I’m guessing Hori as well?
So wired third party ps3 controllers aren’t banned right?
No. If a controller has the potential to interrupt a match in progress it is banned.
Likewise if a controller has programmed macros for something like a 1-button SRK.
So wired third party controllers are allowed? Just double checking.
I could be crazy, but I could swear I saw Wolfkrone and DR Ray using Dualshock 3 controllers in the top 32. Was there a last minute rule change?
No, they are using ps2 controllers with convertors. They carry a mess of wires and pad on stage with them.
Are you able to use an xbox 360 wired controller with a converter to ps3?
ok so if I get my PS2 pad that works into a PS3 converter then that is ok? or a fighting gamepad BUT it must have a wire, right?
Yes.
Yes.
The rule exists to prevent matches being interrupted and having to fiddle with controller setup every match. Since neither of those solutions will allow the controller to stay synced/connected after the match they won’t be a problem.
Great so I can use my Virtual Boy goggles and a Panasonic 3D0 controller for the Video games Tournament…JK
Am I able to use the Hori Fighting Commander Pro 3 pad? Just wanted to make sure or else I’ll have to buy a DS2…
if its wired, then yes
May I ask about the Tekken 6 wireless stick that came with the Limited Edition version of the game. Not sure about syncing, but it does require the use of the USB Dongle that it came with in order to operate on the PS3. I have included a pic found on the net that diplays both the stick and the USB Dongle:
I’ve heard that PS4 controllers do not interfere with PS3 but they are wireless. Will they be allowed?
Chances are they could be allow, but you need to attach the charging cable to them.
@MrWizard Is the Xcm Cross Battle Rapid Fire converter allowed (with the rapid fire off, of course)?
