R.Mika Combo/Tech Thread: "Pull Out All The Stops!"

Ah, I didn’t understand what you are saying. I am pretty sure that a meaty c.hp (last frame) is +1 on block, at least that’s what I understood from release testing people did without frame data. The book must be wrong on that one.

The c.hp is only good if you get that last frame, so I’d be happy to try a block string you find that gets it

How do you do the cross under with mp, fp, fvt, mk, neutral jlk? I cant seem to ever make this cross up. I’ve tried it on Ken and Cammy with no luck. They always fall on the same side and I cant get under them. Maybe I am doing something wrong because I have a very hard time even doing it most of the time I am usually barely getting the jlk.

To get that cross-under, you need to hit your opponent with nj.LK from behind or below you and then you need to hold forward after the nj.LK.

you can’t use s.mk after you activate, you have to use c.mk or even better (range specific) f.mp. Those normals make it so that the neutral jump lk allows you enough time to dance around the floating body and decide what side you want to end up on.

That’s strange I’ll try it after work and see if that was my issue. I was reviewing marns videos vs nuckledu and it looked like he only does s.mk after v trigger and was able to get the cross under. Thanks for the info!

Yea, that video was before the jump patch in 1.02, the extra frame affected that setup

I’ve noticed that at point blank range L and M shooting peach corpse hop an opponent who is either knocked down or crouching. Is there any practical use for this, maybe as a gimmick to finish someone off similar to an instant overhead 50/50? I’ve tried ticking with light normals but they push you out just enough that you don’t cross up. It looks like if you do a deep j. LK/LP, then wait for a split second, call neutral Nadeshiko then do L peach it might work. You can also use the standing lights if you micro walk before calling Nadeshiko. Anyone found anything better? Maybe an oki setup with it?

Here’s a cute but gimmicky command I saw Fuudo use. He does it around 3:05.

Shooting Peach, whiff st.LP, neutral V-Trigger, Nadeshiko whiff, Rainbow Typhoon.

This setup only works in the corner against quick-rising opponents. There also doesn’t seem to be a way to confirm quick-rise and fake out the opponent, making it a very expensive. Only worth using if you’re going to use it to close out a round/stun the opponent and if you’re sure your opponent will quick-rise.

EDIT: On another note, what’s our max damage punish? Best punishes I’ve found so far are st.HP xx n.VT, st.HP, n.VT hit, st.MP->st.HP xx Peach Assault (corner only - 470 damage and 475 stun) and st.HP xx n.VT, st.LK, dash forward, n.VT hit, st.MP->St.HP xx Peach Assault (midscreen - 430 damage and 411 stun).

Excuse the double post.

So here is one of the setups I’ve been working on during the past week or so. I’ve been sitting on a lot of frame-perfect meaty setups which I’ll be posting later this weekend in b4k4’s thread. This is a bit different.

[details=Spoiler]
Safe-ish Jump Setup
Dream Driver (crouch forward throw), crossup j.LK.

Works against:
[] Rashid EX Spinning Mixer: Reversal whiff, dash forward to punish.
[
] Karin EX Ressenha: J.LK stuffs reversal, air reset
[] Ryu normal Shoryuken: J.LK stuffs reversal, air reset
[
] Ken LP Shoryuken: J.LK stuffs reversal, air reset),
[] Ken MP Shoryuken: J.LK stuffs grounded
[
] Ken HP Shoryuken: Reversal whiff, walk forward to punish
[] Ken EX Shoryuken: Reversal whiff, walk forward to punish
[
] Cammy MK Cannon Spike: J.LK stuffs reversal, air reset.
[] Cammy HP Cannon Spike: Reversal whiff, dash forward, st.MP to punish. Dash forward, f.HP is possible but needs to be extremely quickly (i.e. as read, not reaction)
[
] Necalli - HP Raging Light: Reversal stuffed, air reset.
[/details]

I didn’t bother to test this against any Critical Arts, but common sense says that this setup will lose to anything with a hitbox that hits high or covers both sides of the opponent (Cammy’s CA, Rashid’s CA, M. Bison’s CA, etc.).

Hey I’m not sure if this was mentioned before but how do u do the passion press OS? So that the whiff animation doesn’t come out on block ? Thanks in advance

Mikas stun combo, part of 50/50 in video below. I hit him with the cross under previous match so he was conditioned already.

Found a gimmicky corner cross-up last night. B.MP/F.MP~MP, f.HP, whiff Shooting Peach. LP Peach puts Mika in front of the opponent and MP puts Mika her behind them. Both versions of Shooting Peach recover fast enough to set up a meaty. Against quick rise, LP Shooting Peach leaves you at +16 and MP Shooting Peach leaves you at +11. Works on everyone except Alex, Birdie, and Zangief. Against those three character both versions leave Mika in front.

EDIT:

@hehwat I think that setup could be improved by disguising the reset. Something like f.MP~MP followed by st.LP or an uncharged st.HK would work much better than the traditional f.HP, cr.MP. I’ve used the st.LP reset into HP Rainbow Typhoon dozens upon dozens of times and I’ve only had it jumped out of twice.

disguise the spd? in real life i dont think i would go for the spd ever lol. I try to minimize my spd usage if possible.

don’t know if you Mika players know about this escape option but thought i’d post it anyways

What is the input for this^?

delete…non-optimal

cute but looks puniishable lol i like to jab to ex

what ways are there to combo into f.mp i swear i’ve seen people do target combo and combo into f.mp but maybe there are certain counter hit setups im missing?

may be an old beta…
not possible anymore

Maybe what you saw was a counter hit s.lk which may link combo to a s.mp and then f.mp.

afaik the only way to combo to a f.mp is from s.mp. Mika just doesn’t have many combo options.
