in mind that until this game, there was nothing to let us know if Ada was REALLY a hero, as she never did anything for anyone if it didn’t help her in the long run, so there was indeed the chance that she could really have been evil), or if we had more on her backstory in the actual game (instead of putting files in special). Not to mention that it basically shows how badly wasted her potential was to the story.

You know what would’ve really been interesting? Seeing the REAL Ada Wong in Carla’s position at that point. Not as a BOW, but as a sad, pathetic mess, injured, on the ground, with no one there to save her. Not saying Ada should’ve died, but to be in a situation where we see the Ada in fear, anger, and other floods of emotion as opposed to her calm and cool demeanor, as this woman whom she’s never even met gets to walk away scott free with her face. It would’ve been much more dramatic, and while they didn’t have to do this, this is just some of the potential Carla brought that was sadly never used. In her current state, Carla is basically just some Saturday morning cartoon episode villain where she pretends to be one of the main heroes until she’s found out, then everything goes back to normal. I hate to say this, but Shadow the Hedgehog had more going on with the whole clone/robot/I am all I am deal than Carla did.

As for the fight itself, it stunk of the Excella fight; Running through a ship with a massive BOW consuming the ship. Personally, I would’ve rather’d the two fight normally. [/details]

Regarding Carla being a wasted character, I couldn’t agree more. This game introduced two new antagonists to fill Wesker’s shoes and Simmons was kind of a weak character overall. Carla really had potential, much more than Excella in my opinion, but it’s of course a moot point now for both her and Simmons. They both sucked because so much of the backstory is in the files which I never even thought to check, so I found out a lot about them from message boards and wiki instead of learning it in game. I feel like the series might lean toward the family being the big antagonists in the next installments, but of course this game didn’t set them up in any way other than the files either, so they’re even less existent than Carla.

About Wesker being dead for good: yeah, that’s the logical conclusion. But I won’t be surprised when he rears his ugly head in RE7. I will roll my eyes pretty hard, but I won’t be the least bit surprised.

And the boss fights, especially at the end of Leon’s campaign, became such a chore. Took way too long and became a nuisance rather than a major gameplay point. I actually think I yelled out loud “Is this still going on?!” when fighting the boss in the room with the obelisk.

That’s how the series always done it though. Important backstory has always been told through files. Not finding them in-game and exiting the game to access a special menu to read them unlike the past games is what sucks.

Pretty much. Granted, I feel it’s important to always put important details in the main plot (because while hard to miss, it’s still possible to miss files at times), but capcom taking them out of the main game was just stupid.

All of the pre-order maps are now on sale! Only a $1 each (80points) so buy buy buy! I think I like the Catacombs the most because, well, wherever I was standing enemies had NO trouble getting to me so I had a steady stream. High Seas is big and J’avo are like all over but not near me so I feel like it’s Steel Beast and I need to start hunting them down. Not my bag of grits. Same with Rail Yard a bit but at least this is a smaller map. On that note we need some maps of all the maps with locations for all the items and statues.

When on psn?

Edit - nvm got em

Sent from the next dimension using saiyantalk…

$1 dollar huh…somehow I can already hear people bitching that it should be free and yada yada but $1 is pretty good.

A buck for a map ain’t so bad. I only have $1.50 on my wallet so I’ll only be able to purchase one. I’ll go with Catacombs

brought em all…

im capcom’s whore…

Spend a few hours on Catacombs. It’s a good map. Bigger than it needs to be but still a good map. Getting 25 kills with quickshot to summon the boss is gonna be a bitch. Most of the zombies wear armor. The BOW that spreads the virus as gas is so free in Mercs. The bitch goes down after a couple of shots. Why couldn’t it be that easy in the campaign? If Sandy didn’t fuck shit up too much I’ll try to find a $10 card to get the rest of the maps tomorrow.

Is it just me or are the alian type monsters scary as fuck.

Which one is that?

Thier kinda like the regenerators like u shoot them and they split in half and are still alive

They are annoying as fuck. Mostly because someone decided to let them keep screeching after death.
