Remora Official Thread - RGB LED control for MadCatz FightSticks

Im sorry for the delay, Im just trying to cram every last thing that I can into the board. Please understand, Im quiet because Im shoving as much code into the board as I possibly can. I’ve got about three hours left before the code is finialized and all of the Remoras get flashed and sent out the door.

So how is the remora program mode accessed, is it like the widget where you hold jab or some other method? Also is there a pdf coming to your website soon cause I know most of the instructions you make are for install. This one is practically no brain needed just $$$

ETA on PS3 fix?

Not yet, I havent even drawn up the ribbons Im picturing, and there’s both TE and TES versions to think about. 2 months conservative estimate.

Simple question(s): I’m planning to install a rocker switch in my TE on the 5v line from the TE Kitty to the VCC on the Remora. This way I can turn off the LEDs if I want or need to.

Is there anything I should be concerned about or pay attention to when doing this? For instance, I’m assuming the VCC line only supplies power to the LEDs and the Remora would work the same way as the stock TE button signal distribution board without it - is this correct? Anything else I’m missing?

If your stick is a TE-S (or you decide to mimic a TE-S style KGND line and switch), move slider to ‘Locked’ and the board safely there doing nothing. Whether TES or TE based, you can always hold the first three kicks on plugin to do the same thing so tournament mode is active until you plug in the same way again.

So the Remora uses the “kill ground” as a ground for the LEDs, right? That’s fantastic. Man, you did a great job planning this through! Thanks, Toodles.

Not actually done that way, but the affect is the same as you’re picturing.

for the PS3 models maybe you can set up another wiring harness for it to be an easier install… I know JDM had re-wired the harness to have it function correctly on the evo stick he just did…

I have a question, when you go into setup mode and adjust the colors for 1,3&5 do they still display as the standard red green blue (so it’s impossible to see the color until the setup is exited for those buttons) ALSO ALSO ALSO THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING SETUP START INSTEAD OF X(aka jab aka light) NO MORE SETUP WHILE PLAYING ZERO and VERGIL!!!

You get control all the RGB values individually.

Buttons 1,3,and 5 are RGB, but all of the other buttons (2,4,6,7, and 8) are displaying the color. So you hold select, press 1 to change 1’s color. The current color for 1 is show on all of those other buttons, and changes as you tweak the RGB levels up and down. When you hit select, that color is saved as the favorite for button 1.

Simon uses four colors. Everything else has a 21 bit color space, so 2^21 colors possible for any button. 2^21 roughly equals 3 hojillion.

Thanks Toodles for adjusting my order I read the Remora pdf about Tournament mode only for the TE-S PCB and I couldn’t wait till the next time I ordered

One more question… I have a TE-S with a Kitty installed. I also have a Neutrik connector in place of the select button, and I use the turbo button as a select/back button à la TE Kitty. Would any function for the Remora that requires the select button work if I use the turbo button as the select button?

All of the Remora functions that require Select will work fine using the Turbo button on a Kitty install.

Nope I read it wrong, I thought when it says the rest will show the current color, in regards to the color set up mode I thought it meant their individual favorite colors. Not the same color in which you are altering my bad. *Man you think of everything.
