Razer Copperhead Upgrade

For all the people who have this mouse, have you guys upgraded it yet? I have one brand new that I plan to upgrade as soon as I take it out of the box. Problem is that there are two aspects, the driver itself and the firmware. There is only one driver so that’s no problem, and the driver itself also seems to include the firmware updating program. That’s fine, however this is where I’m confused as to what I should do. The driver comes with Firmware 6.19 in the same file, though it’s not installed when you install the driver. But, Razer also released a new firmware, version 6.20. With most programs and pieces of hardware, you can generally just skip any previous releases and go straight to the latest, but the differences between the two firmwares are pretty big. 6.19 gives Vista support, whereas 6.20 only allows the mouse to be usable in conjunction with a non powered (Externally I’m assuming) USB hub. So I was wondering, if it’s ok for me to just skip to the latest firmware as it will give me everything the previous ones did plus whatever is included in this new one, or if I have to go through 6.19 and then 6.20. I know it depends on whatever it is you’re upgrading, but generally upgrading to the latest one gives you everything. But I know certain instances where you had to go through specific ones to get to the latest. IE Call of Duty 4 for the PC. Any suggestions?

I normally don’t do any firmware updates unless I’m experiencing any kind of bugs. Firmware updates are cumulative, so you don’t really need to flash 6.19 before flashing 6.20 (I never did so with mine). I don’t quite remember what firmware my Copperhead has since I got a Lachesis I while back.

I’m curious… why did you get the Copperhead instead of the new Diamondback?

I got it a while back on woot, and just never opened it until now, since I got a new keyboard to complement. And thanks Renesis.
