No word on st.HK but yeah…

Looking by this we can tell that cr.LP is still 3F so we got that. cr.HP being -1 seems in line with other things like divekicks, and IALL all being negative.

I would also like to say that all overheads being -6 means that a blocked overhead is now punishable by st.MP which should have some huge benefits to us. We now get a st.MP, F.MP/st.HP/ EX peach punish on overheads.

Jesus… possible the only character with only nerfs and no buffs, haha.
I was hoping at least for a VSkill buff or a buff for her footsies game in general, but hey…

I think Mika is going to be that character where the changes to the game system will just buff her back up indirectly and she won’t need much else. Still has c.LP as a 3 frame button.

There were reports that uncharged s.HK is safer on block so that helps too. Her frame advantage on grabs seems the same (as is Laura’s) so still get to pressure people after grabs.

Apparently mikas ex butt is only +1 after dash. Looks like you could only get an lp after that for a meaty

c.LK has always been a 4 frame button. Just really good cuz the range is ridiculous for a rapid fire low.

But it still possible to link into c.lp, right?

ps: the dataframa that i’ve got says c.lk is 3f btw

You must have some really old data. Both Dantarion’s data and LordWilliam’s newly made sheets have it as 4 frames.

If it was 3 frames Mika would have THREE 3 frame moves and you KNOW that would be bitched about. Mika players don’t mash c.LK on wake up much which is also a good sign that it isn’t 3 frames.

Do you really think they were needful? I’m not sure yet, but he seems well balanced how he’s currently.

All I know is his c.MK is plus one on block now which is cool. Have to ask Ocean Machine about the other stuff.

Urien players whine about iffy AA and no true reversal so I guess it’s cool.

Here’s all her frame data changes, sorry for everything that has already been said:

  • st. LP is 4f (was 3f) and +4 oH (was +3)
  • st. MP is +8 oH (was +7). links into st. MK
  • cr. LP still 3f
  • cr. HP is -6 oB (was -4)
  • cr. MK is +3 oH (was +2). links into cr. LP
  • TC pushback severely reduced. Very easy to punish now
  • f+MP is 0 on hit and -8 oB (was +2/-2)

The rest looks unchanged.

I don’t know what is the point of cr.MK comboing into cr.LP ? That is such a weird change. The pushback alone would make it almost useless.

Can you test her st.HK when uncharged ? I am guessing Capcom took out it being -2. We don’t want her to be useable now, don’t we ?

She just fits very well with what the game is promoting so she pretty much can’t be bad on that alone. Keeps a 3 frame button, should be fine.

All the unlisted frame data is unchanged. Some people also report it has a faster startup.

TC = target combo (st. LK, st. MP). It’s still -5 as before, but now you’re actually in range to punish it. Can’t really spam it after charged st. HK anymore.

This is what I’m hoping for. Taking away the meterless reversal dp really opens up options for Mika. This is such a break from standard SF precedence that I’m in disbelief. This doesn’t just allow her more clear windows of pressure against characters with dp, it also reduces their access to super if they want to pull a reversal when they have it. Plus the EX DP are all much easier to punish, so I expect a srk bait will be rewarded much heavier than a normal dp would. In general this ups the risk of dp characters without upping the reward much (you can’t combo off any ex dp) while giving us a MUCH bigger reward for baiting that dp.

This change alone makes me crazy amounts of happy.

I am honestly wondering what is the point of cr.MK into cr.LP link. Why would I want to use cr.MK when i can use st.MP and that would allow me to combo EX peach.

I have to test this one to see what is the point of that.

^^ Maybe their intention is making cr. mk now as a good meaty against wake up. If it really links into c. lp, she will be able to finish the combo with flying peach or even CA, which is very useful imo.

Could she do st. MP into H peach before? Because I can on the beta.

btw even with the Irish whip not bouncing midscreen I found some stuff:

passion press > M airplane = you can do a meaty cr. LP after that
passion press > EX airplane = meaty st./cr. MP works.
passion press > H airplane = you’re negative but you land right in the opponent’s face.
passion press > L airplane = you can whiff punish lights with st. HK

So basically you can still put the opponent into a mixup after passion press mid screen.

About her throw advantage:
forward throw = +3, no pressure after that
back throw = +12
forward throw on crouchers = still a huge advantage, you can dash and do a meaty f+HP after that
brimstone = still +2 after dash, can’t do it twice in a row but you can go into typhoon after that
EX brimstone = +15, you can do EX brimstone > dash > L brimstone
typhoon = +11, in the corner you can do meaty f+HP after that
