My connection likes to drop between rounds, usually just before the final round. It’s obnoxious.
Usually it happens when I’m winning (yay…no points for me), but sometimes it happens when I’m losing and then I get nasty messages from people who think I quit. I didn’t. I never do. Just happened two matches in a row. Two people in PSN land are probably writing me snooty messages as I type this.
So, if you play someone on PSN named “Xykes”, here’s a newsflash:
NOT EVERY DISCONNECT IS A RAGEQUITTER.
NOT EVERY DISCONNECT IS A RAGEQUITTER.
NOT EVERY DISCONNECT IS A RAGEQUITTER.
NOT EVERY DISCONNECT IS A RAGEQUITTER.
NOT EVERY DISCONNECT IS A RAGEQUITTER.
Some of us are forced to use wireless, which may lead to problems (though, usually, my connection is fine)
Everyone on this forum and beyond needs to let that sink in fully. I hope this new DLC update understands that, too.
Why don’t more people play “Player Matches”? Screw ranking. Just set Arcade Request to “Player”, start up arcade mode and let the magic happen. Seriously, “Player Matches” are the way to go, that way the whole issue of ragequitting is moot.
I think people can tell between “No clear advantage, guy dropped” and “My ultra was about to land after I won the last match and he was on 5% health and he magically dropped.”
Legit D/C’s do indeed happen. Its also pretty easy to tell the difference.
yea yesterday was the first day ive ever had legit disc.
End of first round, both nearly dead, double hit so were on the floor and disc…
unless he saw his future in a magic 8 ball
lol, when did this thread get an ‘s’ in “Bad”? I swear it wasn’t there before.
In other news, people really make too big a deal about rage quitting. It really isn’t one of the bigger problems in SF4, and if it pisses you off that much, you probably care too much about bp. If someone DC’s on you, you still won the match…they were just lacking in moral fiber.
How do you know people aren’t just done playing and turn off there xbox at the end of the match? I do it and other people I know do it win or lose. I swear you people want to think you’re making people mad. Is it some rule now that you have to wait for the lobby screen to come up in order to turn off your console in a player match where nobody is gaining any points anyway?
Whats really funny, is when I have my mic on, I am trying to talk to the person, trying to learn, and I am met with dead silence, like their life depends on this player match.
I try to ask for a rematch after I get them low, and they DC! WTF?
I have to admit, I haven’t ran in to many rage quitters, I’m only in the 2-3k bp range currently, last night I had it happen to me 3 times in a row, all three times I sent the people semi-rude messages like “gg ragequiiter” or something of the likes.
Then roommate informed me that our internet has been going in and out.
Turns out I was accidently DC’ing not the other party, I felt bad about the messages I sent out
He had Zangief and I slowly picked him apart with Bison. I went to the other side to run the clock out. He was just sitting there and boom, disconnect at about the 2 second mark.
I think some people cum a little when they see that little connection drop box come up. My internet connection isn’t great so sometimes it drops, and it should be obvious to anyone with half a brain that it wasn’t a “ragequit”. Last night for example in round three of a fight, we both had about 1/3 health left, the connection drops as I am in the the start up animation of a jump, yet I still get some bullshit message from the guy.
Common sense is takes a backseat when your playing SF4 online I guess.
okay. so i just had a ranked match that i quitted on in the 3rd round because of lag (i play dhalsim). my opponent then calls me a pussy, so i invite him to a player match and beat him twice. fair or not?
Ok, today on XBL I faced a user named kwaid on 3 rounds ranked twice. First he was Sagat and I was Guile, I tore his Sagat to pieces and swept him. No DC there.
So then I run into him again on ranked. 3 rounds but this time he’s Bison. Instead of my Guile tearing him up, he starts to tear ME up. :arazz: So on round 3 he was almost close to beating me…but lo and behold, I won the 3rd round on a clutched Ultra. Then I won the 4th and on the final round, 2 victories for him and two for me, the one and final around… I started sweeping the floor with him but JUST before I could get him below 50%… he ragequits. :annoy:
I had an epic comeback going on and he ragequits. Sad, A_Zombie
