cr.MK is good, (st.MP was good haven’t tested it now), ofcourse the clap was good but RIP now. Also st.HK is a very underrated option, also works really really well against her cr.MK and from range you are unpunishable.
Yeah I’m worried about c.hp too. What has everyone’s experience been? Are you able to use it to approach at all? Only with v-trigger cancel? Only to punish something? This move was a lot of my play before this patch.
Yeah cr.HP is almost useless now against anyone that is competent. It is so easy to whiff punish and the spacing required for it to be just -1 is tough, it is just not worth using now.
I have been mostly playing cautious, trying to make my way in slowly. Trying to whiff punish any thing my opponent throws or just dashing up and throwing fast pokes when i notice that they are playing passive. Then once am in i go crazy with the tick throws, jumps and generally annoy the shit out of them.
**Ways to get in now :
**
1- st.HP into HP peach as a buffer. ( This is FANTASTIC to catch people who are trying to dash forward).
2- Anti-air cr.MP to reset them in front of you with frame advantage.
3- Fish for a cr.MK and confirm EX peach on counter hit. ( This is pretty good actually).
4- Jumping in as always.
5- Punishes. Having your punishes on point is so freaking crucial to Mika now. It is one of her main ways of getting in.
6- Use st.HK a lot in the mid range, kinda similar to how Ken would use it. If you are up close then you can juggle with MP peach on CC, you can do EX peach here but i would save it for another punish or confirm opportunity.
**7- Look out for neutral jumps and either J.MP or EX wingless airplane them. ** It is so important to be on point with this now. We must punish preemptive neutral jumps and use these chances to get in. The opponent is basically giving you a free chance here.
8- Charged drop kick very sparingly.
9- Use V-skill (just tap verison) if they are standing far away. Most people would be prompted to either do something like throwing a fireball or coming in themselves.
Generally, play The Fuudo style if you want to have a chance with this new Mika. Going balls to the walls crazy offence isn’t going to cut it anymore.
Not trying to be a dick but (BUT) there’s a lot of bad advice right here.
1- this might be decent. The problem is that HP is -6 on block. Personally, I like using MP and if I have meter combo from that into EX Peach. It’s easy af to do.
2- This is pretty “der obvious” breh. Why wouldn’t you be using her best AA normal until now? This is as obvious as saying “Remember to breathe oxygen.”
3- cr.MK is still ass. The problem is that it has the same range as cr.LK only it comes out at 7 frames and is -2 on block. If you’re just throwing out pokes and want to land EX Peach, just fucking use MP. If you just want a decent poke at close range to keep them out then use cr.LK like always.
4- See my “Remember to breathe oxygen” remark.
5- See above.
6- You really have got to be careful with HK. Remember, it has 17 frame startup and is still -4 on block. The HK is straight up going to lose to god pokes. Use it very, very, VERY sparingly.
7- Using EX Wingless is, again, like remembering to breathe oxygen. Also don’t forget that the Jab has more hitstun so now you can do LP, LK<MP Target combo into MP Peach. So when you AA with cr.MP not only could you just grab them or do MP like before, now you can set them up with Jab and put them in an even trickier 50/50.
8- Remember, that you can charge the Drop Kick but let go early to fake people out.
That’s basically what you said without any attempt at refuting me. Half of what you said was like the most obvious shit in the world. Do you go into a shoto thread and say “Hey guys, remember the Hadoukens are good for zoning and the Shoryuken (pronounced as “Sure-your-can”) are good anti-airs!” Everyone fucking knew that her cr.MP and Wingless were good AA’s since the beginning with the character. Why state the obvious?
And cr.MK is ass. It literally has maybe a pixel more range than cr.LK but it comes out at 7 frames instead of 4 and is -2 on block instead of +1. It’s kind of obvious which move is better. And her V-Skill is ass. I can’t believe we’re just about a year officially into this game and there’s still scrubs insisting that the V-Skill is useful.
I tried to be nice but you decided to be indigent towards me. Anyone who say’s that Mika’s V-Skill is good has no idea what they’re talking about and should STFU. You could say “It’s safe if you do it at fullscreen!” But almost everyone can punish it at fullscreen.
Cr.MK is better because you get something out of it on CH.
st.HP has more priority than st.MP even pre the extended hurtbox nerf.
The headline was " ways to get in". It is basically listing her good tools to use in the neutral. It was obviously stating her good tools in the neutral.
You are not nice at all and people on these forums are sick of your bitching, you literally are a joke on the general lounge.
I am just sick of people like you who does nothing but cry over spilled milk. You even had the balls to show a match between you and DevilJin where you beat him by abusing cr.HP and V-reversal. No wonder you never stop bitching about them.
I am thankful that Capcom nerfed Mika if that means that people like you would drop her.
I asked here if anyone have some knowledge in the Ibuki matchup but no one have responded yet so am gonna ask you. You obviously main her and have for sure played your fair share of Mika players.
How is this matchup supposed to go ? I have this dude that i run into on very rare occasions and he usually beats me decisively cuz am unfamiliar with Ibuki. Now what i noticed in the match is that generally she seem to have a better set of tools for footsies than Mika do, both speed and normals.
Her F.HK really discourage me from trying to sweep or cr.LK and her V-skill moves her back a little bit and she end up avoiding my poke. Then there is that what looks like a cr.MP into F.HK TC (Not sure if it is a TC or not tbh), i don’t know if that have the same frame data as the usual F.HK but it makes it hard to try to interrupt. Then anti-airing here isn’t very straight forward cuz i have had my wingless airplane (even EX) get stuffed by air kunais and EX air kunais. Jumping can be tricky since Ibuki have a solid set of anti-airs as well.
Felt like a tough match for me, don’t know how you see it or what are Mika’s good options against her ? Also do you think that between Chun and Mika, Who would be better equipped to deal with Ibuki ? I feel more confident in the matchup as Chun.
Yeah, Mika is the most fun character in the game by far IMO. I will say that S2 Laura is also really fun, feels great to have some legitimate links now.
I will probably continue playing Mika at this point as I didn’t really click with Laura and I don’t like this game or any of the other characters in it enough to make the time investment into learning another character. I also don’t feel like spending a year acclimating to a new character just to have Capcom yank the rug out from under me again. -_-
I don’t know why there’s this insistence that cr.MK is now suddenly a good move because it has more hitstun. It’s like “WOW! You can do EX Peach IF cr.MK is a critical hit! That changes everything!” You could do that forever with MP and it doesn’t even need to CH.
If cr.MK hit faster than 7 frames, or actually hit low, or was plus on block, then okay. But none of that applies unfortunately.
Yes and the V-Skill is ass and why list things that people already know about?
Okay breh.
What are you his keeper? Are you gay for him or something? That is a bizarre thing to complain about. I watched that set again and I used cr.HP only once, and Alpha Counter only twice. Because, you know, you used to get Oki from Alpha Counters. Not anymore, but you used to and a lot of characters got Oki from them. Maybe you knew that and maybe you didn’t, I don’t know.
I will be picking her right back up when the cr.HP nerf is reverted and Capcom gets their shit together. The later might be impossible. Either that or one of the DLC characters will have a play style that I like that allows me to play aggressively in Neutral Fighter V.
