>> READ THIS BEFORE POSTING: Forum RULES and stickies! (UPDATED 28Sep2009)

This thread exists to take the place of the (way too many) stickies we have up here. You need to read this before making your first post to make sure you are clear on the rules so you dont get infracted or banned.

So, the forum specific rules:

**1.) Search first, create a topic second. ** Making a topic about something that already has one is a great way to get your topic closed and earn an infraction.

2.) Put character specific topics and posts in the appropriate character sub-forum. Making a topic like ‘Ways to beat Zangeif with Blanka’ in the SF4 general discussion area is another wonderful way to earn infractions!

3.) Read all of the very informative threads linked in this very post. They will help to keep you of making a fool of yourself on your very first day! Beyond that, read the SRK forum’s rules to ensure your stay here is both helpful and prosperous.

4.) NO THREADS ABOUT JOYSTICKS. TAKE STICK TALK TO TECH TALK FORUMS.

5.) >>>>> NO TALKING ABOUT ILLEGAL THINGS!!! <<<<<
THIS MEANS ILLEGAL WAYS OF ACQUIRING THE GAME, DOWNLOADING SOUNDTRACK, TORRENTS, ISOs, LEAKS, ETC.
YOU WILL BE BANNED.

6.) NO MORE “EARLY RELEASE THREADS”. USE THE EXISTING ONE HERE

7.) If you are a new user to Shoryuken.com, or new to Street Fighter or have noobish questions, use THIS THREAD HERE. Creating your own noob question thread will get you infracted.

8.) Do NOT make a ‘Good Games’ thread here. This is a thread where you and other players congratulate each other for well played online game. Take this kind of thing to the Xbox Live or Playstation Network section of the forums.

9.) Do NOT make a PS3 vs 360 version thread. This topic is pointless and isnt really about Street Fighter 4, how to play it, or anything related to it. Both versions are virtually identical.

**10.) THREAD TITLES MUST BE DESCRIPITVE AND INFORMATIVE. General topics such as, “Question about FADC”, “I hate online scrubs” or “How do I do this move” need to replaced with distinctive topics like “How do I land SRK FADC Ultra?”, “Complaints about noobs in SF4 netplay”, or “Problems executing step kick”.

Not everyone has to be a grammar champion, but your topics need to make it so the reader has a good idea of what’s in the thread BEFORE clicking. No more of this “Cool FADC trick” click here bs. We ask for a little effort from you, the poster. It’ll will go a long way, thanks.

This rule does not invalidate any rules regarding posting in the wrong thread/subforum.
There will be no exceptions to this rule, any threads in violation are subject to title change, closure with the creators receiving an infraction. You HAVE been warned.*** added 04/06/2009

**11.) Super Street Fighter 4 (aka Series 3/formerly known as SF4 Dash) threads are to go in the Super SF4 sub forum. You are free to make more threads, but be forewarned that they will likely be closed if the topic is already discussed in another thread. Do not clutter the forum with meaningless SSF4 threads. **

And now, the threads you should read before posting:

The SF4 FAQ Thread- Read this and stop asking the same questions over and over. This stuff has been answered, and all you need to do is read the answers here.

Lee Harris’ ‘How to Make a Local Tournament Scene’ Guide and Discussion - A very helpful guide on how to build a competitive scene in your area.

The SF4 Video Thread - Post all links to videos in this thread, not in new ones!

Shoryuken.com Wiki - You can find insane information on everything here. If you want to write guides, sign up for an account here and start contributing.

EventHubs SF4 Guide - This is an independently-created guide to SF4. However, you can’t add to it like you can Shoryuken.com’s own wiki linked above!

Remember, be smart! This is an informational discussion forum. Search for your answers and topics before going for that ever-so-tempting ‘New Topic’ button.
