I don’t think I’ll be going to EVO this year…I definately don’t have the money, but I don’t think I have the motivation…unless I master Kliff in the next couple weeks count me out for sure…

I really have to think about going to evo. It costs me over a thousand dollars in expenses and money lost from time off work to attend Evo. This year I would definitly be more of a spectator since I don’t realistically expect to go that far and I’m honest with myself and my practice and dedication to the games which is almost nothing. I do not play or practice GGxx outside of tournies and casual play, I occassionally mess around with cvs2 in practice mode and I play lag fighter.
This is fine with me since being a top player is not a goal of mine, I like to compete but do not wish to invest hours upon hours of practice and travel to play the best to get better. It’s not like you can be a pro tennis player hitting balls by yourself all day and then expect to react to every opponents style, I think the same is true with fighting games. Although I really enjoy the experience with you guys I have been fortunate enough to go the last two years and I just have other goals in my life right now and could use that 1,100 bucks towards school or just to save. So I guess I just made up my mind and I will not be attending this year, sorry guys.
Until we have confirmed how many are going, it’s hard to say how much we’re going to spend. The rooms last year cost more cause it was for 2 rooms. Now that it seems that we’re going to be only having 1, I think we’ll be alright with the price (I’m willing to pay for more if I do get a bed, but I highly doubt it, we’ll see though). Since right now the head count is at 5, and 2 people sleeping on the floor, it’s really tough to say how much everyone will be spending. I’ll be entering XX and the team for #reload, but that’s wha?? $10.00 for #reload? and $10.00 entry fee with $25.00 on XX??? The ticks would prolly cost $150-$190 (relatively speaking), and hotel will cost $150-$160 (split with 5 peeps give and take) at most, food will vary upon from $25-$50, maybe even $100 depending how hungry you are for the next 3 days. Over all, you spend $495-$500.
That’s the reason why sometimes you do think why you do this year in and year out. I’m doing this cause this is my final time in Evo, and probably would just save my money to go to SBO instead or like what Chris said “GO TO SCHOOL”. People say you can do this and still have enough, assuming I have a parent that I can rely on (not bashing on anyone about this, I’m just stating facts about myself here). But in reality, if you think about it I don’t. I’m not dropping the scene, I’m dropping the Majors, like I have said over and over already. This is the last one, and I’ll try to go out with a bang :D, not just to make myself satisfied, but to silence the people that doubts how I am, and how I play. I may not play much now, but come Evo, I’ll come out as the old me.
