How do you IB mid block? Do you just spam backwards on the stick and it’ll auto IB for you?

Yeah I should have added that disclaimer, but it was late, and I was too lazy cause I wrote that up before thinking about it. Just a small one time combo.

Well, the move hits like 40 times or so, and it’s a blockstring. You can block the first hit and release the stick and it’ll continue to block the other hits as long as your opponent doesn’t throw out a sweep or an overhead (of course you can change how high you’re guarding to avoid it).

So just tapping back will instant guard a hit, and you don’t have to worry about getting hit by the super once you’ve blocked the first hit.

^^^^ this is really important if you air guard the super because nu will dash up and 2c you and you have to barrier or insta block (i always seem to get hit by the super after i’ve bursted so i learned to ib the 2c)

I did not know that. I thought going neutral on the stick would cancel the block. Is that only if you use shield with it, or does going neutral leave autoblock regardless?

I don’t know how long the window is for a combo to be considered a blockstring, but yeah.

You don’t have to barrier, it’s just a blockstring…

Is it just me or does playing online make doing her frog combos that much fucking harder?

Get them offline with little effort, online my dash always seems to be too slow out of a corner. Fucking hate input lag.

it’s not jsut you. i have the same problem. no problem offline, but sometimes, it doesn’t work online. So in the corner, i just skip the frog and dash in 3C, super, then frog. you don’t lose that much.

Welcome to the internet, where you’re guaranteed to have input lag simply due to how the technology works.

Really? I do fine with the frog combos online, so I’m not sure.

I dig it, considering most of the time I aircombo and I’ve been wondering on an easier way to combo into the dd… up until now I was clueless. MUHAAAHAHAHA…

Huh, that IS an interesting setup. I’ve been doing the standard 6A 5B sj j.B j.A j.B j.C dj 2CD dash 6A 632146C but the super damage is prorated to hell

When going for the super, it’s better to do a normal jump and skip the extra hits in between. Just do 6a 5b jc j.b j.c dj 2dc j.c dash 6a super. This also does more damage than the one in that video mentioned above. But that setup is useful if you feel like the opponent floated too high to land the 2c.

i have trouble against arakune…my worst matchup…

pumpkins and rods are your friends, neko upper and george eat clouds, jump back c if you know hes gonna teleport helps.

lol and one of Rachel’s supposed good matchups. 6A and George destroy curse clouds, pumpkin works wonders, summon George while winding pumpkin (should be doing this anyways). Always be ready to tech grabs if you see him teleport.

To be fair, she IS pretty fucked if he lands curse, due to a lack of shoryu.

When I play against good arakunes (curse you HB), the game really drags, with both of us doing a lot of hit and runs, trying to maximize damage from CHs when we get them and get a lead so you can run away till you find a opening.

Really, run away a lot. And if you get cursed, try to stay in the air and wait off the curse. Nothing is worse that getting trapped in the corner+cursed, because good arakune players WILL find a way to break your guard in that position (either from guard breaks or just plain crazy mix-ups) and re-curse you.

When you’re not cursed, try to summon pumpkin via air and try to have a frog out most of the time if possible, they really help. Air lobelia seems like a better option than ground, usually saving you from eating his ground bug thing. JC is really useful in a lot of situations.

I’m pretty impressed with how difficult it is to get competent with Rachel. Been playing her for a good 3 weeks now. The issue isn’t so much with combo execution, but effectively using her normals and movement. She’s really fucking punishable if you’re playing good folks. Mistakes with her really leave you wide open, even just with her normals. And the folks I play with regularly are better than I am to begin with.

I’m slowly getting better at her general game, but she’s far more difficult than anyone I’ve picked up in this game yet. There’s a big separation in getting her solid in training versus using her well in a match. Wider gap there than anyone I’ve played thus far. And I spent some time with Carl. But she’s fun, and I’m sticking with her as a main. Just realizing it’s probably gonna take me a couple months, at least, to get to where I’m actually solid with her.

But it’s pretty funny how online you can just 6b CH all fucking day and people will fall for it repeatedly.
