There’s many ways you can run that team. The way i run it is tasky/spencer/vergil, i kinda use tasky as a battery on point. As i mentioned on my previous post rapid slash helps tasky get in an put in some work. Then spencer second again like taskmaster he benefits from rapidslash assist, it also extends spencers combos you can nab close to 850k with one bar. You can always go with the ToD by spending another bar after bio maneuvers. Then i have vergil as anchor what can i say that hasn’t already been said about anchor vergil espicially with lvl 3 x-factor and meter.
You can also go with tasky/vergil/spencer i’ve only tried this combonation a couple of times just because my anchor spencer is kinda ass i’ve learned to rely on playing spencer with an assist :/… Now here having vergil in the second spot is a really good thing because him and tasky have good dhc synergy. Taskmaster can build enough meter of his combo for you to dhc in to swords.
Sorry man i don’t im not all that great so i dont record much of my matches but if you want and you have xbl you can add me and we can get some games in!
Need some advice on my team, currently running Nemesis(rocket) / Vergil (rapid slash) / Doom (beam)
My issues are:
I don’t like Doom as anchor, even with xfac he’s got a hard time opening up people.
If Nemesis dies Vergil entering the screen is pretty nasty, opens him up to incoming mixups and he has no answer.
Vergil -> Doom DHC sucks, but I guess it’s not necessary since Vergil can do plenty o’ dmg himself.
I’m thinking of switching to Akuma on anchor with his fireball assist
Also thinking of changing entirely to Vergil (rapid slash)/Doom (missiles)/Akuma (tatsu)
Open to any ideas Thanks
If it works okay… but I’d definitely try out his Tatsu Assist instead. It has priority out the wahoo and eats projectiles alive. It won’t serve as well as a Doom beam in regards of Full Screen influence but Akuma will eat any projectile to let Vergil in. Plus it lasts a bit longer so you can do better mixups.
Vergil/Doom/Akuma is solid. They’re all good characters and each serve a role. Doom is a pretty good at building meter with that obnoxious air Medium and Akuma looovvveesss meter.
Ya, I know, fireball assist sounds weird but… (just for the nemesis/vergil/akuma team)
tatsu is rough to confirm off of
fireball actually ends up working very well with vergil, slow moving and a super easy hit confirm, got wrecked by someone online with vergil/akuma’s fb
I’m def leaning towards the vergil/doom/akuma setup though And with tatsu and missiles I figured vergil shouldn’t have a hard time staying alive
The only problem I have with Akuma is definitely the conversion with Doom. Tatsu was great, but I went and swapped him for Ammy since Cold Star just makes everything even more broken with Doom, and especially Vergil(free combo’s off of any helm breaker, combo extension, combo’s from ground throws, lockdown, etc). Getting 1.1mil using just an Ammy assist feels so good as well.
And while I love Doom as well(his great damage and all), his plasma beam assist is a double-edged sword for me.
-Hella good, but scales the follow-up’s hard.
Although, I can live with the scaling on the beam assist since it’ll help me work my mix-up game more(probably re-learn Magnus in the spare time so I can swap him, and Doom out at times). Might give hidden missiles a try though.
Anybody knows why Flocker uses Zero’s projectile assist instead of Ryujin? His projectile assist is really good when powered up but Ryujin allows Vergil to get a full combo off a helm breaker. I just figured he’d rather have that instead of a projectile since Hawkeye’s assist is still better than Zero’s powered up assist
I made a team recently of Vergil (Rapid Slash)/ Taskmaster (H. Arrows)/ SuperSkrull (Tenderizer/OG). I was wondering if anyone could let me know if i could optimize my assist I really like the tenderizer on Skrull but outside of incoming charater mix ups i dont use it much… Thinking about switching to Orbital Grudge for the free GTO assist any suggestions?
Take Strange off of anchor, that’s his worst position and he wont serve you well. I’d go with Dorm/Strange/Vergil.
Vergil is easily among the top 5 anchors in the game. Dorm has the worst assist on the team so putting him on point makes sense, plus he has teleports as well so Strange’s Bolts assist wont go to waste. 2nd place is Strange’s best position as well. Vergil’s assist causes the opponent to be pushed back, which can really help Strange become safe during blockstrings.
