Hey reno crew!

Went to reno during evo weekend. I haven’t been to reno in a long time.

Circus Circus used to have tons of people in the mid 90s and street fighters EVERYWHERE. Now there’s almost none. /=

Making one now, Scoots. Shut the fuck up.

To be serious here, I really had an amazing time at Evo 2k5. Everything from the food to the people to the tournament was all top notch. Everyone upped there game a notch, and finals were an absolute blast. Some highlights include:

-Scott & I seeing Michael Jacksons dad at Fatburger (WTF?)
-That crazy ass grunt Campbell did when playing Cliff.
-Duc Do + Finals
-Winning a free Xbox game from the Frag Dolls (which DOESN’T WORK. DOUBLE U TEE EFF)
-JC busting out some crazy infinite tree loop shit in #R. Take a break, friend.
-Cameron & I going on a crazy long walk in the wee hours of the morning the morning of the 12th.
-Me placing top 30!
-BAS winning CvS2.
-WHAT IS A LARYNX?! I’m blogging this shit.
-Combofiend owning like… everyone. Everyone that came within five feet of that fool.
-The emo dogs on the way home. CRAWLLLLINNGGG INNNNN MY SKINNNNN.
-Joe totally peacing out my Kirby Canvas Curse time trials score. =[
-Kindebu going mad crazy whenever food or money was involved in a conversation. GO EASY ON MEEEE!
-DO YOU GUYZ BUILD ROBOTZ!?!?!??
-Who here plays video games?

Sup Reno Crew.

Well, as the last crouching short kick of Shinya Ohnuki connected versus Justin Wong’s SA II super ending what was probably one of the coolest Street Fighter 3rd Strike matches I have seen outside Japan, Justin “The Marvelous” Wong finally losing his streak of consecutive MvC2 titles, Duc “the Godfather” Do taking the MvC2 crown back to where it once was, Bas winning (after 4 years) his well deserve CvS2 crown, so does my place here. I feel that it’s time for me to step away now before it’s too late.

I think, it’s time to say I am done. I got a ton of reasons, and I don’t think I need to state them here. If you need to talk to me, talk to me personally. Then I’ll tell you why. It was fun. The last 5 years was great. Here are those 5 years summed up for everyone:

2001: B5, CvS1: Ricky vs the Canadian Turtle in CvS1, the Canadian Turtle vs Jason Nelson, Jason Nelson vs Chikyuu Sodom, the one that (to this day) is still the best over Finals match ever. Nothing will beat this in my opinion.

MvC2: The Finals between Justin Wong and Duc Do, the beginning of Justin Wongs' reign on the world of MvC2.

The best memorable moment of this year: The Japanese went to our room, and played againts us, from White, Liquid Metal, Bas, and 2 other Japanese players. While having the Vegas Crew (first time meeting ruiN- and Russell), that lurpy dude from Norcal (forgot his name, it's like scruffy or something, cool dude and also weird) and making the JPNs MvC2 players go crazy about his dice deal on which team he will play on whatever combination he gets with his dice, and Angel getting combo'd by White with Guile, Dhalsim, Bison then back to Guile, and at the end an old white dude telling everyone to shut the fuck up.

2002: Evolution (the beginning). 2nd year the Japanese attended, Bringing Shinya Ohnuki, Tokido, Ino, Bas, Chikyuu, Liquid Metal, Mester among the rest.

CvS2: Ino's K-groove hop into Blanka Punch ball Super was a sight to see. Ohnuki's N-Groove crazyness. Tokido's win. Roll-cancel was the shit. Bas losing to Ken.

MvC2: The appearance of the Northwest best Rodolfo. He had his chance to take down Justin.

ST: Jason Cole vs Jason DeHeras (sp?), this Dhally (new) vs Dhally (old) was a bomb ass match. Jason Cole vs Shinya Ohnuki, Jason Cole retaining his title as back to back ST champion by playing Counter match vs Ohnuki. The last 3 games went: Cole picks Old Sagat and beats Ohnuki's Chun Li, Ohnuki goes to Old Sagat, beats Cole's Sagat, then Cole going to Dhally for the win.

Memorable time during the 2nd year: Bas went shopping with us, him being surprised with how big the Sodas are, the cheese's and everything and him going "MURI!" the entire time was classic. Getting to play againts his A-groove was fun as hell. I got hit by his ground Rolento A-combo and dizzying me at the end of it. Brian saying "we should teach Furby how to talk" comment, Arturo saying he "wants to have Ken's babies" was funny......

2003: Evolution 2 (Cal Poly Pomona): Guilty Gear XX was introduced, the beast Daigo Umehara made his appearance, with Shinya Ohnuki, VF top players (the akira player, and the Lion player), KO makes his first appearance, so did KSK.

