Props to JC and Chambers for winning the tourney. I don’t know the details behind it since no one has told me what happened yet. As for me not attending, my brother was here with his baby, and I just couldn’t leave cause it seemed kinda rude, with him showing us his baby and all.

ok first off…i dont know if you thought my last post was to bust on you in some way, but it WASNT.
I was merely stating how i felt about the current situation in RENO and you just went off on me.
There was no need to take shots at my intelligence. i wasnt ragging on you in anyway.
about the sticks…i shouldnt really say the sticks suck. its more like there hella worked in. and ive been getting used to them as well. im able to pull off alot of my CCs a whole lot better then before (still not as good as my home mas, but better then before). yu can ask ROB or chris, they saw me pull off sakura and bisons CCs on the machine the other day.
so yes there a lil weirder to work with, but im able to manage more now.
and judging from the turnout for the last tourney (cvs2 = 10, ggxx = 6) i wouldnt really say that there is no more interest cvs2.
i really didnt even want to play ggxx, so that could have made it 5 for ggxx (cause i suck hardcore compared to the rest of reno crew).

I don’t like 2 out of 3 because it is VERY long and I have to work the next day and getting out of the Atlantis at 1:15 in the morning is not very good for my rest, the way the game is played is turtle for the most part and it just drags on and on.
2/3 is bullshit; way too long. and the only reason why we didn’t get more for GGXX is because nick yacono, jp and ivan/random people didn’t show up.

… You are really, cause people barely know who you are. At anyrate, thanks for answering my post Eric (took you long enough), but at this point who cares, glad that there’s “Enthusiasm” towards having tourneys, but does this actually keep the scene going for everyone or just becomes a drag everytime we hear that “THERE’S A TOURNEY THIS WEEKEND!!”". I’m just saying, good job on announcing 5 days in advance and making sure everything is working and stuff, but you can’t expect people to have that much enthusiasm towards it, cause they never do. People will always find a way to have excuses with or without having tourneys. But that’s just me.
I’m surprised “JUICE” didn’t show up cause I thought he kicks my ass “FOR FREE” with his Sol :rolleyes: . That new Baiken Video is sick, and watching Daigo play Sol made my eyes water. How is he better than Masa/Taka I have no clue, but for sure, Daigo is not random. He just likes to gamble alot (on that note, I wonder if he’d be interested in going to Reno??

As for 2 out fo 3’s on CvS2. I think Chris said it best…
which in turn is true, if you think about it. Turtle K vs Turtle A turns into a “DON’T WASTE MY TAPE” feeling and becomes boring. But of course, that’s how the game is. Slow, long, boring, and relying on either “roll start” or sit there do nothing. So the answer your question is, no on 2 out of 3 for CvS2, unless people are willing to sit they’re ass and watch the finals (that’s 4 out of 7 and if the loser wins it turns into a 8 out of 14), or not watch at all (again, people are pissed off cause it’s taking too long).
Low turn out for XX, hmm, lets see, Nick Y., JUICE, me, Tantin, Stinko man, that’s 5 right there, weird. But I guess if you count STINK and JUICE, you’ll have 2 more extra players. If you count Tantin that’s 13 for CvS2 and only 10 for XX. Damn I guess CvS2 is popular huh?

anyways…
i dont know if having tournies every weekend will make everyone more enthusiastic about playing or not. but it makes me like to play more. the more people i play the better i get and more fun i have. Like i’ve said before, im from PSL FL and i was the only one who liked cvs2…therefore…i played the computer constantly. That was the only practice i had. So having tournies and playing real people to me is fun and it keeps me playing.
I realize not everyone else is like me, but i figured it couldnt hurt to run tournies to see if everyone else got more interested in the games.
yeah…i understand what you mean about cvs2 being long and slow.
i personally like 2 outa 3 better, but i wanna get you guys opinions so i can get a better turnout next time. in the end, i really could care less whether we do 2 outa 3 or just 1 match, i just want people to show up.

CvS2 should be played 1 match, double elimination…I enjoyed the team tourny we did, also…maybe we’ll do that again sometime since that was lots of fun for everyone…
As for my particapation in CvS2 tournies, I only do it because if I don’t I’ll get bitched at about uneven brackets…plus I never pay entry fees…
