Real Bout Fatal Fury 2

Since I have been unable to find a thread about RBFF2 in this section, and the search function isn’t working for me, I figured I may as well get one going. Let’s discuss this awesome game, which is in my opinion the best of the Fatal Fury/Garou Densetsu games. I’ve also started a wiki for RBFF2, I only put up a little bit of stuff up, mostly the basics and junk. But please, feel free to contribute and add in your stuff, since I doubt I’ll ever have the time to finish it all by myself. Although, I’ll do a character section for Kim at the least.

Speaking of Kim, he is my main character in this game pretty much, he’s just too awesome, and has some really neat combo’s. My favorite one is his s.C, s.A, s.B, s,C, d, u + A, d + A. Easy 8 hit combo, and will take off roughly 45% of your opponents life. It can be a bit tricky to connect though because you have to be very close. This makes it difficult when your fighting a constantly moving opponent, so the best time to pull this one out is after your opponent makes an attack that has a long recovery time, or you do a backline C attack, and if it hits, you can combo right into it.

The wikipedia stuff you wrote doesn’t even explain the combo system. It is obviously different than alot of other SNK games (atleast that I’m familiar with, such as kof, garou, svc, etc).

It’s a work in progress, I’m writing this stuff down all from the top of my head and it’s really early in the morning for me. I’ll explain the combo system best I can when I put more thought into it. Right now I’m concerned with the basics more than anything else. Combo’s can wait, they are an important aspect of the game, but not the #1 priority ethier.

I’m sure some other contributers will come along as well and add onto this, I’m mostly just giving this a jump start to help build up some interest in this game. It’s a really great game if more people would give it a try, it’s only a year older than Garou:MOTW.

Beelzebubbles FAQ is the best resource I know of now for RB2 info…

Link Please

I’ts at http://www.neo-geo.com/ check the forums he posted some character strategies and game system info as well. There are also some good FAQS at http://www.gamefaqs.com that explain the game pretty clearly. Take care.

Thanks. Noticed the gamefaqs content already, have been using the faq by a guy named o’neil but it seems to have some inaccuricies.

I’ve been using O’Neil’s guide for quite awhile, it’s pretty good, but now that you mention it, I did notice a few inaccuracies here and there, but it’s no biggie to me. I took a look at Beelzebubbles FAQ, it’s written kinda akwardly and I’ve found it rather confusing unless read carefully. It’s not too bad though. I think with a bit of dedication, we could pull together a nice easy to comprehend wiki.

The best thing about Wiki’s is no doubt the navigation. Its yummy.

Necroing this thread with a question. I saw a match where Chonrei does a fireball that has the same startup animation as his qcb,f+C fireball, but it’s blue, stays in place, and does several hits. You can see it in this match, 1st round, after he throws Franco into the corner:

http://rb2.sakura.ne.jp/061104franco-vs-chonrei.zip

^That’s his S. Power-
F, HCF+HOLD :snkb::snkc:
If u are in P. Power you get a variation to his S. Power-
F, HCF+(Press not hold) :snkb::snkc:, then tap :snkc: 3 times.

Also an interesting thing I saw in a combo vid for Rick, and is 100% do-able when in S. or P. Power:-
You can cancel his QCB+A into his QCF+C when the guage is full.
