Reboot of old school fighting games IP's

Fixed. Sadly, however, given how things are looking, it might happen. :frowning:

After a bit more thought it’d be nice to see another rival schools. That game was fun.

It looked really nice for its day and the mechanics felt on point.

That’s the point.

I think the problem with reviving old franchises is that it lessens the chances of getting new ones. Like how in the entirety of the IV series there are 6 brand new characters. Just 6! That’s nuts. Or in KOF 13 there are 0 new characters. Lame.

.

Ono on CVS3 would be the worst thing ever.

Actually I wouldn’t mind having the IV system and the KOF13 system added as grooves.

Maybe since they’ll probably go with 3-D graphics they can make it so the SNK grooves have only light and heavy buttons and maybe even groove select per character?

I wouldn’t mind seeing a new Jojo’s. That game looked absolutely BONKERS and it’d be hilarious to see Niitsuma’s take on it. Steamrollers and all that shit have to be included though.

I don’t care if it doesn’t make any sense.

There are only two choices now. It’s a completely new franchise(from Capcom? LOLZ) or a resurrection.

Sacrifices must be made for the greater good.

why do people call KI an american series when it was done by Rare, a British company?

considering that the SS entry that they did was probably the most boring in the series i would pass

Very interesting what you mention, the only thing that worries me is that seeing the gap right now between these franchises audiences and the direction of both companies the style of play can be tricky to please everyone, I think is nice to see opportunities if someone is interested in the franchise right now, but in my opinion the best thing is to wait for new devs and producers in order to add new ideas to the franchise learning from past mistakes of both companies.

In the long run, it’s more like a lesser of two evils, really.

Just started playing recently, and it’s fun. I think Shonen Jump owns the license though, so they’d have to pry that from them. Besides, there’s a whole slew of new characters for them to work with.

That’s still way more credentials then Rage of the Dragons for Power Instinct.

Edit: How many times do I have to say Capcom doesn’t have the Jojo’s License anymore.

On the original topic :

Bloody Roar 5 would be pretty awesome. Lets… um… just forget that whole 4 business, yes?

Bushido Blade 3. 'nuff said.

Tobal 3 or Ehrgeiz 2. I figure I can only get one of these, which is sad since both were pretty enjoyable for what they were.

**Samurai Shodown 7 **would be kinda cool, just, erm… I’m weird and would prefer something more like SS3 in terms of feel.

Waku Waku 7 II. What’s that? A fairly solid, kind of awesome Darkstalkers-esque game getting a sequel? Yes please.

Compared to Reverge and SNK though, Capcom is hardly doing squat with community feedback.

I was gonna say Bushido Blade 3, but somebody beat me to it.

Otherwise a half-reboot of Samurai Shodown, leaving out 5 and 6.

And I'm actually kind of cynical of 'community feedback'. Playing skill has almost nothing to do with knowing how to make a game good.

It’s easy to forget considering how meh Rare is today. I also don’t know much about it’s sales, but I’ve always figured that it is most popular in the US and that can lead to confusion.

Yeah

Ah, what a shame. They could still revisit CvS with a sequel and TvC is gonna be in a great position once the Wii U releases.

Every time a nub talks about the game.

They’ve done an okay job all things considered. SFIV just doesn’t play well for me at all, but they have tons of costumes, tons of characters, lots of stages and a lot of attention for important modes(replay, netcode, online training mode incoming, etc.). UMvC3’s costumes and character picks shows that there is a lot of love there from Niitsuma’s team too. The unfortunate part about UMvC3’s case is that Mahvel is the red headed step child compared to Street Fighter, Capcom executives are greedy as fuck and Marvel is being really unreasonable with Capcom when it comes to stuff like alternate costumes, roster choices and release periods.

My wishlist:

  • KI
  • Bushido Blade
  • Kizuna Encounter
  • CvS3 (not now)
  • Clayfighter (lololol)

To me, SV4 is the posterboy for how ‘community feedback’ can go terribly wrong. They tried to please both ST and 3S players and ended up with something really dodgy.

(bold mine)

It’s the one slot that currently isn’t filled, the ‘almost any hit is crippling/active defense really matters’ game.

Of course Bushido Blade is the only game that ever did that at all… I always wonder why it didn’t get more interest.

No, anything remotely good about the game he’ll take away in favor of boring/stupid mechanics in fear of being broken.

P.S. These are horrible ideas.

I’d be for the tactical switches from KOFXI though.

Weaponlord.
