I love her! Sooo much fun! Lady Mika is my favourite move in the game. Take the Crush Counter shoto scrubs!
I never got to play the beta so this is my first time playing as her. I did the story with all characters and found that I also like some things about Chun, Laura, Rashid and Ken (in that order).
I’m not quite as good as you guys but I’m definitely doing alot better than I thought I would thanks to you guys’ videos and posts.
So everyone says “Yeah slam people into the wall and you win” but you have to space it right. It’s cute and all to do a bunch of resets ending in d+mp etc but it’s also good to take a step back and just place them there for the future. Mika is good at keeping people from LEAVING the corner so it’s good to even let them stand up sometimes reliquishing the reset. It’s common that people will do something reckless offering you damage anyway, but if not, stepping back just out of sweep range with them in the corner makes things really difficult.
Was her ex qcf p nerfed since the beta? I remember using it as a reversal consistently, but it seems like almost every time I try it now I lose. I just got thrown out of it twice in one match by someone who didn’t even seem very good. Then again, I remember people saying it was a bad reversal anyway, so maybe I was just lucky before?
Yes it does not have armor on frame 1 so it will get stuffed on wakeup by anything, including a throw. She has no wakeup “get off me move”. IF you want someone to get off you, spend a bar and V-Reversal.
I was doing pretty well in casual matches last night with Mika. Lost about 3 out of 20 or so fights after I stopped streaming (matches were too laggy during the stream). Am I the only one constantly being matched with total newbies?
Get in with a mixture of f+MK, st.HK, and if those are failing, cr.HK can usually target the stuff that’s stopping f+MK or st.HK. Failing that, YOLO EX Shooting Peach if you can’t get around the opponent’s buttons. Dash > LP/EX Rainbow Typhoon is really not bad either if they’re being patient, it’s not unreactable but it’s basically unreactable if they’re not looking for it.
I’m really digging her V Reversal. It sets up a decent knockdown and personally I don’t think V Trigger is something you MUST save or, or have an opportunity every round for. Between EX Shooting Peach and V Reversal she’s not TOO bad off in the defensive department but it’s still pretty freakin’ rough if someone gets in on you.
For meter I’m finding EX Rainbow Typhoon is one of the very best uses due to its extreme range and damage. EX Shooting Peach is great for the occasional reversal, and a huge upgrade to your st.LK > st.MP TC over using MP Shooting Peach (if I have meter I will almost always upgrade the MP Shooting Peach). EX Wingless Airplane is really not always worth the meter to end your combo with, although there are times when you have to EX WA or bust to end your combo, or of course to get the kill that wouldn’t have happened.
Hit confirms I’m mainly doing st.LK > st.MP TC off of st.HK charged and j.LK. Off a j.HP, I’ve been doing st.MP which, while -2 on block, still leaves you in range for EX Rainbow Typhoon, and on hit goes into a full damage combo. Going for j.HP > immediate command grab, or j.HP > st.LK > Rainbow Typhoon are good ways to stop someone from just blocking.
Midscreen, if you’ve done a long combo, like off a stun or a jump-in, and are going into a f+MP wall bounce combo, it’s better IMO to wall bounce > backdash > forward dash > cr.MP for the reset. I find most people are presently much less wary of this reset compared to the corner.
I find st.MP is a lot safer and leads to more damage as a meaty over f+HP (which is a very great meaty of course). Very easy to confirm after it and you can be neutral or plus if you were meaty. If you have your opponent scared of a throw after a cr.MP reset, and they may be neutral jumping, go for throw > LOOK FOR JUMP ON WHIFF > f+HP into CC. You have plenty of time. Also, don’t forget about delayed backthrow if you’re scared of a reversal. Also also, something cool you can do if you’re thinking they won’t jump but might reversal is a bit farther out late EX Rainbow Typhoon; it’s kind of an OS where if they reversal you block, if they sit there or press buttons they get Typhooned. Loses to neutral jumps and backdashes but that beats just going for a command grab in general.
