Hey I own the TE edition, and I’m afraid my screws (default screws that came with) have been so worn in to the point where I can’t remove one of them. To make matters worse, after my many attempts to remove it, I’ve make the hole wider, and there is no screwdriver that I’ve found around my house that can grab a grip on it. I’ve searched the forum and I’ve tried some of the solutions including:
1.) Taking a hammer and mashing a flathead to make an indentation (did this, but kind got scared that I would damage the joystick if I hit too hard :arazz) So I guess I can go back to this attempt if all else fails. I'm also afraid that I'll destroy the head of the screw, and really be screwed (no pun intended):looney:
2.) Went to Home Depot, and I got a screw extractor (pretty sure it was the right size) and but to avail.
3.) taking a larger screw driver and grinding it in to make a new indentation that I can grip (didnt work ~~)
Please give me some suggestions! I'll try pliers later twist it from the sides...

P.S - On a side note, Anyone know where I can find replacement screws ? Ones that would fit or extra ones of the same kind that came with it? Thanks in advance. ~~
Using a larger sized screw driver (Phillips-head) for the screws you are pulling out should work just fine. You really need to push hard into the screw when you are removing it.
If you don’t know the screw sizes, just take them to Home Depot with you, and ask an employee to assist you in purchasing the screws that you brought with you. They should be able to recognize the screws and help you match them up.
By the way this should have gone into one of the sticky topics up above. Don’t create threads for stuff like this in the future.
If that doesn’t work, get a drill bit the same size as the shaft and drill straight down. The head should pop off when you get far enough and you can pull the rest out with pliers.
You shoulda hopped onto IRC support. Someone would’ve helped you there.
Roger that ~ Thank you for all your input. Unfornately I took them to home depot and they couldn’t find the screws I needed, can anyone provide a link to a place I can order these exact screws online? Thanks very much ~ next time ill bring it into IRC
Yeah, dont have one of those I do want to get screws that are the same size, but are flat-head screws instead, lil help if you know where to find some!
If it’s a somewhat bigger screw, you can try the ghetto burnt pen method.

It’s kinda risky (you ARE playing with fire, after all) and I don’t know what the TE screws look like but this is an inexpensive trick you can try out.
