Here’s the character strength chart. It’s amazing to me that instead of trying to make a balanced game, they purposely make 3/4 of the cast too weak to use.

EDIT: Also, that was the worst Demo ever. I haven’t spent much time with the Tenkaichi/Raging Blast series so I am not sure how to play (or ever what the controls are). Since the Demo just had you vs CPU and no tutorial/button chart, it took a couple of frustrating matches to learn what was going on. By the time I knew what was up, I was too fed-up with the game to play anymore.

Wow, the chart straight up says “Henchmen” and “Worthless” tier. Points for that I guess…

So what the hell do the four categories mean? Strength, Ki, etc or something like that?

Considering a majority of the cast can transform into a higher tier mid fight, it kind of is a worthless argument.

Idk if I will buy this or not yet. BT2’s entire roster was at least use able and it was balanced to a good extent (save for SS4 Gogeta and obv Vegetto).

Trust me, B3 is not as good as IW. B3 is heavily dominated by anti-TC P…the game pretty much begins to boil down to who can pressure opponents and abuse it (Most characters’ P poke is safe enough to just poke with and still maintain pressure while threatening to snuff out TCs easily…it’s stupid good for no reason). After like the 2 highest tiers, characters start to become bland and only have this as a tool. In IW, anti-TC P is pretty much nonexistant and characters are much, much more diverse in tools.

SB2 is extremely polished and adds a lot more to the Budokai game, like the aura burst mechanic and ki blast cancels. IMO it pretty much beats out the other Budokai games.

Yeah same, haven’t played SB2 (unless that’s another name for Burst Limit), but I agree with this. Prefer B3 to IW.

SB2 is good shit and I agree with Azuro IMO is the best Budokai game

If Dimps would have took all the mechanics from SB2 and transferred them to BL while keeping DMs not costing Ki and imo keeping the baseline ki system, BL would have been gdlk.

I played Shin Budokai 2 for quite a while. Great game. We need an SB3…or maybe a high-def ps3 release. That game has some awesome graphics for a portable. Music was too…silly. But the intro theme was nice. I wish there was a version with lyrics.
