Rogueyoshi is in Philly, Steve Harrison is in Baltimore I believe…
Oh foreal. Cool thx DG
Lol, are you serious? Just so you can hopefully catch on…if the US comes to Japan and wins SBO, it’s a victory for the US. If the US loses first round, it’s not much of a victory for Japan. Now, if the US continuously loses first round (which seems to be what’s been happening for the most part), then yeah it’s an obvious victory for Japan.
No the judgements have nothing to do with GGPO results, though Hummer’s skills on GGPO are worth nothing. I know for certain Japan’s better, but I don’t know for certain who will win…because when it gets into a battle of who lands the angel infinites in a match, it’s possible for anyone to win.
If Kula enters a Japanese tournament and say loses first round, it’s not really that meaningful. If Kula gets far in the tournament, sure it’s a victory for Kula. Now if we aren’t talking about tournaments and Kula loses the majority of his matches against various players there, then it’s an obvious victory for Japan.
I don’t think Kula can compete against these players…lol at the smirk he has in those interviews, he thinks he’s untouchable. I’m sure he doesn’t have that smirk now after encountering cola321, who’s really just an average player in Taiwan.
blackempire, i never see you on GGPO
ok understood
Shakes head, Wtf is your problem
as i mention before
Who cares if you dont see me when your on. I dont see you when i have the time to get on. Shit is absurd.
*In case you wana know why? Im going through a crisis right know where I need to find me a better job so I can support my self, Because I dont live with my damn parents, im a grown damn man & they cant support me anymore. I guess you dont know what thats like huh?
I dont have time to be playin the game all day . While Im trying to stay on my grind in real life.*
Besides i rather play offline at the momment…Scratch that edit: Play offline PERIOD, ggpo is getting annyoing. Half of the time you cant trust the player unless there are well known like (F.E. “Yessterday”) or personally known, cause people who you can randomly play at times generally use macros.
Guess who im talking about. (emil) Not calling you this but your coming off to me as and habitual asshole by reading many of your post.
Double
- Then it’s evenly matched, if Japan is better as you say then they will show it. I know you’ve heard the best player wins a tournament right? Well hold onto that thought AND consider what I am going to say in #2. Being better also means weathering the pressure etc, all of that is taken into account. Peyton Manning may be in some way SMARTER and MORE TALENTED than Tom Brady, but who is regarded as the BETTER QUARTERBACK AND WHY?
**TOM BRADY. Why? SIMPLE-WINS.
**
That’s my criteria for Mexico vs. Japan and anyone- WINS. If you win it doesn’t matter if the other person is “more talented” or anything like that, Peyton Manning chokes most of the time and Tom Brady gets the job done when it counts and that…is all that matters. Most of the meetings in between Peyton and Tom during the season Tom wins and then Tom gets it done TOURNAMENT TIME, thus Tom=Better than Peyton and Peyton CLEARLY is a more talented quarterback. Tom wins most of the personal matches between the two and has won more TOURNAMENTS than Peyton has.
- This is why my tournament setups are how they are…this is not just about the 2002 tournament. I want to give people the whole picture, thus Hummer will play versus almost everyone in Juarez and whoever comes in 2002. We will get the full picture. Reason I say it’s a victory for Mexico (for certain Game of Death when he had the sanwa) is because Danke lost in the tournament and he lost 98% of his matches vs. Mexican players random and not.
And yes the Danke thing did serve a function- As I stated, it pretty much royally SQUASHED all those beliefs that a RANDOM Japanese player could come into Mexico and win for free…because that is what Danke is- a random Japanese 2002 player!
If Hummer loses in the tournament **and ** he loses against the majority of the players in Juarez (Esteban, Alexis, Severo, Zeus, Lalo, Kihara, Luis Cha, Kula, Osmani) then it’s a victory for Mexico that’s what I say. Why? You have the full picture and the skill level is very high in Mexico so this is very very possible.
So to make it clear- Loss in the tournament plus loss in individual matches=Win for Mexico.
Look at the vs. Kula thing for an example- Kula won all his individual matches (except vs. Zeus) so individual win for Kula there/Puebla etc, hell he is a monster in 2002 UM, 98UM, NeoWave, KOFXI, and he’s good in 2000.
