Registration is now closed, see you in Vegas, pools should be out Tuesday

wow,

nah its all good dude…Ill introduce you if you want…

But hey you think payin 50 bucks is worth it ta play SFIV…?

I don’t know why this is hilarious to me…

Is she hot?

I think it’s more worth it if you also play HD Remix, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and apparently the word is Blazblue will be there as well. I’d pay 50 bucks just for SFIV though. That’s probably what I’ll be playing the most any ways. It just looks good. Very stylish and has enough of the old school yet still has that very fresh look and feel to it. Kinda the reason why I liked 3S so much as well. It was a fresh take on a game I really liked and really got into it.

Oh and about the mom thing…there’s a guy that goes to our local tourneys and this older guy almost always watches as he’s playing. At first I thought he was just some new staff member checking out the games but apparently this guy seriously liked to watch fighting games. Then I realized it was his dad. His dad will even bet on or against him in money matches. Serious ass fighting game dad. For those that live in my area…ya’ll know who I’m talking bout. Be nice if he could go to Evo one day.

yes… its completely worth it…

and if you do pay, might as well pay ten more to play in tournament and see how you do

yeah dude I hear what your sayin…

As for payin SFIV I think im goin be able to get my hands on it at Comic Con this week and as for enterin the Mvc2 tourney I was thinkin bout it but if I shill out 60 bucks to probably get fucked up in the first three games I play that aint worth it…

Id rather save that 60 bucks and play money matches, put up side bets, drink and maybe if I got enough money left…eat…

I appreciate the input especially about SFIV cause I want to play that aganist real gamers you know…

Speaking of SFIV is it possible to play the game like Cvs2…It looks as if it has the potenial to play similar to it…I was wonderin if any real Cvs2 players have got hands on it yet…?

SFIV plays more like a mix of ST and 3S. The game was pretty much purposely made that way to try to please both old school and newer 3S fans. CVS2 in itself plays a bit like ST so you’ll feel at home knowing that similar basic strategies will work in IV.

Will the Evo site have a list of registees and what games they entered? Or are they not doing that anymore?

ok this question was prolly already answered about a billion times so ill ask it yet again. What Japan players will be in attendance at EVO? Daigo etc… i heard that there may not be any in attendance …

Actually…that question hasn’t really been asked much. Let alone answered. I’m assuming BAS, Nuki and Tokido are givens (they come EVERY year) but from there…I dunno. Maybe Thanatos.

Confirmed are:

Nuki
Bas
Tokido
Kindevu
Miu

The past two Evo’s T-shirts were free thanks to Toyota sponsorship.

I’m not sure if previous Evo’s gave out free shirts or this year for that matter.

IIRC they costed money back at B4/B5/Evo2k3, so if I had to guess I’d say they’d cost you a little money this year.

when you say mm aren’t free what do you mean by that?

i’m wondering if paying 50 bucks to try out 2 new and 1 not so new games is worth it since i’m not entering any tourneys.

You’ve gotta put up some money for a money match. You can’t come empty handed and ask for a money match obviously.

T shirts…yeah probably not free this year. I don’t get any extra Evo merchandise any ways. I’m just there for the event.

Here is a scenario that i hope people have looked into. The sky rocketing cost of fuel has caused airlines to cancel or delay flights. This just happened to a coworker of mine. He was heading to Vegas and he was bumped for 36 hours and a different airline. If this happens to anyone that is planning to attend Evo you probably will miss your event thus rendering your trip a waste. Are there any plans on dealing with this situation if it occurs?

Yeah…I pray every year that some crazy shit doesn’t happen to me on the way to Evo. Airplanes are random. The only way I think that would even be accommodated for is if like a 1/4th of the people attending happened to get delayed flights. Like multiple top players n shit. Even then it would be tough since they cut the amount of tourney games by 2 from last year just to make sure they had time for everything in the first place.

I’m inquiring if there will be SF machines for us to practice on before August 8th at the Tropicana Hotel. I’m guessing previous tourney veterans can answer this. Many thanks in advance! :wgrin:

Um…no. Unless the Tropicana has an arcade and they’ve already bought a SFIV machine. Nothing will be on the floor till Friday morning. Apparently you can practice Tekken 6 at some other hotel though.
