After being cheesed out by Rashid doing his damn ground spinning mixer (-2) into EX anti-air spinning mixer BS, I went to the lab. Always neutral jump. It makes the EX spinning mixer whiff completely and you land right next to him for the crush counter. I punished this guy twice and then I decided to push some buttons after to check him and he did it again. And again.

If the Rashid is smart and does it once to condition you, then next time he’ll just throw you. You can’t punish ground spinning mixer anyways so it’s kind of a lose lose in the rock paper scissors game. Just neutral jump.

Also remember you can punish his running and grounded eagle spike with df.hp but make sure you give up charge during blockstun or you’ll do a blast.

His running eagle spike is easily caught by V-skill but his grounded one comes out really fast and it’s hard to react to. You can V-skill absorb running eagle spike and still have time to punish with df.hp. It’s kind of pointless when you can just block and punish but I guess the more you know or some shit.

Runs the risk of Rashid using his normals to hit your jump, but it does cover two of his options after Mixer, so that’s good to keep in mind. Works in the corner as well, or only midscreen?

I also want to figure out if it’ll work off other -2 moves, such as s.mk and s.hk, Rashid likes to EX Mixer after just about anything.

I can’t vskill the dropkick fast enough in general.

I am pretty aggravated with doing accidental blasts when I wanna swipe them with df.HP though.

You can punish Nashs F+HP with HP SKs or H Inferno, the probs are that you might not have charge to cancel HP into SKs and at some range H Inferno whifs, than theres the spacing prob, you might be super far to punish and HP on whif isn´t something you want to happen, anyways most of the time you can punish with HP, also EX Blast in this match up is a must, use it ALOT to close the gap, also VS his Moonsaults (or jump MP/HP), if you pressure Nash watch out for VR and if he does it either throw or jump back at him, also if you want to bait Nashs VT use meaty cr LP, if you time it well you beat the start up of VT, if not you can react to wath he does, meaty cr LP is a good bait for VS to.

Rashid is a match up that you have to play mobile and know wath his gimmicks are, you can punish (most of the time) his jump kick move (I think it´s called eagle spike?) with HP SKs, if Rashids do VT in neutral, try to jump back HP to catch the jump kick move or use EX blast against it just in case, it´s not the best ideia because you waste an EX and VT is still there but you get some time and if they do the move they get KD, if you block spinning mixer use LK into L blast, keep him out and you will be fine, he can´t zone you well if you have meter and even if you don´t it´s ok, his damage isn´t scary unless he uses alot of meter and VT, bait EX reversal, It´s a match up that I found to go well If I play all over the place here and play like a wall there, don´t get furstrated and furstrate him, if you punish his moves and stop him from doing wath he want it´s an ok match up.

For me it’s not the neutral but when he knocks you down in the corner. It’s just brutal continuous pressure that he can loop into. Lots of tight strings and good enough walk speed so that at that range he can dance out of your attempts to poke him out of stuff and throw easily or counterhit. I dunno I haven’t had too much trouble with him besides that. I played a long set against a good Japanese Rashid player that seemed to be pretty much on my level and we went even for the most part. I think his frenetic play style is his undoing especially since we capitalize so much on mistakes.

Also, if the dumb spinning mixer/throw/normal mixup is annoying you, if he doesn’t fully mash out his ummm spinny grounded move to get the plus frames, you can neutral jump and it will make the ex spinning mixer/throw whiff. At worst he swats you out of the air. It’s a good option.