Kula lead the South to defeat the North 21-18 even. But Juarez won the singles tournament! So then who really WON perse? The North or the South (Kula, Luis Cha, Kensou)? = EVEN. South won teams, North won singles, so thats evenly matched. If Hummer wins the majority of his personal matches and loses the tournament, then you could say something similar may have happened…but otherwise if he loses the majority of his personal matches (Mexican term) and loses in the tournament= Win for Mexico across the board.
This is why I make these things 3-4 day events, I want the FULL picture, I am not going to pay some $1,400 ticket to NOT get the full picture.
Also Kula doesn’t care really care about online trust me on that, so cola being an average player is the same like Blowback doll being an average player in Japan and HUMMER being an average player in Japan…the truth will come out when it’s OFFLINE…not online who cares about what happens online??? No one…if you do shame on you!
-DG
And since offline is what TRULY MATTERS, This is the score right now:
**Mexico 1.5, Japan 0.
**
(The .5 we are giving for JuareZ WarZone, taking into account the stick issue etc, I’ll give it a .5 for that… because though Bata lost the majority of his personal matches AND the tournament, due to stick concerns you can argue it could’ve “gone either way” so I will give Mexico .5 for JuareZ WarZone 2010.)
Part III will happen in Juarez what will be The KOF Cup…in March.
That idea/judgement sounds fair to me, let’s see what happens that day. I think we have an agreement between you and Emil about how the results will be taken. A loss/win for Hummer/Mexico will only reflect who’s better until a next tournament/matches occurs, of course offline.
I prefer the idea of you and Kula visiting Japan (first teach him to play in sanwa), take a camcorder for casuals and enter to tournaments. Japan has nothing to demonstrate, they create the game, they’re reference for any fighting game, they’re like artists making combos in tough situations, but Mexico has a better adaptability and exploit another areas, like adaptability and handling pressure, annoying mindgames, etc… but at the end Japan have the number 1 just because the myth/true about the skill and because they’re the creators and most of the time innovators.
Some need to realize the offline experience is the best method to know who’s the best (noise, pressure, money, all this atmosphere isn’t present online), also offline playing is a unique feeling, double edged, it can boost you or make you the worst player. In addition, you met people; it makes you social in a sub-culture considered anti-social. As mentioned many times before, but forgotten for whom don’t experience it.
Good online is a must in new games, is a tool to improve and know playstyles/matchups, as DG said, the tier lists are based in areas. The society and our free time changes, and playing casuals online doesn’t hurt anybody (maybe ourselves jk).
I think we are late trying to prove who’s better in that game after 8 years, whatever the result I hope we can turn the page and play 02um and make og02 a secondary tournament. In fighting games there’s always a second chance to prove who’s the best in the moment, so we will never finish in og02, and if that’s the case is better to do it in a newer game.
I really don’t know what is necessary to change in all the country og02 into 02um, and the same for og98 into 98um (not a $ issue, there’s always a way). It’s depressing to see here a lot of people (regulars in kof arcades) are staying in home playing SSF4, just like the new blood. og02 (including plus) is keeping alive kof but at the same time is killing it.
I appreciate your effort to give an actual perspective and show Kula playing um’s, telling the people there’s still future for kof. You and the DC’s guys look worried of the kof scene, at least in your area.
Enough :sad:ness.
The quality of **ONLINE **KOF players at it’s best LMAO
Danixco, very good points my friend. There is reason to be concerned for the USA Community without question, I mean you take a look at the stuff in this KOF section alone and I have highlighted many of the issues that plague this community and make it not even stand a remote chance against the likes of Mexico in most KOF games…
I wanted to add at The KOF Cup 2011 **we have the winner of KOF 2002 getting a paid trip to Lima, Peru to play the Peruvians in June in MEXICO VS. PERU 2011. **The tide is turning for 2002 UM, 98UM etc, excitement to play these other games is building in Mexico, I can only hope it continues to grow and more turn the leaf from OG 2002 to 2002UM…
So with this said we now have EVEN MORE TOP Players coming out in full swing for this tournament against Hummer and for the official North vs. South 6 ON 6, Skato from Monterrey, Bart from DF, Ruletas, Kensou, all of these players are now very interested in coming and that will just make it that much harder for Hummer to win.
