It goes beyond that. Cammy’s super is also an excellent tool for punishing a lot of stuff on block that otherwise would be safe due to spacing (see also: many Birdie and Nash normals).
man mika supers are so gdlk. People are so scared of spd they dont see i have a super stocked up which im fishing for. I rarely spd when i got super on deck
what do you guys use R. Mika’s mic drop for? i seems pointless vs zoning unless you are trying to troll
because you can just slide under projectiles and get in anyway.
Find a hard knock down or someone who likes to not quick rise/is conditioned not to by your meaty set ups and you can totally disable a lot of shoryu and similar set ups with it by absorbing the first hit of the dp and letting the mic hit stun to get a tic throw. Other wise I mainly use it for taunting defensive players to get their head out of their sun-dont-shine and build v meter as you alluded to. It’s not much meter but sometimes it can be the difference between a V reversal and not. There are some shenanigans you can pull off with it too like weird anti-air set ups and tic throws but that’s about all. It’s not great but it does /something/. Also sliding under projectiles usefully is fairly dangerous. Even a slight mistime can get you hit. Neutral jump dash in or just a normal jump in is probably better for heavy zoning. Her V-skill is slightly easier to time than her slide and builds v-meter but its still a gamble. So partially style partially risk/reward stuff.
Lady Mika’s hit box is absurd. Nothing to do with Cammy’s CA being good or bad. But like a lot of Mika’s moves the active frames are really small so that had to be exquisite timing in that vid.
I use V-Skill for post-stun combos that I know won’t kill and go for a reset afterwards. The fear of a powered-up command grab makes me people want to jump out, so I use that fear to trap with st.MP or f.HP.
Do you guys think it’s a good idea to play safe and defensive as Mika? I’ve had more success playing a defensive playstile, focusing on punishing my opponent’s mistakes, but I kleep hearing from every living, SFV playing soul that I’m better off rushing down at every chance I get. Thoughts?
I’d say do whatever works bro.
It’s probably a better idea to play offensively, though.
SFV is a more offensive game and her armor is kinda weak
so you probably want to be rushing down most of the time so the opponent can’t get momentum.

Thanks, man. I’ve played SFIV on autopilot for years and I’m trying to learn Street Fighter from scratch (and right this time). Problem is Mika is the only character I enjoy playing, so it’s kinda paradoxical I want to learn the game with her (meaning, not just her). I’ll try to do a mix of my all-new defensive playstyle but keeping in mind I shouldn’t let my opponent get as much momentum.
She has two versions of her forward throw - one for standing opponents and one for crouching ones. Crouch throw allows her to dash up and set up a meaty/command throw mixup.
