Chris is so manly that he does what effeminate Leon can’t, and that is moving boulders by punching them with his fucking fists.
Chris is also not whipped in every game by the mysterious Asian in red who’s slowly turning into a white chick as the series goes on with the aid of video game plastic surgery.
i actually enjoyed resident evil 5. i havent played 6 yet. people were shitting on it so heavy early on, and it didnt seem like my cup of tea when i watched the replays, that i said fuck it. i dont think resident evil 5 was great, but it was kinda hype as it developed. we were on here loving it in gd, but it missed the mark a bit in some aspects.
i might actually play it today. capcom still sucks fat dick, are the complete and utter worst, and after mikami kills the game with, the evil within, resident evil can rest in peace. but im not too shocked at resident evil 5 taking that title. it was a fairly easy game for anyone to get into and enjoy. even the very picky fans who might not have loved it, but definitely probably at least enjoyed their first play through of it.
Yeah, RE5 is better than people give it credit for. I enjoyed the hell out of it too, and like Capcom’s other games from earlier in this generation, it was better than their more recent stuff. Compare DMC4 and RE5 to DmC and RE6 to see my point.
Edit: VS mode sucked ass, though. I could never get the trophies in VS mode because sensitive bitches would ragequit if they ended up losing the match, making it so the +win or +loss didn’t count.
RE6 has really good combat, but the other aspects of the game sucked. Still, it’s worth playing through, especially now since it’s probably $10 or less everywhere. I got my copy for $20 new shortly after release and had fun with it. PC version is the way to go if you can(ultimate version of MERCs mode, just like PC RE5. 10X the enemies on screen.)
RE7 released: "This game sucks! RE6 was so much better!"
RE8 released: "This game sucks! RE7 was so much better!"
RE9 released: “This game sucks! RE8 was so much better!”
Leons RE6 campaign was enough for more to prefer RE6 over RE5.
I’m sure this has been said alot of times but capcoms biggest f***up was to kill Wesker.
No villain that they will ever create could take his spot , 4 real.
RE5 was an awesome game from a gameplay standpoint. It just wasn’t scary and the storyline sucked complete balls, only things that detract from the game.
That wasn’t a fuck up. He’s a villain and villains eventually die. This is something that should be expected always.
And plus Capcom already tried the ‘villain that never dies’ thing with Sigma in Megaman X, and we saw what wonders that brought for the series’ sustainability.
Yeah exactly. If it wasn’t called Resident Evil it wouldn’t have been hated on.
It was basically RE4 with co-op and no horror atmosphere.
That said I still prefer RE4 because it was more interested, and I prefer Leon over Chris.
RE4 actually scared the living fuck out of me at some points. That game actually got really fucking creepy. The whole thing was just a great adventure.
What’d I’d really like to see is a game that has the same fun RE5 did from a gameplay standpoint, fused with the creepy atmosphere that RE4 had.
Most people were attracted by those next gen graphics and it didn’t look as dull as Gears 1 aesthetically. Online co-op was really fun and I was more or less new to such an experience in the TPS genre. Didn’t really PC game that much so online co-op was such an awesome experience. It was definitely a step down from RE4 when it comes to the single player campaign. It was also more of an action game and the whole “horror in daylight” didn’t really pan out the way Capcom wanted I think. Still mercs was awesome and tbh the game had a nice flow and made sense throughout.
RE6 was all over the place and I understand why. To me…RE6 is the MGS4 of the series, trying so hard to put everything together while going the action route. We also must remember the actual title in Japan is “Biohazard” so when things get out of control you gotta shoot everything up! In all seriousness that is just where the story went. I’m guessing RE7 will be in the flavour of Resident Evil Revelations.
I really believe RE5 attracted a truckload of customers due to the graphics alone. It was early current gen and was an interesting TPS game regardless of how the RE enthusiasts feel. Not saying their opinion isn’t valid but the numbers are interesting to say the least. RE4 now has legendary status and a ton of ports…yet RE5 is on top? I do feel bad for people who played the game without a friend but when I did play solo it wasn’t a negative experience for me.
Also I’d like to ask why people dislike code veronica? It seemed like a solid “classic” RE game.
People bashed the game not because it was bad but because it didn’t live up to their expectations. The hated it because it was not the survival horror they remember from the older games. That aside RE5 is probably in my top 5 favorite games of this generation, spent countless hours into this game and the co-op experience was second to none, hardly played it solo though, so can’t really comment on how well the AI partner behaved but they seemed to perform their tasks well enough. Unfortunateley haven’t played RE6 yet >.>