So we are talking:
Alexis, Skato, Luis Cha, KHANNIBAL POSSIBLY, Lalo, Zeus, Kula, Osmani, Bart, Ruletas, Kensou, AND HUMMER being present at this tournament, so if Hummer can win this and the majority of his personal matches (Which would be a feat for anyone!) then he RIGHTFULLY deserves to win!

As Danixco says, Japan gets the #1 by default because they are the creators of the game, it’s more people buying into some myth than actual reality, I mean this ISN’T STREET FIGHTER GUYS, More play KOF around the world so to give them the prize prematurely without absolute proof is nonsense! That’s like just giving the World Cup Soccer title to either Brazil or Argentina because they look the flashiest!!! Sure they are damn good, but when is the last time they won a World Cup? Not recently correct? Then what does that mean? You can’t just GIVE THEM THE TROPHY, there may be others out there BETTER THAN THEY ARE.
Oscar- Yes I know, sad is it not? xD
Yes DG, danxico is right, as well as u , talking about giving them the trophy before the start of the competition, if it’s gonna be like that then why bother to do the tournament in the first place? also, I believe it’s sad that we still have to argue with emill , at this age of civilization oh well, but I’m glad, that people like danxico that has an objective criteria and recognizes that Asians are a bit better , but still better witouht any nationalistic blinded arguments, I do think they are better as well, and I telling this after seeing the level of play of mexico and US first hand, I have been there, no one told me, and cuz asians can play at high level, with prettr much any character, in any version of kof, examples exist in variety. But in any given time, any given match , both can win.
What
lol sorry I was typing that like in a rush, but with all those typos, it still is understandable, so which part u didn’t get ? to explain it better, thanks.
IMO
Online is casual, just as casual as playing someone offline, but it has lag and anonymity. More of playing to learn and improve skills…you can make casuals serious or place more pressure on yourself if you make it a money match or place a bet on it, etc.
Offline tournament is like the final at the end of the unit or semester, you gotta use everything you’ve learned in casuals (either offline or online), training mode and play to win, and to test how you can apply your knowledge under pressure.
Some people don’t like to play offline at a tournament, some don’t care, or scared (hehe) while some people just like playing for money at a tournament and don’t take casuals as serious as some people do. It’s all preference to me.
The reality is GGPO is good enough to have viable tournaments on, and anybody that says otherwise is a mongoloid.
Viable tournaments that may be…but better than offline? I think not. Offline is still the ultimate judge. Also to take it further I dread the day when people will argue online is better than offline, because even if online was PERFECT I still say offline is better, you learn things in real life you simply don’t see at home, like how people handle PRESSURE, adapt, stuff like that, so even when online is PERFECT, I still will say offline is BETTER.
There are a billion reasons why offline is better, but trying to downplay online and act like you can’t judge a person’s skill via GGPO is retarded and it’s what you do all the time.
Wow why do I feel like I have to repost myself over and over and over? See I’m gonna flat out say this here- I hate repeating myself over and over and over. I have said that you can judge someone’s skill online even in this video:

But again all it takes is ONE person to have “selective viewing” and choose NOT to see that video and post some nonsense like what you said. Selective viewing and listening to me is retarded as well.
I really detest selective viewing and selective listening…you know people that listen and hear ONLY what they want to hear or just skim past stuff due to possible laziness not wanting to read and then bring up something that was addressed in earlier posts…sigh I’m not even gonna bother commenting anymore…
In a nutshell, watch that video listen CLOSELY what I say in it about online and then hit me back up…
Please do not talk to me until you watch it in it’s entirety please…thanks…Geez… smdh…
You know what I’m gonna summarize the section in that video for you:
- You can gauge whether someone knows how to play online
- You cannot gauge with a 100% certainty who will win IN REAL LIFE online.
END. OF. STORY. I tell you, only on SRK…only on SRK…
The problem lies when people downplay offline saying that xyz wins just because they have “better yomi” or something like that online when you don’t know what is going on offline!!! Too many factors to take into account that’s the issue I see, unless it happens in real life its just speculation and opinion.
