Went back to Mika because Birdie sucks too hard in specific areas. It is not fun fighting an Akuma with Birdie. Plus Birdie lacks Oki pressure unless he gets you in the corner, he lands super, or he finally gets V-Trigger and lands a command grab. Plus his jumps are garbage. His jumps are so slow that YOLO pieces of shit that use Urien or Rog can easily catch his ass.
Started experimenting with Charged HK. It kind of works. It seems to work against either (A) players still in the SF4 mindset (AKA walk back and fourth constantly, refuse to jump in, chuck fireballs for 20 minute, try to AA a jump in or luck out by getting a knockdown and then finally going in) or (B) characters with really shitty jumps.
I do believe a patch is coming because season 2 is just garbage. And why the fuck does Akuma have fucking 3 moves that are massively plus on block? Why the fuck would you ever make his cr.MP and cr.HP +3 on block? That is amazingly retarded. And Urien is such a flowchart piece of shit. He was flowchart before but now? Holy shit. You could turn off your brain and just know training mode combos and win with that character now. Same as always with Ibuki and Rog.
What would be a good starting point to pick up Mika? been going over tech videos and such for her post s2, but wanted to see what people whoâve been using her for awhile feel are important to get with her.
Would post in the beginner thread, but seems very jumbled/dead lol
Eh, this is probably the worst time to start using her because her footsie game (which was anything but great before hand) just got kneecapped.
Fuudo and Nuckledu are the best Mikaâs in the world. Fuudo is more practical but he has GDLK reactions. Nuckledu figured out some sort of OS with st.LK as an Oki tool.
The gameplan with Mika now is to try to get in, this is honestly the hardest part with her and itâs even harder now, and get them in the corner for fuckery.
Here is the general most important aspect that you have to learn with her on a basic/starter level.
1- Learn to hit confirm her st.MP into EX peach
This is your go to confirm, you wonât get many chances with Mika in a round but this one is a must to get somewhere with her.
2- Her Oki and how to pressure after what.
As a mixup based character you would want to know what her Oki is like. What can you do after a brimstone throw, what can you do after a regular peach and what can you do after EX peach, etc, etc
Must know your set play with her.
3- You will need to practice some of her V-trigger combos and setups, gotta make the most of these.
4- Lastly, you will need to work on her anti-airs and getting used to them.
These are the 4 most crucial aspects that i feel you need to know well to get the gears running with Mika on a starter level.
mika is that character you cant really learn to fight. shes always going to be good. shes amazing as a pocket character imo. But maining only her is tough. Im sure du will still use her
Currently its more or less Twitter confirmed that Du will have Mika as his second. He is probably sticking with Guile as his main. But the man is Guile incarnate fighting style wise, so it makes sense. I donât think any new character or buffs to another character could pull him away.
Currently it is more or less Twitter confirmed that minus all his bitching Luffy will be maining Mika still. He is the most likely to be pulled to a different character.
Currently it is Twitter confirmed that MARN will be playing Ibuki. Most of his fans know this his him trolling. He is a 50/50 for going back to Mika once he stops freaking out over season two changes. He is friends with JWong so its likely to happen around March or April and wonât have too big a training gap as a result.
And finally it is sorta Twitter confirmed that Fuudo is staying on Mika and has no known secondary currently (he has been looking for pocket characters to supplement for awhile.) Fuudo is tough to track as a fighter since he doesnât really like social media as much as some of the others. But there is some vids of him figuring out Mika tech. So Iâd say this is a 95% certainty that he is going to main Mika with the 5% being that she might be his secondary. Fuudo has a history of being stubborn about his character picks and he was the least effected person play style wise by the Mika nerfs.
So there it is. 2 solid Mikas and 2 possible pocket users. Lots of people to watch for tech and style tips. If you want the tweets I can dig but this was more of an investigative summary of a lot of little bits of info over the past month.
Fuudo has always been under the radar. But yeah, he has been keeping his S2 stuff to himself. Given his history its probably because he trains a lot of his stuff at home rather than online whenever a new version/game is released.
