Real Urien Unblockables/combos

Translation?

cr.hp is obvious, but crush? I’m guessing headbutt or tackle, but you didn’t say what button, nor what buton aegis, if this is midscreen, corner, or what.

You don’t even need to do that, as aegis can be cancelled off tackles with a single fireball motion. It is pretty comical though, I’ve found the jump and jab timing odd enough that I don’t like it.

ex Headbutt -> mk tackle xx qcf fp -> walk towards them and jump jab, and then dash under.

I was experimenting with tackles and what not that is required to get alex to fly backwards like that, I found the following works slightly easier, as you don’t need to confirm the headbutt.

c. fp -> ex headbutt -> lk tackle xx fp aegis -> keep the joystick in the forward position after the fireball for charging -> rk tackle.

If all is done correctly, you zip under Alex right as he’s landing. With you on the opposite side of reflector, and Alex in the middle, do the standard guard break & elbow. It’s not repeatable as the ex headbutt eats meter but still could be handy for those who’re not 100% with the Alex setup discussed above. Anyone have advice on to charge timing for that one? c. fp -> mk tackle -> dash towards -> strong -> rk tackle. It’s still an oddball to me, as I charge during the dash/strong. Should I treat it as a slightly shorter version of throw -> mp reflector -> dash -> headbutt? :S I can pull it off I just can’t get it 100% and when I think I figured the “exact” timing I always mess up the next attempt. Not looking for “when” to charge, more just for what other setups it’s comparable to.

Someone mentioned a new video of an unblockable? Where is it? Oh and what’s the midscreen unblockable for Q? I remember he had a REALLY easy one but I don’t remember. Oh and how many tackles can you do on Q in the corner?

Edit: oh and if you use EX Headbutt, then why don’t you do this combo?
Cr.fierce, EX headbutt, cancel to jab aegis, whiff mk tackle, guard break.

ps i prefer dash back crMK i have timming problem with crHP

after the hk knee drop i think it’s a FP headbutt not a MP

yes i use HP lol mp work on ibuki and dudley i test on other character …

edit after test headbuttMP work sometime but use hp

New unblockable? they’re probably referring to the latest RX video with the crazy Alex combo. It’s at Comvovideos.com in the New combo videos section I think.

As for the easy Q unblockable, I’ll toot my own horn and tell you to go download Drunken Master’s 3rd Quick and Dirty Video, which can also be downloaded at CV in the new combo videos section.

Why would you want to do unblockables midscreen on Q as there is 1000000000 better things to do… like damage? BIG damage.

Ok so im trying to get down the corner cr hp > mk tackle > lk/mk tackle ive done it maybe 10 times outta 60 lol i was wondering if there are any visual pointers that i may be missin or is it just a matter of gettin it down and letting muscle memory do the work ?

I was a srcub who used these forums to learn how to tackle, but stilll, these questions get old… I feel a sticky is required.

Oh, nothing against you bro, we all went through learning two tackles. It’s pretty tight, and definitely not “easy”.

But it’s been done to DEATH here, and has been explained a bazillion times.

How do i use the kneedrop or the dash back tackle to push the opponent back into aegis for the corner unblockable after the short tackle xx jab aegis?
I know that i can just walk back but i want to be flashy.

So i’m basically asking what is the button i use for the kneedrop and what is the timing partition

and also the jump straight up

Urien isn’t about being flashy. Just walk back.

If you still insist on doing it then… it’s like any other dash-back headbutt/kneedrop/tackle. Just make sure to charge during his dash-back animation.

But you know… I think it’s almost better, hell… It IS better to just tackle them back into aegis(ex: cr.fp > tackle > lp AR > tackle > j.fp > reset > uoh/cr.short >) and then jump towards them with a j.fp and reseting them. This is really good for building meter too if you’re not comfortable with doing 2 tackles.

If they parry, you laugh, and attack again. If they go into block just do a cr.short or a uoh. 50/50.

since this is the most active urien thread here is a question that is not an unblockable setup but just a regular pressure setup.

i saw this in a KSK vs RX video, shirube_2_-_02_best_bout_selection_01-08.wmv (if you want to look for it). RX juggles alex after what seems to be a dash and resets with a cr.Jab negative edges a metallic sphere and super cancels it into an aegis.

how the fuck did he get that jab out? it seems impossibe, is it just 1f timing or does it only work on a certain version (i’m using PS2 version for refrence) or was the juggle state caused by alex’s dash what caused it! he;p!

edit: awesome its just really hard timing! anyway, does this setup work on more than alex in a jumping state of P headbutt? since that would help me out a lot!

i think i know what you mean, i can remember that vid well he does light headbutt, c.lp reset xx light fireball aegis and then sweep of f+hp

Hugo/Alex/Urien are reset-able with c.lp after a light headbutt if im not mistaken…

thanks man, is it hitbox related or just weight related? (since they are pretty big characters i’m going to assume hitbox)

also, a lot of this info in the thread is really appreciated, i started picking up the game a couple months ago and am working on character specific corner unblockables so this has been an awesome resource for me!
