Mah name’s Danny. Dan is pink gi man, I play him.

About to get some Sakura games in. Then RROD. FML.

Sak was too much for your 360, I see.

The cuteness was too much for it :o

I haven’t played in ages.

Since I moved back to Uni, I need to get a new TV because the TV I used at home was a bit too big for my room!

Keep meaning to get a new one, but it’s so expensive this year.

Does anyone else like FADCing out of a KOing Shou then jumping up and punching them? :stuck_out_tongue: Teehee, just when they think I was letting them off nice I give them a punch in the groin :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve certainly noticed that it doesn’t matter what move you do after they’re KO’d - it always hits them square in the groin! :razzy:

Hehe, a far HP is good for that. Solid nut-punch

I feel like I just discovered how to play last week… I’ve been playing for months now, but it was just last week that I really felt like I actually improved…

jump in xx s.hp xx lk tatsu if they’re blocking so far i stop here and cross up j.lk then either finish the combo if it’s hitting, if not, cross up again or take a step further back and not cross up with j.hp for more damage!

I feel like I’ve been on the receiving end of this kinda shit for most of the time I’ve been playing. Its finally nice to be the giver for a change

In simplest terms, I figured out that after a blocked lk tatsu, I’m at the just about the right range for a cross up… I sure this forum already knew this, I think I read it somewhere before but, for me anyway, I finally learned how to use it.

oh yea, if I get a KO on the last hit of ex tatsu, the launcher, I always j.mp for the extra hit…

You mean continually cross-up? Yeah I hate people who base their whole game around it, mainly 'cause my reactions are too retardly slow to do anything about it but I’m sure that shit won’t fly on anyone half-decent :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem with trying to cross-up standing opponents with Sakura’s j.LK is that it has a small area, a simple walk forward will probably move out of range and since you’ve dedicated yourself to an attack you’re open to be thrown on landing.

The better option is to use hit confirming link combos. j.HK > c.LK > c.LP …
Now you have options, and really they’re all the same as you would after a Light Shunpuu only a bit more subtle.

  1. end the block string with c.LK > cross-up j.LK (that’s your cross-up option :P)
  2. throw attempt
  3. FA1 > backdash (forward dash not really ideal after an FA1)
  4. FA2 > dash (can be risky)
  5. small combo or single poke (including overhead)
  6. back dash
  7. vertical jump
  8. and finally just block

That about covers it, some options are obviously better than others :stuck_out_tongue:

Also if you like your cross-ups a blocked EX Shunpuu leaves them in the correct position for j.LK to cross-up, so that’s what, 4 things that leave them in a cross-up position without having to move around a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been practicing c.lk>c.lp>c.hp xx ex tatsu after a cross under j.lk because I got thrown once and ever since then I decided to start off that combo with lp+lk option select throw tech (well, I also noticed obey562 doing it… lol I look at his hands while hes playing)

I don’t think I could get the timing right for those 2 links and still be able to change my mind at the end… If I start with the c.lk option select, my hands/muscle memory are more or less committed do doing the whole thing through to the c.hp xx ex tatsu… I can handle j.hp xx c.hp xx lk tatsu then have time to change my mind about what to do next based on what happened on screen. it hit? link c.hp xx ex tatsu… they blocked? jump, try to throw, block…the rest of the stuff on your list

Yeah I know what you mean, I can recognise a hit and follow through on the combo or recognise the block and stop at c.LP but after stopping I take too long to think of what to do next :frowning:

Light Shunpuu does give you more thinking time but it also gives them more thinking time too. Also if you jump-in and c.HP/s.HP every time you’re not giving them any reason to block low. That can be remedied with c.MK xx Light Shunpuu but then you need to use c.HP for the link on crouching opponents, which is twice as hard as s.LP with less range :frowning:

Not bad to mix it up a bit I guess, keep them on their toes with the odd Light Shunpuu. I usually use it off cross-ups rather than straight jump-ins. Of course getting to jump in safely is another matter too :stuck_out_tongue:

I am going to petition for a pantiless Sakura in SSFIV.

Not really.

Just switch to PC, Joe!

XD Can find a mugen character for that :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to be the same - a useful trick while you’re still having to concentrate hard on the timing is to just change the EX tatsu to LK tatsu if they block. Against some of the smaller characters it’ll whiff (which is bad ) but usually it’ll connect and then you’ve got the same options listed above.

Yeah I saw the PC mod. I really want it now. Maybe I’ll break down and get the PC one. Hope my computer can handle it. I’ll probably clean this thing out anyways.

I saw the MUGEN one but I really couldn’t see anything. PM please. You know what, I’m a perv, just PM any dirty Sakura pics. Gimme gimme gimme.

Good to see you like my avatars. I haven’t mastered it yet, but when I do, free avs for all!

I know this is random…
