I was playing Ranked mode because I couldnāt find any champ or player matches, so I join this guys game, dudes PSN is ashmeista. Before we start, he sends me this asking me what my BP is. I didnāt know so I replied.
Then he asks if itās over 3000 so I said I think so.
Then he kicks me from the lobby and tells me to check it then heāll fight me. I found this pretty funny then told him points dont mean anything and I donāt want to fight him
Then he tells me Iām shit without playing me so I responded with this
Is this guy serious? Do battle points really mean that much to him?
I got a laugh out of it anyway so itās all good :lol:
No fucking way, I fought this guy like 3 hours ago. I told him how many I had and he fought me. I told him I had around 2500. I have around 3500, and so he sent me a message calling me a scrub liar. lol. I pressed 2 on accident.
But no bullshit, I totally fought this guy today! ashmeista. I remember cause I thought it said asthma.

turbo is a short cut to making the game easier and doesnt require a lot of skill to play. it makes links easier and (in the guys example) all he does is spams electricity. all he does is blanka roll, grab, fierce punch or kick, then electricity x30 a match because instead of mashing the button he uses turbo. he even made a whole site dedicated to defending turbo and how hes the super god tier online with like 2092983982 points and anyone else with more points is a points cheater or something. dude is dead serious about this becoming god tier points online. all his youtube vids he disables comments and his game is very simplistic and does alot of electricity.

Itās kids like this that believe anything goes in fighting games. Chip wins, turbo, lag SRK mashing online, etc.
Now, mashing SRK is fucked up in itās own right but it isnāt their fault netcode isnāt all that good in many fighting games online. They are simply using the tools they are presented with. Once they go to an arcade, they become surprised how well the other persons links link.
Chip wins when you have a nice block of health are cunt-ish behavior. When I was growing up, several chip wins in a row while stocked on HP got a you a nice black eye and probably a polite request not to return to said arcade. The issue isnāt chip winsā¦itās having enough skill beating the other guy to that point and then pulling of such a douche move. Has to do with gaming etiquette.
Turbo is just plain cheating. It helps with links, combos and generally owns lower class players pretty bad. Sure, very good player can counter it a bit, depending on the gameā¦but still is cheatingā¦regardless or what developers or Microsoft may say about it. Again. its player etiquette.
Fighting games are about skill, execution and the ability to read your opponent. Not simply winning at any cost.
Now, at 30+ years old, I may be an old, nostalgic fuck who still believes there are proper way of doing things.

you ve just admitted (altogether with all the other no-turbo players who complain about turbo-players and dont acknowledge players like me their achievements) that you dont even play online championship mode because its too difficult for you. you say its easy for me to be ranked number 1, but you dont play by yourself there ???
you dont know how much work i have done to be the number 1, and especially as long as you dont play up to 70000 GP you will never ever know what kind of difficult players i have faced and beaten, and of course lost too. its easy for you to have a big mouth in forums, but why dont just come to champion mode and show your big mouth in good fights ?? you afraid of losing ??

SF online play is a new opportunity fo sf players, it can be played at home at any time (and not only for special public sf tournaments over one weekend). There are so many sf players you have/will never see in arcades or tournaments, but now these players also have opporunity to play sf with others online. This new thing looks like it disturbs the (old fashioned) offline/arcade players. But why do you always discredit the online play ? Just because it does not suit you ?? After i have been playing sf online for a long time now and postings some vids on youtube, i ve got a lot of friends who also play with turbo controllers and i promise you, there will be definetly more and more turbo players upcoming. in the last 2 weeks i fought so many turbo players (blankas) i ve never ever fought 2 months ago. Turbo players amount will increase. So find a way to beat them, or stop online playing like ESCOBEN and therefor also stop complaining if you dont play online.

^ Yeah thatās almost as disturbing as the turbo abuse. You donāt have to make a contorted code of ethics for a game, the designers took care of that. Chip damage finishes make things incredibly tense and a smart player can use attempts to chip them to death to their advantage.
Whatās the problem with Chip victories? I donāt really see itā¦
I play Seth, and if youāre fullscreen away, with 5-10% health, i have Super, I will unavoidably chip you to death.
I believe fighting games are about using skill/execution/opponent-reading in ORDER to win at any cost.
Turbo isnāt any of those things and I definitely donāt support its use, but chip damage really is part of the game and Iāve never heard of it being considered unsporting before. To me it sounds similar to getting mad because someone is throwing ātoo much.ā

Care to elaborate on chip wins? Iām not trying to draw you a straw man, but the way I interpreted that is:
if the opponent has a pixel of health, I have to wait until the situation is reset for my opponentās convenience instead of just throwing a projectile at him to finish the round to maintain some arbitrary sense of etiquette?
Donāt admonish the achievements of people who use turbo just like you shouldnāt admonish the achievements of athletes that use steroids.
