She says imma kick your ass in her EN entrance. Buahaha never new she was so rough.
R.Mika thread destined to become the biggest character thread here in a few days, even though sheâs the newest character. But her popularity is staggering.
Perhaps if Karin appears, she might surpass her.
I also notice, on Gootecks video, that Mika canât sweep her opponent after a passion rope throw midscreen.
Like that dude says before, itâs indeed her whiff wingless airplane.
Every Rainbow Mikaâs Normal (like always, sorry for the quality of certains pics) :
Standing :

http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047694-lp.png Good poke I guess
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047699-mk.png Low crush, airborne, you can choose to move forward or stay where you are
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047676-mp.png Combo filler (combo into Standing HP or Forward MP), cancellable.
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047688-heavy-kick.png THE standing bouton. Crush counter, good avantage on hit or block (or people respect it too much), can be charge (it seems so), pass over Chunâs kikoken.

Crouching :
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047748-lk.png Fast, good range
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047744-lp.png Fast, good range
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047752-2mp.png Decent Anti Air, move forward
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047744-mk.png Good range. In Zero 3, you could apparently use it as a late AA, donât know if you can in that build.
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047749-2hk.png Slide, knockdown, low profile (?)
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047733-2hp.png Donât know if it is as good as in Alpha 3. Move forward.
Jumping :
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048004-lk.png Crossup
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048027-lp.png Air to Air
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441047994-mk.png Donât know the utility of that move, maybe a far air to air ?
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048005-mp.png Donât know the utility of that move
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048025-hk.png Good range, use as a far jump in.
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048027-hp.png Best jump in it seems.
Command Move :
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048584-forward-hp.png Lady Mika, crush counter, launcher.
http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/36/1441048581-forward-mp.png Passion Rope Throw. Used a lot, in combo or as a poke. Go into the throw (with MP or Back MP).
http://media.eventhubs.com/images/2015/08/27_mika07.jpg Break the momentum of a jump, she falls like a rock (vertically). Not as fast as Decapreâs (when you hit MP during a scramble medium or Heavy, she goes to the ground vertically), pretty unsafe, donât deal a lot of damage. Donât know if that can be use as a bait like Great Hard Hero supposed. Donât Know if thatâs an overhead. However, i suppose you can make good mixup with Nadeshiko (fake crossup - back dropkick for example. Of course, I dâont know if that works)
I think st.mk is her most common combo starter. Combofiend used it a lot. Seems to be one of her best pokes as well.
Admittedly havenât had much chance to look into her footage (moving homes is a pain), but does st.Mk link into anything from what weâve seen? It definitely looks good as a poke tool, just curious what you could go from it.
s.MK? I havenât seen anything link after it.
Most common combo starters for me look like s.MP and s.HK.
I meant st.HK sry.
Ah ok. Yeah s.HK looks good, the startup is slow but it looks like the low profile at the beginning kinda throws people off⌠Almost like a back swing blow. Combo uses it enough for me to know the move is legit anyway.
Itâs a deceptive move, able to get past a lot of stuff. Hopefully Capcom doesnât think itâs too strong and severely nerf it, but weâll see.
She appears to have quite a few moves that cause her to avoid a lot of stuff.
st. MK = Much like in Alpha 3, you move the stick / directional buttons after the input to control R. Mikaâs movement a little as she performs this move. Low invincibility.
st. HK = Crush Counter. Low invincibility. May go over projectiles as seen in a Chun Li match up.
cr. HK = Low profile. May go underneath projectiles (unconfirmed)
Minor note about V-Skill⌠it seems like the player can hold on to the V-Skill input for a very long time. According to Mr. Combofiend⌠She may talk for a PRETTY long time. The next throw would end up doing a ton of damage as a result. And as for the whiffed Wingless Airplane⌠We saw Gootecks utilizing it as another method to get a bit closer to the opponent. This might be unsafe but I still need to know what the recovery is on whiff because it seems to be another decent mobility options based on how Gootecks used it. There really does not seem to be that much recovery on whiff and she may also quickly switch sides with the opponent at certain spacing.
Some of the combos that we saw so farâŚ
Spoiler
st.HP, qcf+P (Shooting Peach)
st.MP [link] st. HP, qcf+P (Shooting Peach)
[Corner] st.MP, [link] f+MP~MP (Passion Rope Throw Forward), (wall splat), f+HP, qcf+K (Wingless Airplane)
st.LK, [link] st.MP, qcf+P (Shooting Peach)
st. HK, [link] st. MP, qcf+P (Shooting Peach)
st. HK, [link] st. MP, qcf+Two Punches (EX Shooting Peach)
st. HK, [link] st. MP - V-Trigger - [link] st.HP, qcf+P (Shooting Peach)
Crush Counter st.HK (against mid air opponents), Shooting Peach
Crush Counter st. HK (once again, mid air opponents), Shooting Peach
Iâm also positive that Nadeshiko offers very nice combo extensions while R. Mika is utilizing V-Trigger.
