Registration is now closed, see you in Vegas, pools should be out Tuesday

Hi, can someone PLEASE help

I’ve signed up online (from the UK) for three players - myself (Harmonaz), Zak and Pedram.

We’ll be getting to Vegas late Thursday. Obviously we will try the best we can to find out about our pools and such, but in case we can’t - is it ok to turn up on the Friday?

I can check this space for the next few hours until I have to get on my flight, so any quick help would be appreciated.

If anyone could pm me a contact number that I could ring in case me and my friends get lost trying to find the registration table or whatever - that would be great.

Thanks in advance

harmonaz: brackets will probably be up, online, ttomorrow

today is tuesday you liars!

See you guys there!!!

oh yeah lol. maybe it is today

Are those the official numbers? entrants seem down from previous years? If it wasn’t for the exclusive games being at Evo, the numbers would probably be even lower.

Go ST.

Holy shit ST. Awesome.

people are too lazy to register online. thats probably why numbers are down.

Those arent the official numbers. They are close though. Three factors in lower attendance are pretty obvious.

  1. no guarenteed prize pool
  2. stale old games
  3. mandatory registration

ESSSSS TEEEEEEE…! :wow:

Hopefully 100 of those ST players are mad scrubbish.

I know I am.

I mean…uh…you better watch out, foolios.

It has nothing to do with the fact that it’s single game.

wow at that ST number, we might see some upsets??

an unknown could walk away with the title…

Oh shit Im not too late!!!

what day/time does ST start?

This statement makes no sense lol.

i have a feeling this evo is going to have dinosauric numbers

First of all, I don’t think numbers are low, but I guess for a national it should be expected to be higher than what was already stated here.

Second, EVO can’t be blamed that Capcom hasn’t been able to pump out a fighting game worth a shit since 2001. Right now the fighting game community is very stale, simply because there’s nothing to play. Tekken 6 not on consoles yet doesn’t help. At least Soul Calibur 4 is out, but that game has had very mixed success at tournaments. At least EVO is trying to entice gamers to come and try four new fighters, it’s a smart move. Myself however would just prefer to play the final builds, rather than wait in a line to probably play one match of an unfinished game. Not my idea of fun or a vacation.

Third, as Joey said the loss of sponsorship resulting in lack of guaranteed prize pools is the straw that broke the camel’s back. People are hungry, and the prospect of going to the nationals, winning, and still being 1k in debt for the trip isn’t exactly the most attractive thing.

Next year will be night and day from this year. We will have guaranteed 2, if not 3 new games to play. And we’ll actually have versions we agree upon playing - holy shit, that would be nice for a change. That will be enough to do the job, even if EVO doesn’t get sponsorship back in time.

how does that not makes sense? theres so many people that have 2874687264782 excuses to not sign up online. theres also a reason why registration was extended. The second wiz closed registration, people started emailing him to register. Lazy fucks that had a long time to do this shit. It’s like people purposely waited for registration to end to re-affirm their status as the ultimate procrastinator. =D
