What are so good frame trap bnbs/combos?
Basic stuff I’ve done with R. Mika is st.mp xx st.hp xx h.fireball. Its an easy confirm you can cancel into V-Skill and hold it for pressure on connect. Otherwise she has st.lk xx st.mp xx m.fireball (botj combos are the butt splash).
How exactly does V-skill work? Every search I find just says “it makes her throws more powerful”, but I feel like I get long V-skills and see no effect. I have some questions:

[] Does the buff only apply to the next throw?
[] What are the buff values per level? (I assume when Mika gets the little ring effect it denotes the next level of buff?)

- Yes, but any throw (regular throw, command grab, Wingless Airplaine, and even super all count)
- You’ll never get to level 2 because of the nerf, but level 1 I believe increases it by 40 damage for throws, and super by like 100 or so.
Thanks Blackalpha. That clears it up a lot for me. So what’s the nerf to her v-skill?
They nerfed it one beta, but before it was easy to charge it up to level 2, which increased the damage by 80 or so for each throw which was REALLY powerful. They made it take longer to get level 2 now and it’s just kind of impossible to get if you’re playing anyone who is smart. But with this nerf came a buff, she gains CONSIDERABLE V-bar from her v skill now if you absorb a hit with the armor. It’s a give and take basically. It’s not longer used for throw damage buff but for gaining V-bar full screen if the ryu/ken/chun you are playing is chucking fireballs and not going in.

Yeah the v-skill is not very good… I use it mostly to taunt players who go full screen to come at me. Even at full screen it is risky though, and I’ve been punished for holding it for even a little bit.
If you have a dazed opponent you can combo off of it and end the combo with a throw. This isn’t bad because you get a bit of damage from the mic, and a bit from the throw, which makes it okay. Or like, dazed to super.

You can only get cr.lp xx st.mp on counter hit if anything. It’s worthless.

st.lp is much more reliable IMO. it’s plus on hit and block so you can get some tick throw setups or frame traps with f.hp or st.mp for those guys mashing jab. like a lot of guys on here have stated using her 3 frame st.lp to interrupt unsafe blockstrings and getting a counter hit into her st.mp is key to her defense. even on block you can usually throw out st.mp safely where it will bring you into a good range for cr.hp to continue her offense if you need to
I’m having issues remembering my promo/v-skill. Some matches I’ll be on top of it, other times blank until it’s late match and I’m wondering why me meter isn’t full and it hits me. I know the open is a good chance to back and charge a bit, helps bait an action. Other opportunities?
Haven’t tried it but maybe if you Irish whip midscreen it could give you enough time to charge.
Just trying to make sure I understand correctly but is Lady Mika to standing medium punch a true blockstring, or will a move with invincibility frames beat it? Feel free to correct any parts of that sentence that are incorrect aswell!
noob question here, is this a good way to get in? c.LK > cHP only do it upon c.LK hit confirmed. assuming at maximum possible distance c HP should be safe on block right?

A move with invincibility will beat it.
An easy way to test if something is a true block string or not is to go to training mode and set the dummy recording for “guard recovery” to a move with invul such as ex srk and try the string. The bot will srk you if they get a chance.
After a blocked close Lady Mika you can block string into a s.lp, but even s.lk gets beat.
Whats the best way to setup comand grab from rope throw? Now I just bounce them at wall, then do cr.mp to setup for ex comand grab with punch because it does so much damage. But maybe thats not the best setup… any tips?

I do cr.HP and then go for either command grab or wingless airplane (if they know the setup with the command grab already)
