Never met him but he was one of the few people on srk that I liked his post. RIP Dasrik.

happy bday man. we miss you.
I know I’m a bit late but I don’t check SRK too often these days.
I just wanted to pay my respects to Dasrik. I had the fortune to casually meeting him around 2004 or 2005. Around that time I was going to a few tournaments around LA and Orange County. I wish I could remember specifically where I’d met him but it was definitely at a UCLA tournament or at Camelot.
Like I said, it was a casual encounter but he was one of those guys that everyone seemed to know and everyone really seemed to enjoy. I remember him being a really sharp guy who always seemed to have smart things to say, and I remember there being some quick wit thrown in as well.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m pretty sure I remember him from Camelot, and some of the time being in a wheelchair. And he was always respectful to me when I’d either be organizing or trying to help organize.
I also remember him from SRK due to his posts regarding MVC1. I always loved that game so when he’d post one of his long posts talking about tiers and match-ups and whatnot, I tried to pay close attention.
When I think back about those days at Camelot and the first SBO qualifiers, the UCLA tournaments hosted by DreamTR, there’s like a cast of people who immediately come to mind ? people engrained into those specific memories ? and Dasrik (as I knew him) is one of those people that I think I’ll always remember when I look back at those days.
Best wishes to his family and friends.
Dasrik is one of the few people worthy of being on my SRK friends list.
