One of my best friends at school was a huge Terry Pratchett nerd, I never really got into it but I loved the art. It was a shock when we heard he had Alzheimers.

Going Postal and Making Money are two of the funniest books I have ever read. At his best, Pratchett was tremendously hilarious and imaginative. To be honest, Terry’s work had been quite poor from Unseen Academicals onward, the first book he had written since becoming afflicted with Alzheimer’s.
Think I will read an old-school Discworld work to honor his tremendous career.
I regret that his books didn’t hold my interest . They seemed pretty good, but I prefer the likes of CJ Cherryh, Stephen Brust, and Paul Di Filippo for my fantasy.

I always thought Terry Pratchett was a woman, because of the weird humor and writing style. The name didn’t help either.
