Easily the best animated character so far. At first glance he look like like generic Arab stereotype, but when you start noticing his gear and gadgets that are made to blend in with his outfit (like having a head piece that looks like an egal - the black ring holding down his white ghutra) you really begin to appreciate his concept more.
They also managed to get the shadows underneath his ‘skirt’ to look decent, unlike Bison’s.
He reminds me of Ken a lot by the way, his attitude, his stance, and movements. Not to mention both are from rich families. Move over Rufus, there’s gonna be a new campy rivalry in town.
It’s really weird that we haven’t formally gotten a write up, character art or the reveal trailer on the SF YouTube page yet. Those things usually come out shortly after a character is announced, but we’re nearing a full day now with nothing from Capcom’s social media or on Capcom Unity.

The command hop is Rashid’s first V-Skill (MP+MK) which you can follow up with a dive kick (K in Air)
The rolling kick is Rashid’s secondary V-Skill (D+MP+MK)
This means that the medium range hop is just his V-Skill being cancelled early into dive kick
It also means you can EX from his V-Skill ( which threw me off ) most likely by pressing KK
The short backflip must be his back dash

Given the history between the Middle East and the US, among many other things (such as the whole fighting off of Westernization etc) Capcom had no choice but to come correct with this character, which from the general consensus here, they did. Looks good, very fluid animations, very original (albeit a fuerte and Cody amalgamation- but hey that in itself is original) and alot of personality. Good job!!!

I’m honestly starting to think these artworks don’t mean anything.
That’s cool as fuck if at least the new characters get a stage representative of their respective homelands.
It throws Ken Bogard’s info for a loop if Rashid is from Dubai, considering he mentioned India, Brazil, and Africa specifically. Then again, it could be a Hakkan situation all over again, where the leaker either didn’t know enough about brown cultures to understand what they were seeing/being told or their personal biases colored how they presented the info. Hence, how we thought Hakkan was an Arabic oil tycoon before he was revealed.
Rashid might very well be from Dubai, and Ken Bogard just doesn’t know jack shit about North Africa, the Middle East, Dubai, and/or India.
