To his defense, he clearly wrote this version is for “fun”, not a rebalance or whatever…
Though, this statement doesn’t stop him to use his brain and think more about 90% of those changes…

I’m curious about the idea behind the super motion being d,f,d,f… i’d bet a poney it makes the game unplayable…

Some thoughts:

Alex changes: It’s pretty weird playing Alex with good footsies and an actual good super for a change. Being able to combo off of cr.MP is extremely helpful. Though you can only cancel into LP Flash, EX Flash, or EX Shoulder. I assume super but I haven’t messed around that much. Contrary to the change log, you cannot combo off of Dive. Unless it’s a 1 frame link I’ve not been able to super cancel into SA2 or 3. I dislike the new input for the Dive but since it’s the Dive and one of his shittiest tools it doesn’t make a huge difference in how he’s played. SA3 is now his best super. Reaches from half screen, does good damage, and awesome if you get that juggle opportunity. EX Powerbomb has almost the same exact range as his other Powerbombs, so no real buff there. BUT him having invincibility and it leading to a hard knockdown is more than enough benefit. Also, cannot super cancel off of LP Flash chop into any super and you cannot combo into LP Powerbomb from LP Flash. Dunno why the change log thinks otherwise…

Elena: I like the Spin Scythe change. It gives her better offense and it’s an easy link off of cr.MP. Haven’t messed around with EX Mallet Smash. Falcon Lift is for some reason a little difficult to get out, but the range is kara range so yeah, might be looking at the new top tier. Plus she can combo off of that into EX Rhino horn and anything else, but like Mak’s TOD depending on where you are on the screen you have to accommodate for the direction you face and your input can get fucked up.

Remy: Really good sweep, best sweep range in the entire game. We’re talking half screen distance. HK Cold Blue Kick is a free combo into SA2 or Flash Kick in the corner… SA3 doesn’t do a lot of damage, nowhere near Alex or Hugo’s grab supers. Dunno how effective his jMK being a crossup will be to his game.

Sean: It’s 2I Sean with a Focus attack and Denjin… Can’t seem to combo off of the Focus -could be super cancellable- but why the fuck does he have a focus? Denjin, yeah I dunno.

Sadly, the rom doesnt seem to work for me. Maybe one day someone will upload a bundle that would work for me ( game+emu)

How the fuck do you get this to work? The instructions are pretty shitty.

Edit: I tried the Mediafire file and that one seems to work. This is hilarious.

Edit 2: Do not run it with Sfiii.zip as that seems to overwrite the sfiiian.zip

I got it to work by removing sfiii3.zip and just leaving sfiii3n.zip in ggpo.

SA3 Remy is the new top tier.

Do the opposite of that and it should work on GGPO.

Q SA3 runs 70sec now. Significantly, indeed.

Yeah, I’m having trouble getting this damn thing to work too. GGPO’s never been fond of me.

0 frame startup, crap range but Remy teleport during the very first frame of superfreeze by the same amount of pixel as his far HK kara, pretty short bar.
So basically, you can play a poke/super braindead mindgame, specially if you do kara HK xx SA3. You can also punish a load of blocked stuff with this kara.
Q close MK for example, and no need to kara or reversal…

Okay, so it looks like Alex’s SA3 AA’s. Also I think it’s safe on block. Very difficult to use it during an air juggle but it AA’s pretty well and it’s a good GTFO move to get out of the corner. What sucks about EX Powerbomb is that it still pushes Alex to fullscreen distance, the only way to close the gap is to do a HK Shoulder and by the time you get there it’s still difficult to maintain pressure. But because of it’s invincibility you can mash it like in SF4 and his jump in game is automatically improved the moment he has meter.

I’m going to try to fuck around with Twelve. So many changes have been made to Twelve and Sean they’re practically new characters. So far Twelve seems pretty legit, no idea why he needed a kara throw but SA2 is the defacto super. SA3 I have no idea what’s going to happen there.

It’s a pretty fun mod to play so far, but I’m definitely getting a headache from the part where RVN changed the automated nature of Ibuki’s standing roundhouse. It’s a bit strange to get used to, especially since you can’t do a far cr.hk into s.hk TC anymore without leaving yourself way open. The triple kunai all fired at different arcs Tsuji Goe is pretty neat, wall jump kunai stuff is wacky strange but fun enough (being able to kunai and then wall jump is nuts =O), new taunt is way easier to use (though I miss the old taunt), and apparently I’m terrible at cancelling into Hashin Shou without accidently putting out neckbreakers (suicide) about 50% of the time.

So far my only geniune complaint is that modified roundhouse thing.

Overall I’d say it’s pretty fun for sure. It’s not a replacement for 3S, but then I don’t think anyone is expecting it to be. I’m pretty sure I can get some of my friends to play 3S on GGPO with me now at least. Especially since my tolerance for AE this month has already been exhausted.

EDIT: Also, Elena using Gill stage is god damn weird as hell to see. Haha. I know people don’t like the glaring red of the stage, but man is that wack.

That was oddly missing from SF4 series when she was first brought back. It took a few updates to get back such a well-known BnB by the actual Capcom x DIMPS developers.