The only negative thing I can really think of about those 3 characters together in general is that they are all very meter reliant. Though, if you learn some of Strange’s loops he can easily build ridiculous amounts of meter per combo. Seems like a pretty decent team, be prepared to have a tough time learning Strange; he is not an easy character to pick up.
I’d put it like this: Vergil/Doom/Magneto.
Magneto is far superior to Doom as an anchor, in fact he is actually one of the best anchors in the entire game. Doom is way more reliant on an assist to get in, thus putting him on second is the logical choice.
All in all, a really solid team. Vergil is great on point and can use Magneto’s assist which doesn’t affect damage scaling all that much compared to other beam assists to get in and set-up some tricky mix-ups. Missiles is an amazing assist as well and can obviously be used to extend combos for Vergil. And if all goes wrong, Magneto with XF Lvl 3 can kill entire teams.
I wonder as well at times. Granted the buffed version can work for Vergil, Hawkeye does do basically the same thing with the use of a bar(although some characters can crouch hawkeye’s assist). Not to mention I wouldn’t want to put Zero out in the open like that when he uses hadangeki. If he swapped to Ryuenjin he’d at least get the combo extension as well as a damn good crossover counter.
In that same argument though Zero’s projectile helps with putting extra things on the screen. More specifically bolstering Hawkeye’s zoning. Could technically work as a pseudo lock-down assist with round trip.
Im trying to figure out which team i should main out of these two
Vergil, wesker, mag or mag, doom, vergil. Im semi fray at this game since i main ssf4. Just wanted some thoughts on order, assits and which team is better as a whole.
Thanks man, only reason I had Magneto at the 2nd spot is cause I use Doom’s missiles to extend his combos also but I may just try him at anchor and see how that goes…if I get my combos down with him then yea the missile extension may not even be necessary in xflv3
The team has had somewhat decent success with what I have played, and I’ve enjoyed using it. The reason I feel the need to ask about this is that I’m really unsure about this team’s synergy. In terms of assists, I know that Rapid Slash can allow Zero to get a relaunch if it is called out at the right time, and while I haven’t worked out how myself yet, I have been told that Cold Star can extend Vergil’s combos at certain points. I’m also unsure if having two characters that are somewhat reliant on their super meter is a good idea, as Vergil could end up burning through all of it, possibly leaving Amaterasu with nothing to work with. Zero is very good at building super meter though, and I haven’t had this happen to me yet, so I might just be worrying about something that may never happen. Lastly, I’m not sure if I should put Vergil into the anchor spot or not. I know that Vergil with X-Factor is ridiculously good, however Amaterasu’s damage output without X-Factor isn’t too good, and I’m not sure if Rapid Slash can extend Amaterasu’s combos in any way.
I apologise for the wall of text, but any feedback I could get about this team would be appreciated.
Any thoughts on how a Vergil (Rapid Slash) / Dante (Crystal) / Dormammu (Dark Hole) would work? I was considering using Dr Doom (Plasma Beam), but he’s not exactly the ideal anchor. My other options are Strider (Vajra) or Team Trenchcoat.
Trench coat is scary if you don’t have issues getting in without strong assists. Vergil benefits from beams alot so doom is an ideal assist but if you want a good anchor go with strider because Dante and strider are great together, anchor strider is extremely good especially with uroboros but the only
downside is Vergil can’t do much with strider except high time and super and strider is a glass cannon
Timing is key for combo extensions with Zero and Vergil but it shouldn’t take more than a day to get used to it. Vergil can actually get a relaunch by using high time with cold star. Cold star juggles the opponent and Vergil can trick down and relaunch. Meter management is all up to your play style so I can’t really help to much with that but Vergil has an easier time killing off teams rather than Amy and level two xfactor with an Amy assist means death so it depends on your situation and preference
Any ideas for a team using Vergil and Nova??Nova’s one of my fav characters in the game but he just doesn’t seem to fit well with what I need for Vergil(hence my Vergil,Magneto,Doom main)…2nd team is Dante,Nova,Spencer so I’m guessin that’ll have to remain, which is fine but if anybody has any ideas tho I’m all ears(or eyes I guess.LoL)
