Remora Official Thread - RGB LED control for MadCatz FightSticks

Only for about an hour longer. Domestic orders are done, Im going through the international back log right now.

Toodles, I got my Remora in the mail today, installed it in my TE-S, and everything works and looks great!

Only problem Iā€™m having is the lock switch isnā€™t working at all - I put it into either position and I can still use the select, start, home buttons, and the Remora LEDs are still lighting up. Nothing is being disabled. I have a TE-Kitty installed and prior to installing Remora the lock switch worked just fine. I didnā€™t remove the panel the lock switch is on, so I canā€™t have messed anything up there. I triple-checked the cables and everything looks to be fastened tightly and installed properly. Can you think of anything I might be missing?

EDIT: Also works fantastic on PS2! Lights arenā€™t dimmer at all.

There is labeled <TES_EN on the Remora.
You are to cut Trace between the two pads.

Bingo! Thanks, jdm714. Much obliged.

Anyone by chance have pictures of one installed using Arceye2ā€™s? Iā€™m curious how difficult it is to make the board work with those before I try to attempt it.

I just got and assembled the LEDs onto my Pro Stick. My question is, is there a screen saver where I can have just one color of lights fading out and fading back in? Iā€™m not a huge fan of my stick fading into red then into blue then into green etc.

Points G and C and V on Remora.
On bottom, cut Trace between G and C.
Then short C and V points in the Remora.

ArcEye II can be used now.
Now can use ArcEye II.

Sorry for the blurry video; camera sucks in low-light.

I literally have that thing in my hand and Iā€™m still confused on how it works lol.

EDIT: I are too stupid :stuck_out_tongue:

Quick Buttons: During normal operation, you can use Start+Select to quickly set the display and screensaver
modes. When Start+Select is released, the play buttons held will set the display or screen saver based on the
chart below. Changing this way does NOT save them to the Remora; you will have to enter and exit the Setup
Menu to make the changes permanent.
Display Name Quick Buttons Display Name Quick Buttons ScreenSaver Name Quick Buttons ScreenSaver Name Quick Buttons
CycleOnPress 1 Fav_LightsOut 4 Breathe 1+6 Fav_Spiral 4+6
CycleRipple 2 Simon 1+4 Fav_Breathe 2+6 Bounce 1+4+6
CycleRippleInOut 1+2 Equalizer 2+4 KITT 1+2+6 Fav_Bounce 2+4+6

Fav_Fade 1+2+3 ScreenSaver 2+3+4 Spiral 1+2+3+6
The display ā€˜ScreenSaverā€™ shows the currently selected screen saver and doesnā€™t care what buttons you press.
The screensaver mode called AllScreenSavers will cycle through all of the screensavers, spending about 30
seconds on each before moving to the next. When selecting this via the Setup Menu, ā€˜AllScreenSaversā€™ shows
up all white buttons to prevent confusion with other screensavers.
All of the display and screensaver names beginning with ā€˜Fav_ā€™ take advantage of the saved Favorite Colors, so
you have a lot of personalization options to make your stick truly yours.

Not sure if itā€™s me but I also get the issue where my fightstick randomly disconnects and my 360 tells me to reconnect controller

Replace your USB cable.

My LEDs are still receiving power and working.

Received my Remora in the mail today. However the link to the install instructions isnā€™t working. Everything seems pretty self explanatory except where I plug the CN1 CN2 into with a VS stick. Also VCC and GND with a TE kitty w/ VS harness. Any help would be sweet. Thanks.

CN1 and CN2 go into the TES_CN1 and TES_CN2 ports, respectively. For VCC, all you need to do is run a single wire from the VCC screw terminal on the XBOX side over to the VCC on the Remora; no need to run a GND since ground goes through CN1 already.

Thank you very much for the reply. Toodles told me at EVO that the Kitty has a spot to screw down the VCC wire, but mine doesnā€™t have that. It doesnā€™t have have screw downs. They are like little buttons you push, slip the wire in, and release the button for it to crimp. So do I solder something to the Kitty or to the original Mad Catz PCB?

I somewhat fixed it. I just opened my Pro stick up and rearranged some wires and took off the glue Kuya_Joe left on the USB holes that were already soldered on; nonetheless, it works! Also thanks for the help Joe!

Only need to know exactly where to put the VCC from the Remora and Iā€™m all done  Any help would be sweet!
UPDATE: I just pushed the VCC wire in with the red wire on the on the output side.

Ready for action boss!
