So while I’m not sure if Marn is trolling or not the update has definitely made the mixup that he’s referring to much, much trickier. The good news is that as best as I can tell cr.MK works just as well and because cr.MK is 1f faster than s.MK it pretty much mitigates the changes made to the pre-jump timing. I think. Would help if someone who’s better at this testing thing than I am verifies this.

I was just sitting here trying to get this shit to work for like 45 minutes, i can get the lk reset to land but theres no way to cross under?

I think Marn’s style fails against people who play buttons. Justin wrecked him. Fuudo style may be needed to initiate the momentum. That being said, Justin rarely allows any momentum in ANY game he plays.

The reason why Justin won is because these guys play all the time. They are close friends. This even goes back to the vanilla SF4 days. Marn can’t win off of being random if Justin already knows how he plays.

First day didn’t go so well… Played another Mika who blew me up with F+HP all day. He also kept mashing F+MP even though it’s like -427453, and I got hit a bunch of times before I caught on.

What the hell do you do in a Mika mirror? Outrandom your opponent?

The biggest thing about the Mika mirror is momentum…

Mika has a VERY strong reset game… She also has a VERY weak escape…

Get the mika down, and keep her down, you win. If you are getting pressured either block with v-counter or jump. Hope you guess right.

Mika has no strong reversal. Her EX Wingless and EX Peach both lose to meaty wake up attacks. Don’t waste your bar on wake up.

Something I’m trying to figure out, but can’t test due to being at work.

With the new 4f pre jump frames, if someone blocked mika’s st.lp then held up, would a st.mp catch them in the pre jump frames.
Or did this happen anyway with the 3 frames of pre jump?

It was possible pre patch also, since st.LP is +2 on block and St.MP starts at 5f, but now you get an extra frame to delay your St.MP trap.

That is correct. Frame data has been like this since sf4 because they are apparently easier to comprehend.
