as for the T5 tournament yes, its going to be this saturday along with our ID:ASv3 tournament since tomhilfiger at tekkenzaibatsu is organizing it and we have already a large amount of participants entering, on top of regulars that play here. alas no freeplay though, sorry 
I don’t have a clue where. I had always assumed arcades had a “Members-Only” channel of sales and distribution, kind of like how property landlords have their secret club of tenants’ credit reports. The only #R arcade kit for sale I’ve ever seen is at coinopexpress.com ($1.3K, asia kit so converter harness needed, S+H from Hong Kong), but I don’t know how to distinguish buggy vers based on labels. Wish Sammy had a “identify buggy product by serial number” checker like Palm Computing (now Palm One) did. Being able to read Japanese would also probably help…
As a compromise, can the token changers be set to 6/$1?
P.S. on a side note, if you’re looking for cvs2, may want to give UCLA’s X-Cape a ring. Their second cvs2 died, failing GD-ROM is my understanding (the cab got Zombie Revenge). Might be able to set up a transaction, then scrounge around for a spare GD-ROM drive (again…). Then again, they might not be willing to give up any of their old kits (their back room is crammed with old games, so says their mech, who took the trouble to swap out cvs2 for ZR). I’m just a lowly peon there, so I’m a bit oblivious on the details.

ggs to the GGXX crowd. Or at least the handful of them, and especially the one who worked me with I-No.
Getting #R is going to be a boon. Every time I play GGXX vs, more than one person wishes out loud for #R. UCLA, FFA, CGL, RFC… everywhere, everytime. I don’t really mind that much, since I’m accustomed to GGXX’s May and she’s all-upgrades in #R, but then there’s no one to play against in XX.
BTW, RFC’s GGXX P1 Punch button is a little quirky. When I hold it, it randomly unpresses itself. It’s as if when I jiggle the button while holding, it decides to flip the microswitch at random. I got “rapid-fire” FD a few times due to it (b+P+K). Normal tapping works fine, it’s just when I need charge-P moves, it randomly releases itself. I can live with it, but it makes it a lot tougher for me to take on Sol.
Ah so your the May player? I took a glimpse of the GGXX and saw I-no fighting May I think, so I think it was May, I know I saw I-no though, I would have challenged if I didnt have to run the Initial D tournament. Maybe next time D:

Yes. And I was crouching/kneeling a lot since my wrists were getting sore from being bent so much while I was standing. I need a portable seat. I’ve seen the retail prices for bar stools, so I’m not expecting any new stools at RFC for a while.
I’d like to see how I stack up in GG. What’re your off hours that we can meet? I can come in most days after 2p.

PhaethonH, i usually play only in the early mornings so you prob wont catch me there, probably on saturday though, this sat at the tournament in which Im hoping will be a decent turnout. we might have 2 3rd strike cabs soon, still in the process of looking for #reload verB, so more changes in the near future.
the controller port of T5 seem to be working, I saw 2 different people use it already recently and it seemed fine, i’ll ask the tech no more time about it, he said that there wasnt anything wrong with it, said the controllers used should be in a good condition thats it.
I’ll probably go through the cabs once and replace any worn-out cherry switches for the buttons and double check the 360’s are hitting their designated areas before this saturday. I’ll try my best anyways.

Tourney for which games? I got a bit confused over what is when, due to T5 being suddenly moved up to the 19th, and your initial post about going biweekly (been a week since). There needs to be a (more?) central place to get this stuff straightened out, enumerated, and dated. I was going to spread the word of RFC’s GGXX tourney if that was a go, but now I’m confused over when and if. And announcing right now is going to be a bit last-second for the players in the northerly parts of L.A. (who may have plans extending throughout Friday night). Nevermind that most of the usable characters in #R are unusable in XX, and the usable characters in XX are nerfed in #R. Except Eddie.
I can show up Sat morning at opening hour. I went really late last week since there wasn’t any information posted here on sign-up times (just a mention of the arcade’s opening time, which apparently was supposed to imply sign-up times as well), so I assumed “pretty late”, like 2pm.
RE: #R, apparently the announcement for the next GG title has been made. Would that put a damper on the #R arrival, since this is basically $1.3K for a game to be displaced by a god-knows-how-many-thousands dollars game in less than a year’s time?

2 week span for each just about. every other sat will be fighters or initial d. I havent been doing my job fully so yea confusion was going to be there, my fault on that and i apologize.
We might possibly end CvS2 tournament seeing theres only one cab and that game seems to be very popular in the tournament crowds sadly ours isnt in the best condition and we have you all know, just one, which is the important fact. But this saturday we’re going to do it anyways and see how it goes.
Since the game tech will be here today (thursday), I’ll see if we have time to move anything or add anything to change anything at the fighers set-up today. I’ll report back late night as usual.