Minor Stuff:
-
What would be nice is if we could figure what combos she can get off of Passion Rope Throw outside of the corner.
-
Shooting Peach might be useful for baiting stuff out if you whiff it. On whiff, it seems to recover pretty quickly. Probably the light punch version depending on the spacingâŚ
Spoiler
This is somewhat irrelevant but I think one of R. Mikaâs win quotes to Ryu read:
âYou have these battles sometimes. Like youâre fighting with yourself.â
-
Another irrelevant entry: R. Mikaâs win quote towards Necalli read:
âThe crowd wonât get excited if all you do is scream.â -
⌠And, one more. R. Mika vs. Chun Li:
âThanks for all your guidance! The pros sure are a cut above!â
Couldnât catch anything else at the time.
^ nice breakdown⌠Shooting Peach is the ass move right? If so then whatâs the animation on Wingless Airplane?
I want to know more about her V-Skill. Does the buff go away when she lands her throw? Is there a cap to the buff? Is the mic throw a projectile?
The damage buff goes away after the next throw. I would like to know how the buff would last though if she does not commit to a throw. It seems to last until she performs the next throwâŚ
Iâm not sure about the mic. It stuffed Bisonâs slide from what I recall, though.
EDIT:
Sorry. Didnât see your post yet.
The Wingless Airplane move is qcf+K, functioning as an air throw, done by R. Mika doing a fancy moonsault animation. If this move is whiffed, R. Mikaâs animation will have her finishing her moonsault jumping motion. She will jump forward by distance. By the time she lands on the ground, she seems to recovery rather quickly. Otherwise, if it connects with a mid air opponent, she conducts an elaborate throw.
Thatâs kinda hard to describe, she starts with a moonsault, caught the opponent in the air with her legs, turns in the air and falls on the opponentâs head (which is between the ground and ⌠her butt). But, basically, itâs the air grab (donât know if itâs really a grab)
The Rainbow Typhoon is her giant swing and brimstone is the command grab where she lifts her opponent then throws him/her.
Concerning her V skill, she builds V Meter too. She builds meter when she is talking (not only at the start) and when someone hit her or her amor. With that damage boost, that could be one of the best Skill in the game (when Chun has a shitty one - Thatâs off topic but I think she deserves a boost of V meter, even if thatâs not that much. She should build it without hitting the opponent. Like 10 % of one gauge when she whiffes and one third when she hits or something like that, I donât know)
I think she canât do anything after the passion rope throw in mid screen. Iâm pretty sure I saw Gootecks trying to sweep a walking Claw (maybe the wrong character) and nothing happened. But, I may be wrong.
Awesome, thanks guys.
I think Rope Throw combos will be exclusive to the corner as they should be. From there she can do f+HP xx Anti-air Throw or s.HP xx EX Peach. Not sure which does the most damage but I do like that Combofiend was switching up all his combos. Gave us a lot of juice to work with.
Iâd like to get an idea of how punishable her V-Skill is⌠Iâm thinking Nash could do his s.LK>s.MK target combo and break up the armor but no idea if the mic throw would be able to interrupt it.
I would also like to know her combo potential off light attacks. I know she can link s.MK into s.LP but not sure what from there⌠Maybe EX Peach
And I heard her V-Trigger has to be held then released for Nadeshiko to attack (think it was Gootecks who said), if so, how did Combofiend do s.HP xx V-Trigger, s.HP, EX Peach, HP+HK [Nadeshiko body press], hcf+K? If you have to hold the input then he wouldnât have been able to get the second s.HP to hit. So it works a different way. Iâm guessing, press HP+HK to activate then whichever of HP+HK, f+HP+HP or b+HP+HK for her to attack.
Anyone know if what she says on the mic is set, random, or opponent specific yet?
Itâs opponent specific. She talks shit about Ryu not having shoes.
Also why isnât the title of this thread called ââŚand her nameâs R. MIKA! DO DO DO DOOOOOâ
At the time we were really focused on her Stunner and how awesome it looked (still does, just⌠not too good in practice).
Also, Iâm glad she says character specific stuff. Is there a video where we see or hear this?
Fucking great.
Gonna love dizzying people and making Mika talk all kinds of shit until they recover, because causing salt is more important than a free combo.
It was the vidya where Combofiend was being interviewed by Gamespot(?) while casually beating up a Ryu.