Street Fighter 3rd Strike: KO vs Daigo in the final match. Crazyness! Ken vs Yun, and seeing Yun in top level shape was even better live than on video. The Ricky vs Daigo Controversy. JUDGEMENT!!! Crazyness, and Robin getting pissed off at me for saying it didn't count.

Guilty Gear XX: The addition of this game to Evo was both cool and great. New players are finally up and comming, too bad the bullshit in the game was even crazier. Daigo's Sol, Miu's Sol and ID's Sol were top 3, only Mago's Johnny broke the top 4 plane. ruiN's eddie was up and comming, and this was the learning year for everyone from Reno. Chris C. making it to the final 32 players with his Pochyo and almost beat FSs' Ky :D.

Super Turbo: Jason Cole falling asleep before the qualifers. Daigo vs Ohnuki in the finals, Daigo's Ryu is too strong.

CvS2: Ino vs Daigo. K-groove Madness vs C-groove crazyness. Mago taking third with his Turtle ass Honda. Roll-canceling at it's best.

Memorable moment: the VF tournament with the announcer. Haha, he's probably the highlight of that night. Reminding me of A-cho, and SBO. he's cool, too bad he hasn't done that since.

2004: Evo 3 (Cal Poly Pomona):Introduction of R.F, Kindebu, Raoh, Dan, Scott took a pic of Daigo while he was sleeping in one of the couches, Evo didn’t want #reload cause it was an Import. No food. No japanese in our room, no Bas, but EC and Vegas went to our Room. Hella cool.

CvS2: Daigo got elminated by Eddie Lee and Ratio 1 beatdown. Buktooth destroying R.F, Dan losing to Ricky, Ricky beating Choi, but loses a close one vs Kindebu.

Super Turbo: Daigo's Madness reigns over everyone (Balrog crazyness anyone??), Kuni taking 3rd was hella cool. Well deserve for that man.

Guilty Gear XX: 2nd year in a row that this game was held. Daigo retains his title vs Kindebu. Kindebu's Eddie created a craze with this character.

Street Fighter 3rd Strike: Haha, the one tournament everyone should remember. Justin Wong out turtling Raoh, with Raoh pulling a taunt in the end O O. Very surprising. Raoh was pissed, but what can you do. Justin beat him, and that's all that mattered. What happened after is probably crazier than that. KO vs Daigo was crazy match. Nothing very bad about 2 great players playing the game, showing the otherside of the game.

Most memorable moment: Daigo the beast reared it's ugly head for 1 crazy moment. Parry....'nough said.

2005: Did you go to Evo?? If you didn’t, wait for the DvD.

I would like to say I was glad to have met everyone I met. Everyone is hella nice, and cool. But I have to finally say goodbye to this scene. I’m done. And that’s final. Period it. Anyone from Reno, hit me up if you guys want some KoF casuals or even CvS2 hehe, maybe even Guilty Gear. I’ll still be here, but after my house is gone, I dunno.

JP

P.S. Imagine: an intense moment. Two players playing…1 Testament player, awesome and getting his combos. His game is solid even after already losing againts a Robot-ky. Then a Johnny. Solid from what everyone says, combos are there, and so are his set-ups. Then suddenly, a man that’s wearing glasses, the mad man, who’s a judge suddenly says to the other group of people “Hey Render… you’re playing that man”. As the Johnny player hears this, Pauses the game and yells “HEY I’M RENDER!”. …GGPO.

Idiot bitch, you’s an idiot bitch.

Peace out.

Good job at EVO, you fucking nerd pussies. Even though nobody won Evolution like I asked, I will reward your efforts with this Tiger Electronics Handheld Game!

Go nuts!

How interested would people be in having the following tournaments every saturday (night) or sunday (midday):

#Reload (slash when it comes out for ps2)
CvS2
3S
Tekken 5

I NEED TO KNOW NEKOZ

This is open to out of towners too! We’d probably record all videos and put’em on a phatty site and it’d be dope. :O!~

Reno/Neko crew[z] has my word that I will enter every tournament there is. Hence, that means I also have to learn Tekken 5 and #Reload, but that’s half the fun!

Also, since Reno crew is so small, should the pot just go to 1st/2nd place? I also suggest adding cool things to the mix, like prizes or some shit to get the hype train chuggin. Who doesn’t love free plushies or cool things?

Edit: I will enter every tournament I can. Meaning, when I’m in the state of Nevada and living in the state of Nevada, you can count on me being there. :karate: Play to win, bitchez~~~

I’d swap CvS2 with ST, cause CvS2 is dull, and takes nine days to run, but other than that, Tizzle will be glad to donate to all winners.

ST’s really old and nobody under 21 is allowed to play it anyway. :frowning:

It’s still good. Besides, ST tournaments are stupidly fast. They’d last like… A fifth as long as CvS2 or 3S.

And where are the tournaments gonna be held? Robs?
